This invention relates to a method for moulding products from a mass of food stuff, comprising: —moving a mould cavity, which is part of a mould member past a feed channel which fills the mass into the cavity, wherein the feed channel is connected to a feed pump which pumps the mass through the feed channel into the cavities. —determining and/or detecting the position of the mould cavity relative to the feed channel, controlling the desired set pressure of the pump.

Methods for filling cavities in a mould member

A system that includes: a production device, a cleaning apparatus, and conveyor means. The production device includes: a mould drum with cavities; a mass feed means for feeding food mass to the cavities; and a gas pressure source to force the products from the cavities. The cleaning apparatus connects to a cleaning fluid source and includes: a control system that controls cleaning of the mould drum; means to clean an outer circumference of the mould drum; means to move the mould drum and/or means to move the means to clean the outer circumference of the mould drum during the cleaning; a collection trough to collect the cleaning fluid, and a cover. A system for forming a food product, the system includes a mould drum that includes a multitude of cavities; a feed channel that feeds the food mass into the cavities; a seal plate located downstream of the feed channel, which seals the cavities against leakage during and/or after filling; a valve provided in the seal plate, the valve includes a piston that reciprocates between a retracted position and an extended position to open and close a connection between the feed channel and the cavities in the mould member. The feed channel is tapered or includes an insert that is tapered in a direction opposite a flow direction of the food mass through the feed channel. The feed channel includes a sloped wall that tapers in a direction opposite a flow direction of the food mass, and the feed channel has a straight wall downstream of the sloped wall.

Method for forming and packaging food products

A process of inserting a stick into a meat patty, which is formed in a food product forming apparatus. The process includes inserting the stick at least partially into the meat patty while a drum of the food product forming apparatus rotates and the stick is moved for insertion into the meat patty by an insertion unit. While the stick is inserted into at least one cavity in one of the rows of cavities, another at least one cavity in another one of the rows of cavities is simultaneously filled with the meat patty.
