Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to advertise UE capabilities to a network node in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include transmitting the following FeatureSet information to the network node: one or more InitialFeatureLists, with each InitialFeatureList indicating the UE's support for one or more initial features; and one or more ExtensionFeatureLists associated respectively with the one or more InitialFeatureLists, with each ExtensionFeatureList indicating the UE's support for one or more extension features. Respective elements in each ExtensionFeatureList correspond to respective elements in the associated InitialFeatureList. Such methods include receiving from the network node a configuration that includes: identification of one or more frequency bands to be used for communication by the UE; and for each identified frequency band, configuration of one or more features indicated as supported by the UE in the one or more InitialFeatureLists and the associated one or more ExtensionFeatureLists.

Methods for advertising extensible capability feature sets for user equipment (UE)

A method performed in a network node for configuring UE with dynamic spectrum sharing between a first RAT and a second RAT in a wireless communications system is disclosed. The network node configures an initial bandwidth part, BWP, for a UE, spanning across a dedicated spectrum for the first RAT and a shared spectrum between the first and second RATs, wherein synchronization signals of the first RAT are configured in the dedicated spectrum, and at least some other signals of the first RAT are configured in both dedicated and shared spectrum. The first RAT is NR and the second RAT is LTE.

Network node and method for dynamic spectrum sharing between radio access technologies

The invention discloses a method () for a cellular system (), in which traffic can be exchanged between first () and second () transceivers. The traffic is sent in data units, each of which is given an identifier, and which data units may be divided into segments. A receiving transceiver () may send status information in data frames or data units () about properly received, partially received, or non-received data units to a sending transceiver, i.e. the transceiver from which the data was sent. In the case () of partially or non-received data units, the status information includes () information about whether the data unit or units were non-received or partially received, and in the case of one or more partially received data units, which () parts of those data units that were not received.

Method and a device for improved status reports

A wireless communication device is configured for use in a wireless communication system. The device in this regard is configured to receive a command that commands the device to perform a link switch from a source link to a target link responsive to fulfillment of a condition. The command may indicate a target link configuration relative to a source link configuration. The device is also configured to store information from which the target link configuration indicated by the command is determinable irrespective of any change to the source link configuration occurring after receipt of the command. In some embodiments, the device is configured to, responsive to fulfillment of the condition, perform a link switch from the source link to the target link using the target link configuration as determined from the stored information.

Method and device for communication in a communications network

There is disclosed a method of operating a network node in a New Radio, NR, radio access network. The method includes transmitting data signaling in a slot corresponding to an LTE MBSFN subframe, the data signaling being rate-matched around resource elements corresponding to resource elements according to a configuration for Cell-Reference Signaling, CRS, for LTE non-MBSFN subframes. The disclosure also pertains to related methods and devices.

Data signaling in LTE/NR coexistence

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to advertise UE capabilities to a network node in a radio access network. Such methods include transmitting to the network node one or more BandCombination elements. Each BandCombination element includes: a list of frequency bands in which the UE can concurrently transmit and/or receive information, and a FeatureSetCombination element that identifies features supported by the UE within each frequency band of the list. Such methods include receiving from the network node a configuration including: identification of one or more frequency bands from the list included in a particular one of the BandCombination elements, and for each identified frequency band, configuration of one or more features identified by the FeatureSetCombination element included in the particular BandCombination element. The disclosure provides a method performed by a wireless device for providing capability information. The method comprises: receiving a first message from a base station, the first message comprising an indication of a capability filter; utilizing the capability filter to generate a filtered set of capabilities of the wireless device; applying a hash function to the filtered set of capabilities to generate a hash value; and transmitting a second message to the base station, the second message comprising the hash value.

According to some embodiments, a method of signaling device capabilities for use in a wireless device comprises compiling frequency band combinations supported by the wireless device. The method further comprises compiling a set of device capabilities supported by the wireless device and assembling a capability message. The capability message includes: the frequency band combinations; combinations of the device capabilities supported by the wireless device; and for each of the one or more frequency band combinations, the capability message includes a first indication of one or more device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination. The first indication of the device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination comprises, for each band of the plurality of frequency bands, an indication of one of the one or more combinations of the device capabilities supported by the band when used in combination with the other bands in the frequency band combination.

UE baseband capability signaling

Methods of operation of a wireless device are provided. In particular, Media Access Control (MAC) protocol aspects are disclosed relating to Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) cells and, more generally, to cells of a cellular communications network operating in an unlicensed frequency spectrum. According to one aspect, a method of operation of a wireless device comprises transmitting an Uplink (UL) transmission on a cell for a corresponding UL Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process, the cell operating in an unlicensed frequency spectrum, and setting a locally maintained status for the UL HARQ process to Acknowledgement (ACK) based on an assumption that the UL transmission was successful.

A method performed by a wireless device for determining a timing advance (TA) offset in a new radio (NR) network is described herein along with associated network devices and systems. An exemplary method includes obtaining an indication of whether a carrier frequency of the NR network coexists with a carrier frequency of a long term evolution (LTE) network, determining, based on whether the carrier frequency of the NR network coexists with carrier frequency of the LTE network, a TA offset for uplink transmission; and transmitting an uplink transmission using the determined TA offset.

A method of operating a wireless device may be provided. A wireless device may receive a release message from a network node of a radio access network. The release message may include an identification of a redirected carrier. In response to the release message omitting synchronization block related parameters for the redirected carrier, the wireless device may check in measurement information configured for the wireless device for the synchronization block related parameters for the redirected carrier; and may perform synchronization signal measurements for the redirected carrier using the synchronization block related parameters in the measurement information.

Methods providing release and re-direct message contents and UE behavior and related wireless devices

In New Radio, NR, when a SR PUCCH resource to which a triggered SR is mapped overlaps with a PUCCH carrying UCI, such as HARQ-ACK and/or CSI, an indication of the corresponding schedulingRequestID, which determines the logical channel ID with new data, is directly encoded in the UCI. That is, rather than directly transmit the relevant SR PUCCH resource(s), which indirectly identifies the SR ID, an indication of the SR ID is directly transmitted on the PUCCH transmission. The encoding of an indication of SR ID may comprise adding bits to UCI to be transmitted, for PUCCH formats 2, 3, or 4. For PUCCH format 0, encoding the indication of SR ID comprises adding an initial cyclic offset indicating the triggered SR.
