A process coordinates the acoustic alarm signals output by different medical devices (). A first medical device () outputs, at a time interval before an output of a n acoustic alarm signal, a pre-signal which differs from the acoustic alarm signal with respect to at least one property. A further device receives the pre-signal output by the first medical device () and carries out an analysis of the received pre-signal. As a function of a result of the analysis of the pre-signal, an alarm signal output unit () of a second medical device () is driven in such a way that, as a function of the result of the analysis, at least one property of an alarm signal which is currently being output or will be output by the alarm signal output unit () is at least temporarily changed and/or a pre-signal is transmitted by the second medical device ().

Process and control unit for coordinating acoustic signals output by different medical devices

A monitoring system (″) is for aeronautical personnel (), such as aircraft operators, pilots, co-pilots or passengers of airplanes or aircraft, such as aircraft or helicopters of civil or military aviation, passenger aircraft in scheduled or charter traffic, in particular also ultra-fast aircraft. The monitoring system includes a sensor system () for a measurement-based monitoring of the gas concentration. The operation of the monitoring system (″) can be configured by an external input/output unit () or an external output unit ().

Monitoring system

A monitoring system () is provided for flight crew members (), e.g., aviators, pilots, copilots or passengers, of airplanes or aircraft, e.g., airplanes or helicopters of the civil or military aviation, passenger planes in the scheduled or charter service, especially also ultrafast passenger planes. The monitoring system includes a sensor mechanism and a control unit configured to organize a procedure of a measurement-based monitoring of the gas composition of air, breathing air or breathing gases with the sensor mechanism in an airplane or aircraft, and to control or regulate the procedure. A measurement-based detection of gas concentrations is carried out with the sensor mechanism ().

A cooling element for use within a cooling device of a closed-circuit respirator, includes an element housing, which has a liquid-tight cap and is filled with a coolant, which has a melting point below 50&#xb0; C., especially below 45&#xb0; C., preferably below 40&#xb0; C. A sensor element is arranged in contact with the coolant within the element housing such that the sensor element can be moved in a direction of the gravity acting on the sensor element in the liquid state of the coolant during the use of the closed-circuit respirator by a user of the closed-circuit respirator.

Cooling element, control system, freezing holding device and process for controlling a closed-circuit respirator

A control system, for controlling a closed-circuit respirator breathing gas circuit, includes a temperature sensor, a temperature-reading unit and with a control unit. The temperature sensor is configured to send a temperature signal in the presence of a corresponding temperature polling. The temperature signal indicates the temperature currently present in an area surrounding the temperature sensor. The temperature-reading unit is arranged in the closed-circuit respirator at a spaced location from the breathing gas circuit and the temperature sensor, and is configured to trigger the temperature polling at the temperature sensor by sending a polling signal, and to receive the temperature signal sent by the temperature sensor. The control unit is signal connected to the temperature-reading unit and is configured to determine the temperature indicated by the temperature signal in the area surrounding the temperature sensor and to output a control signal as a function of this temperature.

Control system and process for controlling a breathing gas circuit in a closed-circuit respirator

A method controls a device for extracorporeal blood gas exchange. The device has a membrane as a gas-liquid barrier between a bloodstream and a gas stream. The membrane further makes possible a passing over of the carbon dioxide content from the bloodstream into the gas stream. The device has at least one actuator. A change in a value of an operating parameter of the actuator brings about a change in a value of the carbon dioxide content that passes over from the bloodstream into the gas stream. The method further includes providing breathing gas information that indicates a carbon dioxide concentration in breathing gas and providing a control signal, which indicates a request for setting a value of the operating parameter and changing of the value of the operating parameter as a function of the carbon dioxide concentration in the breathing gas.

A ventilator () determines states with cough attacks and an operating method for a ventilator determines cough attacks. It is determined on the basis of pressure measured values () and flow measured values () whether consecutive elevations of an airway pressure in a ventilator () are due to one cough event or due to a plurality of cough events. A plurality of cough events indicates a state of a cough attack. An output () of a warning () or alarm () is issued indicating the state.

Ventilator and operating method for a ventilator with a determination of cough attacks

A medical device, for example, an anesthesia apparatus or ventilator, including a hot wire sensor (); a hot wire sensor () and a hot wire module () for a hot wire sensor () are provided. A first hot wire and a second hot wire (), namely, a measuring wire () and a compensation wire (), are connectable to the hot wire sensor (), for example, in the form of a hot wire module (), in an electrically conductive manner. The control unit () carries out steps with two operating states including delivering a test gas () by the pumping device () through the gas guide element () to a remote measuring location () and is subsequently delivered from the measuring location () to the gas sensor (). Measured values of a gas concentration are detected by the gas sensor () during the delivery from the remotely located measuring location () to the gas sensor () and analyzed to determine whether changes occurring in the detected gas concentration during the delivery from the measuring location () to the gas sensor () indicate whether the gas guide element () is capable of operating.

A testing device () is configured for testing a gas guide element (). A control unit () carries out a sequence of steps with two operating states. A test gas () is delivered by a pumping device () through the gas guide element () to a remotely located measuring location () and is subsequently delivered from the remotely located measuring location () to the gas sensor system (). Measured values () are detected and analyzed during the delivery from the remotely located measuring location () to the gas sensor system () by a sensor (), which indicates a state of flow in the gas guide element () or an operating state of the pumping device (). Changes occurring in the measured values () during the delivery from the remotely located measuring location () to the gas sensor system () indicate the operational capability of the gas guide element ().

A detection device is provided for detecting a temperature of an object, especially of a living being. The detection device may be connected to at least one temperature sensor and is designed to send a current for detecting the temperature to the temperature sensor and to receive at least one temperature signal, which represents a temperature of the temperature sensor. The detection device is designed to generate a temperature signal, which represents the temperature of the object, as a function of the temperature signal of the temperature sensor, and to send same on the output side. The detection device is designed to generate a heating current and to send the heating current to the temperature sensor during a heating time period, so that a total current, comprising the current for detecting the temperature and the heating current, is greater than the current for detecting the temperature, and thus to heat the temperature sensor.

A device is provided for detecting a gas volume flow, especially for a respirator. The device includes a flow sensor, which surrounds a lumen for guiding the gas volume flow, and the flow sensor has an ultrasound transmitter with a sound generator () and an ultrasound receiver. A method is provided for measuring the run time of an ultrasonic pulse in the determination of the flow velocity of a gas in a breathing gas volume flow sensor (). The breathing gas volume flow sensor () has a flow duct () with a measuring section, wherein the measuring section is arranged in parallel to or at an angle (&#x3b1;) smaller than 90&#xb0; to the flow duct (). The measuring section has an ultrasound transmitter () and an ultrasound receiver (). The method determines the run time of the ultrasonic pulse from the receiving signal spectrum without the damping of the ultrasonic pulse having an effect on the run time measurement by an ultrasonic pulse being triggered by a transmitting pulse at the ultrasound transmitter (). The ultrasound receiver () sends a receiving signal and the receiving signal is recorded as a first receiving signal data record as a function of time after the transmitting pulse. A correlation function of the first receiving signal data record is formed with the first sample data record. The run time of the ultrasonic pulse is determined from the point in time of the correlation maximum.
