A motor vehicle headlamp having a first reflection module, including a first reflector, a first group of LED chips and a second group of LED chips, having a second reflection module, which comprises a second reflector, a third group of LED chips and a fourth group of LED chips, and having a control circuit, which is configured to control the current flow through the light emitting diodes, and which is configured to activate the LED chips of the first group together with the LED chips of the fourth group, wherein the LED chips of the second group and the LED chips of the third group are deactivated. The control circuit activates the LED chips of the second group together with the LED chips of the third group, wherein the LED chips of the first group and the LED chips of the fourth group are deactivated.

Motor vehicle headlamp having a two-chamber reflection system

A motor vehicle headlamp comprising a first semiconductor light source and a first concave mirror reflector, a second semiconductor light source and a second concave mirror reflector, and a third semiconductor light source and a third reflector. Each semiconductor light source includes at least two separate semiconductor chips. The second semiconductor light source includes a first group of semiconductor chips and a second group of semiconductor chips, and a control circuit, which operates either the first semiconductor light source without the third semiconductor light source, or the third semiconductor light source without the first semiconductor light source, operates at least a first portion of the semiconductor chips of the second semiconductor light source together with the first semiconductor light source, and operates at least a second portion of the semiconductor chips of the second semiconductor light source together with the third semiconductor light source.

The invention relates to a light-source assembly, comprising at least one laser light source, a photoluminescence element, which is designed in such a way that, as the result of incident laser light, a mixed light distribution can be emitted by using photoluminescence and which is arranged in such a way that the laser light of the at least one laser light source can be radiated onto the photoluminescence element, and at least one light-emitting diode for emitting a supplemental light distribution, wherein the at least one laser light source, the photoluminescence element, and the at least one light-emitting diode are fastened to a common carrier component as an assembly. The invention further relates to a motor vehicle headlamp having such a light-source assembly.

Light source module for motor vehicle headlamps

A vehicular headlight includes at least one light source that emits light when in use, a reflector having a main reflection surface so positioned relative to the light source as to reflect any light reaching the same from the light source in the form of at least a low light beam delimited at least by an upper light/dark boundary at its upper region as considered in the position in which the headlight is to be used, and a light-transmitting plate extending across the path of the light beam at a distance from the light source and at least substantially devoid of any optically active profiles. A reflection element is further provided that is integral with the reflector and has an additional reflection surface deviating in configuration from that of the basic reflection surface to reflect any light reaching the same from the light source in the form of an additional light beam to an additional region situated upwardly of the upper light/dark boundary.

A headlight arrangement of a vehicle having a reflector subdivided into a plurality of reflector regions, a light source arranged in a region of an apex of the reflector so that a light emitted by the light source is reflected by the reflector onto a roadway in front of the vehicle, at least one screening device associated with at least one of the reflector regions, the screening device being adjustable between a position in which the light emitted by the light source can reach a selected one of the reflector regions, and a position in which a light emitted by the light source is at least partially screened from a selected one of the reflector regions, and a control unit which controls the screening device in dependence on vehicle sensor signals and adjusts the screening device so that in each vehicle situation an optimal light distribution is provided.

Headlight arrangement for motor vehicle

The headlight has a light source (10) in the form of a gas discharge lamp and a reflector (12) which has a first reflector part (16) and a second reflector part (18). A converging light beam is reflected from the first reflector part (16) and a lens (26) and a stop (22) with an edge (24) for producing a light-dark boundary are arranged in the path of that beam. The second reflector part (18) is arranged above and/or beside the first reflector part (16) and is moveable between a position for low beam light, in which a light beam directed downward is reflected from it, and a position for high beam light, in which a light beam with a greater range is reflected from it. The light reflected by the second reflector part (18) in the position for low beam light can issue from the headlight and contribute to the formation of the low beam or be absorbed inside the headlight. A completely effective high beam is formed by a combination of the light reflected from the second reflector part (18) with the light reflected from the first reflector part (16) in the operating configuration for the high beam light.

Headlight of a vehicle for high beam light and low beam light

The headlight apparatus has at least one headlight unit which includes several headlight subunits (20;40;60; 61;70;90). A base low beam which illuminates a base region in front of the vehicle is produced by at least one of the headlight subunits (20;40) in such a way as to fulfill the basic minimum requirements for a low beam. Additional headlight subunits (60;61;70;90) are connectable to the headlight subunit (20;40) producing the base low beam. At least one of the headlight subunits (20;70) is constructed according to the projection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, following the reflector, a lens and a diaphragm. At least one of the headlight subunits (40;60;61) is constructed according to a reflection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, if necessary, a light permeable disk with optical elements in it. A concentrated or focused light beam is produced by the headlight unit or units (20;70) constructed according to the projection principle while a horizontally scattered light beam is provided by the headlight subunit or subunits constructed according to the reflection principle.

Headlight with multiple reflectors for producing a variable light beam

The low-beam headlight has a reflector, in which a light source is mounted and a light-permeable disk which has optical elements. Light from the light source is reflected as a light beam by the reflector which would illuminate a region (62) of a measuring screen (60) placed in front of the headlight so that the region (62) has a horizontal light-dark boundary without being effected by or without action of the light-permeable disk. A first part of the light beam reflected by the reflector illuminates a first part (64a,64b) of the screen under boundary lines (65a,65b) inclined relative to the light-dark boundary (63). A second part of the light beam reflected by the reflector illuminates a second part (66) of the measuring screen between the light-dark boundary (63) and the boundary lines (65a,65b). A portion of the first part of the light beam is at least partially deflected by the optical elements of the light-permeable disk so that it produces the higher lying section of the light-dark boundary associated with the vehicle's own traffic side of the light beam from the low-beam headlight after passing through the disk.

