The described technology is generally directed towards combining user identity information, corresponding to user profile data, with vehicle information, such as for use by a traffic zone management system that charges a fee for vehicle usage in a traffic zone. A user device, such as a mobile communications device, can be coupled to vehicle information such as via a transponder that is detected by roadside units, or by uploading the combined information to a wireless communications system. Based on the combination of information, different billing rates or the like can be applied to different users and vehicle types. The technology can work with various communication systems, including roadside units and wireless communication networks.

Combining user device identity with vehicle information for traffic zone detection

Selective broadcast of corrective vehicle positioning information using a hyper-precise-positioning (HPP) proxy is presented herein. A system can obtain satellite navigation correction data; assign respective portions of the satellite navigation correction data to defined geographical regions to facilitate respective point-to-multipoint wireless broadcasts of the respective portions of the satellite navigation correction data to respective vehicles that have been determined to be located within the defined geographical regions; and distribute, via respective signaling planes, broadcast requests comprising the respective portions of the satellite navigation correction data to respective wireless access point devices to facilitate the respective point-to-multipoint wireless broadcasts of the respective portions of the satellite navigation correction data&#x2014;such satellite navigation correction data facilitating correction of satellite navigation data that has been received by the respective vehicles.

Selective location-agnostic broadcast of corrective vehicle positioning information using a hyper-precise-positioning proxy

The described technology is generally directed towards generating a simulated virtual experience that represents predicted interaction of a user/vehicle with traffic in a traffic zone. A user who is considering entering a traffic zone (e.g., that charges a fee for usage) can request a simulated virtual experience of what is likely to occur if the user decides to enter. Based on the simulated virtual experience, which can be a graphical visualization in 3D, the user can make an informed decision as to whether to enter and pay, or not enter. User-specific data such as user preferences and other provided criterion can be used with respect to generating the simulated virtual experience. For current users about to enter the zone, current traffic data is used along with historical data in generating the simulated virtual experience.

Traffic pattern detection for creating a simulated traffic zone experience

The described technology is generally directed towards customizable traffic zones that work with wireless communication network, and can be configured based on various data, including traffic data. A vehicle and/or wireless communication network user device within the traffic zone facilitate monitoring of the vehicle/user device. Pricing can be based on entering and exiting the zone, dwell time in the zone, user profile data and other factors such as time of day, day of week and so forth. A customizable traffic zone can be configured and reconfigured as needed, such as to expand or contract a zone, exclude an area, and so forth. User devices can be targeted, including geo-fencing for warning users about to enter a traffic zone that charges for usage, or to provide other relevant messages.

Transmission of a cellular broadcast message, comprising identification data associated with content to be transmitted to the user equipment, is performed using a first communications channel that carries cellular broadcast messages. Based on a determination that the cellular broadcast message relates to an emergency, a periodicity associated with a frequency of cellular broadcast message transmissions can be modified, and a network device can transmit the emergency alert message to the user equipment at the modified periodicity. A second communications channel associated with a communications network protocol can be selected, based on a network transmission condition. A connection can be established via the second communications channel with an application server device based on the identification data, and content from the application server device can be transmitted to the user equipment.
