The present invention relates to a generator (G) for a substantially charge-balanced pulse for application onto at least one electrode pair () of a medical device, the generator comprising: a pulse-shaping output stage (POS) for coupling to the at least one electrode pair; an internal pulse generator for applying an internal pulse to the pulse-shaping output stage; wherein the pulse-shaping output stage comprises a transformer (T) and/or a capacitor system (CS) comprising at least one capacitor such that the internal pulse is transformed into a substantially charge-balanced pulse in the at least one electrode pair (I) when coupled to the pulse-shaping output stage (POS). Systems and methods for pulsed-field ablation with charge-balanced waveforms

The invention relates to an ablation catheter for treatment of a patient's tissue, for example for a PVI procedure on a patient's heart, comprising an elongated catheter shaft and an ablation portion being arranged at a distal end of the catheter shaft with a plurality of electrodes accommodated along the ablation portion, wherein the ablation portion comprises at least two loop sections forming a three-dimensional spiral. In order to increase safety of ablation treatment, spare adjacent tissue (e.g. nerves, vessels, esophagus) and shorten ablation time, a pitch, or clearance of two neighboring loop sections is greater than an ionization threshold of the medium around the distal section, for example blood or gases resulted from electrolysis. The invention further relates to an operation method of such ablation catheter.

Ablation catheter and operation method of same

A sensor system detects a presence or concentration of an analyte in a medium. The sensor system contains a sensor having a sensor head with a chamber. The sensor head has a permeable area through which the analyte can pass into the chamber when the sensor head contacts the medium. A cross-linked hydrogel fills the chamber, the hydrogel is configured to undergo a change in volume when contacting the analyte passed into the chamber which leads to a change in pressure in the chamber. A pressure sensor is configured to measure the pressure in the chamber for detecting the presence or concentration of the analyte.

Implantable pressure sensor

An implantable pressure sensor device () has a housing () which is at least partially made of a pressure transmitting membrane (), and which includes one or more regions which can reversibly deform while maintaining the surface area of the membrane () when the internal volume of the housing () is changed. The housing () has a non-circular cross-section which can deform to a more circular shape when pressure in the internal volume increases. An inner housing is preferably situated within the housing, with its exterior spaced from the interior of the housing, and has its inner volume in fluid communication with the space between the housing and inner housing.

Implantable pressure sensor device

Embodiments of the invention include a biosensor, such as an implantable biosensor, that includes a sensor material sensitive to at least one analyte in a pressure measurement chamber coupled to a pressure sensor. In embodiments of the invention, a pressure prevailing in the pressure measurement chamber may be determined by the pressure sensor. The sensor material is coupled in the pressure measurement chamber to a compensation material, which includes a relationship between a temperature and a volume of the pressure. The relationship is opposite to a temperature-dependent change in pressure or volume of the sensor material and at least partially compensates for a cross-sensitivity-induced change in volume of the sensor material.