A headlight for vehicles has a light source, a reflector having at least two different reflector regions including a first reflector region which reflects a light emitted by the light source as a converging light beam to form low beam and a second reflector region formed so that light emitted by the light source and reflected by the second reflector region together with the light emitted by the light source and reflected by the first reflector region form high beam, a lens arranged after the reflector in a light outlet direction so that at least the light which forms low beam passes through the lens, and a screening device arranged between the reflector and the lens, the screening device having a stationary screening part and a movable screening part, the movable screening part being movable between a position for low beam in which light forming low beam can pass along the movable screening part and a position for high beam in which additionally the light reflected by the second reflector region can pass along the movable screening part at least partially, so that in the position for low beam an edge of the screening device forms a bright-dark limit of low beam, the screening parts each having a plurality of openings formed so that in the position of the movable screening part for low beam the movable screening part covers the openings of the stationary screening part, and in the position for high beam the openings of the movable screening part coincide with the openings of the stationary screening part at least approximately so that the screening device forms throughgoing openings for the light.

Headlight for vehicle

The headlamp has a reflector (10) and a light source (12). Disposed in the ray path of the light reflected from the reflector (10) there is a lens (18), which is received in a mounting (20) and consists of an elastically deformable material. The lens (18) is acted upon by at least one control element (22), by which a force can be applied to the lens (18) in order to deform it. The light passing through the lens (18) is influenced, i.e. deflected in its direction. In the nondeformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp exhibits a first characteristic, i.e. direction and scatter, and in the deformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp, because of the then different optical effect of the lens (18), exhibits a different, second characteristic.

Vehicle headlamp

A headlight for motor vehicles is produced so that it has a light source emitting light rays, a reflector which forms by reflection from the light rays emitted by the light source a light beam which is dispersed in horizontal planes and extends substantially parallel in vertical planes. The reflector has an optical axis, the light source is arranged so that its longitudinal axis extends parallel to the optical axis of the reflector. The reflector has an apex region which is formed so that the light emitted from the light source is reflected by the apex region as light rays converging in horizontal longitudinal planes which produce great images of the light source in lateral edge regions of a measuring screen arranged in front of the reflector. The reflector has regions which are located outside the apex region and reflect the light emitted by the light source with increasing distance from the optical axis as light rays which in horizontal longitudinal planes increasingly less strongly converge and produce smaller images of the light source on the measuring screen which form a horizontal light band. All the images of the light source are arranged underneath a bright/dark limit.

Method of producing headlight for vehicle and headlight produced thereby

A low beam headlight for motor vehicles has a reflector having an optical axis and a light outlet opening, a light body, a light disc covering the light outlet opening of the reflector, the reflector having an upper region and a lower region having different reflection surfaces which have different shapes and at least partially form a portion of at least approximately general paraboloid and which reflect images of the light body for forming a light distribution with a light-dark limit having a substantially horizontal portion and a portion which is inclined relative to the substantially horizontal portion at an angle .alpha., the reflector being formed so that in sections through the reflector which are perpendicular to the optical axis, section curves are produced whose eccentricity is changeable over their course so that an uppermost image of the light body which is reflected from the upper reflector region has an upper edge adjoining the horizontal uppermost of the light-dark limit and an uppermost image of the light body which is reflected from the lower reflector region has an upper edge which adjoins the inclined portion of the light-dark limit, the upper and lower regions of the reflector contacting one another in a contact plane, the eccentricity of the section curves increasing from zero in the contact plane to a maximal value in an axial plane extending perpendicular to the contact plane, the contact plane being an axial plane which is inclined relative to a horizontal plane at the half angle .alpha. of an inclination of the inclined portion of the light-dark limit and in a same direction as the inclined portion.

Low beam headlight for motor vehicles

A headlight for vehicles has a reflector provided with a light source and having in axial longitudinal sections substantially ellipsoidal section curves, a screen spaced from a reflector apex in the light direction, and a lens spaced from the screen in the light direction. The section curves have first focal points arranged in the region of the light source. The reflector has section curves produced in a vertical longitudinal section and having second focal points arranged in the region of the screen, and also section curves produced in a horizontal longitudinal section and having second focal points arranged in the region of the lens. The reflector is subdivided into at least two parts which border one another in a contact plane, and at least one of the reflector parts is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the contact plane so that an apex of the section curve produced in the axial longitudinal section and extending perpendicular to the contact plane is displaced relative to the contact plane.

Headlight for vehicles

A headlight for a vehicle has a light source, a reflector reflecting light emitted by the light source as a light bundle converging at least in horizontal longitudinal planes, the reflector having a front edge facing in a light outlet direction, and a dispersing lens arranged in the region of the front edge of the reflector so that the light bundle reflected by the reflector passes through the dispersing lens, the reflector and the dispersing lens having shapes which are such and so determined relative to one another that the light emitted by the light source after reflection on the reflector and passage through the dispersing lens forms a light intensity distribution sufficient for requirements corresponding to regulations.
