An electronically controlled pneumatic brake system () for a vehicle, with a supply coupling head (), a control coupling head (), and an electronically controlled trailer control module () includes a first supply port (), a trailer supply connection () for providing a trailer supply pressure (pT) to the supply coupling head (), a trailer control connection () for providing a trailer control pressure (pB) to the control coupling head (), an electro-pneumatic trailer control valve arrangement () for providing the trailer control pressure (pB), and a tractor protection valve electronic control unit (). The electro-pneumatic trailer control valve arrangement () is configured to only supply a trailer control pressure (pB) to the trailer control connection () when compressed air is supplied to the trailer supply connection ().

A braking system for a vehicle, particularly a commercial vehicle, includes an operating brake device for providing an operating brake function for braking the vehicle, and a parking brake device for providing a parking brake function independently of the operating brake system. If one of the two braking devices partially or completely fails, the vehicle can be braked automatically by means of the other braking device.

Fault-tolerant vehicle brake system

A brake system for a vehicle includes brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid for actuation of brakes by means of pressurized fluid on at least one first axle of the vehicle. The brakes on at least one other, second, axle can be actuated exclusively electromechanically in response to an electrical braking request signal. The pressure of the pressurized fluid can be modulated indirectly or directly and the electrical braking request signal can be generated indirectly or directly in response to actuation of a brake pedal of a brake pedal device. A service brake function is provided by means of hybrid use of the brakes on the first axle(s) together with the brakes on the second axle(s). The brake cylinders operated by pressurized fluid are pneumatically operated brake cylinders. The pressure modulated by the brake pedal device is a pneumatic pressure, and the pressurized fluid is compressed air.

Vehicle brake system

An electro-pneumatic brake control device is provided for controlling the parking brake of a vehicle having compressed-air-actuated brake cylinders, at least one of which is a spring brake cylinder with a spring store part. Valve devices place the brake control device into various operating states. In a first operating state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that a compressed air line to the spring store part of the spring brake cylinder is aerated. In a second state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that the compressed air line is deaerated. In a third state, which can be activated in the event of failure of the electrical energy supply of the brake control device, the valve devices are switched to a currentless state such that the compressed air line is automatically deaerated in throttled manner.

Electro-pneumatic brake control device

A parking brake of a brake system for a vehicle includes an anti-lock device, which, based on a signal that is dependent on the rotational speed of the vehicle engine, transmission, or drive shaft, prevents blocking or excess slippage of a wheel that can be decelerated by the parking brake.

Vehicle parking brake and operating method

An electrically controlled brake system for a tractor is provided that is equipped with an anti-jackknifing brake that can be actuated by means of a manual operating element and that acts only on the brakes of a trailer coupled to the tractor. The operating element is an electrical element which generates an electrical signal to control a valve device by means of which the braking force of the anti-jackknifing brake can be increased.

Electrically controlled brake system

An electropneumatic parking brake modulator for controlling a parking brake mode of trailer brakes in a vehicle/trailer combination includes a valve element for airing and bleeding the trailer spring brake cylinders, at least one compressed air reservoir inlet for airing at least one compressed air line in the parking brake modulator with compressed air from a compressed air reservoir of the towing vehicle, at least one compressed air reservoir outlet at which a reservoir pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer, and at least one compressed air control outlet at which a control pressure can be made available for the brakes of the trailer. A towing vehicle protection valve is integrated into the parking brake modulator, and a compressed air line to the compressed air control outlet is automatically blockable when the reservoir pressure made available for the trailer falls below a predetermined threshold value.

Electropneumatic parking brake modulator

An electrically controlled brake systemfor a tractor is provided that is equipped with an anti-jackknifing brake that can be actuated by means of a manual operating element and that acts only on the brakes of a trailer coupled to the tractor. The operating element is an electrical element which generates an electrical signal to control a valve device by means of which the braking force of the anti-jackknifing brake can be increased.

The invention relates to an actuation device for a brake (), for applying an output force (F) to means () which generate braking force, depending on an input parameter (F), comprising a lever () and a force generator () which brings a force (F) to bear on the lever () at an effective angle (&#x3b1;), relative to the longitudinal axis of the lever (). Furthermore, an alternative actuating device for a brake is given, which permits a significant reduction of the power and energy requirements relative to direct-acting actuating devices. The above is achieved by means of a low-friction actuation characteristic as a result of the construction features of the actuating device and/or the selection of materials used. A preferred field of application is in electrically-driven braking systems on commercial vehicles.
