A honing machine () for honing bores in workpieces has honing spindle () which is mounted movably in a spindle housing (), is rotatable about a spindle axis () by means of a rotary drive (), is drivable in an oscillating manner parallel to the spindle axis by means of a lifting drive and, at a tool-side end, has a device for fastening a honing tool arrangement with an expandable honing tool. Furthermore, an expanding drive for expanding the honing tool is provided, wherein the expanding drive is connected to the spindle housing and is coupled to a feed rod () running in the interior of the honing spindle. The honing machine is characterized by a monocoque housing (), which has a spindle housing portion (-), which serves as the spindle housing, for receiving the rotary drive (), and an expanding system portion (-), which is formed integrally with the spindle housing portion, for receiving the expanding drive ().

Honing machine

A honing machine comprises a machining unit for honing equipped with a tool spindle. It includes a machine base with an upper side and an upper machine part with an underside. The upper machine part has a vertical column, which has on its outer surface in an upper column region devices for receiving the machining unit that is equipped with a tool spindle. The machine further comprises an annular table with an underside, the annular table being arranged around the column in a lower column region and having a device carrier, which is rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation, for receiving at least one workpiece receiving device. The annular table and the upper machine part are respectively arranged with their underside on the upper side of the machine base and are mounted fixedly in place on the machine base.

Honing machine comprising a device for the mechanical surface machining of workpieces

A honing tool comprises a tubular tool body fastened with an end section in a tool shank and a cutting region on an opposite end section with at least one honing-stick accommodating opening. The dimensions of the honing-stick accommodating opening and of the honing stick are matched to one another so that the honing stick is accommodated in a radially movable manner, and essentially free of play in a circumferential direction of the tool body, between boundary surfaces of the honing-stick accommodating opening. A play-compensating device between the honing stick and the honing-stick accommodating opening comprises at least one elastically deformable supporting element which is supported with a pressure force, in a fitted state of the honing stick, on one hand on a side surface of the honing stick and on the other hand on a boundary surface, opposite the side surface, of the honing-stick accommodating opening.

Honing tool

The invention relates to a method of coupling a honing tool () to a honing spindle (), a honing spindle suitable therefor, a honing tool suitable therefor and a honing device comprising a honing spindle and a honing tool. According to the invention, a method of coupling a honing tool to a honing spindle is proposed which has the following steps: inserting the honing tool into the honing spindle into a joining position in which a honing-tool centre axis () is oriented coaxially to the honing-spindle centre axis (); locking the honing tool on the honing spindle in the joining position by actuating an adjusting device () assigned to the honing spindle. Furthermore, a honing spindle, a honing tool and a honing device which are suitable for carrying out the method are provided.
