The present disclosure provides an optical fibre cable. The optical fibre cable includes a plurality of buffer tubes and a plurality of interstitial fillers in spaces between the plurality of buffer tubes. The plurality of interstitial fillers is arranged in spaces between the plurality of buffer tubes. The optical fibre cable may include a plurality of water swellable yarns. There is an optical fibre ribbon stack including a plurality of optical fibre ribbons. The plurality of optical fibre ribbons are stacked to form the optical fibre ribbon stack. The present disclosure provides a fire retardant optical fibre cable includes the plurality of buffer tubes and one or more numbers of interstitial fillers and includes at least one of a thermal resistant water blocking tape, a fire resistant water blocking tape and a Mica tape wrapped over the core of the fire retardant optical fibre cable.

The present disclosure provides an intermittently bonded optical fibre ribbon. The intermittently bonded optical fibre ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibres such that adjacent optical fibre of the plurality of optical fibres is bonded intermittently along the length by a plurality of bonds. The plurality of bonds is defined by a plurality of colours. The plurality of bonds may form a predefined pattern. The predefined pattern may be used for identification of the intermittently bonded optical fibre ribbon.

A buffer tube for an optical fiber cable provided by the present disclosure includes an optical fiber ribbon stack, a first layer, a second layer, an optical fiber cable, a central strength member, a plurality of buffer tubes, a water blocking layer, and a sheath and plurality of rip cords. The first layer is an inner layer of the buffer tube. The first layer is made of a soft material. The soft material of the first layer is one of low smoke zero halogen, thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic polyurethane. The second layer is an outer layer of the buffer tube. The second layer surrounds the first layer. The second layer is made of a hard material. The hard material of the second layer is one of polypropylene, polybutylene terephthalate, and nylon.

The present disclosure provides an intermittently bonded optical fibre ribbon. The intermittently bonded optical fibre ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibres. The plurality of optical fibres has bonded regions and un-bonded regions between adjacent optical fibres of the plurality of optical fibres. The bonded regions have a plurality of bonds. Each bonded region has a bond of the plurality of bonds joining the adjacent optical fibres such that the bond does not cover a top optical fibre region and a bottom optical fibre region of the plurality of optical fibres.

The method provided by the present disclosure is for performing curing during manufacturing of an optical fibre ribbon. The method of the present disclosure performs a first stage of curing and a second stage of curingon a matrix material of the optical fibre ribbon. The first stage of curing is performed using a ribbon die and one or more ultraviolet light emitting diode (UV LED) units. Further, the second stage of curing is performed using a source of the one or more ultraviolet lamps (UV lamps) in an UV chamber.

The method for stacking of the plurality of optical fibre ribbons () includes arranging the plurality of optical fibre ribbons () over each other such that the plurality of elevated regions of each of the plurality of optical fibre ribbons fits over the plurality of groove regions of an adjacent optical fibre ribbon of the plurality of optical fibre ribbons (). In addition, arrangement of the plurality of optical fibre ribbons forms an optical fibre ribbon stack ().

Optical fibre ribbon and optical fibre cables thereof

Present disclosure provides a method for grouping of a plurality of optical fibers using first coating layer and magnetic coating layer. The method of the present disclosure includes the step of coating of each of the plurality of optical fibers with a first coating layer and the step of coating of each of the plurality of optical fibers with a magnetic coating layer. Further, the method includes the step of applying magnetic field over the plurality of optical fibers for grouping of the plurality of optical fibers in a predefined manner. Furthermore, the first coating layer serves as a shock absorber to protect the plurality of optical fibers from physical damage.

Method for grouping of optical fibres

The present disclosure provides an optical fibre ribbon. The optical fibre ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibres bonded with a matrix material. The matrix material is applied along a longitudinal length of the plurality of optical fibres. Further, the plurality of optical fibres is defined by a geometrical centre and diameter. Further, the plurality of optical fibres has a predefined distance between geometrical centres of any two adjacent optical fibres of the plurality of optical fibres. Moreover, the predefined distance between geometrical centres of any two adjacent optical fibres of the plurality of optical fibres is less than 200 microns. Further, the optical fibre ribbon provides the optical fibre ribbon cable that is flexible and easy to install in space constraint regions and allows ribbons to bend easily at non-preferential axis. Furthermore, the optical fibre ribbon with reduced weight and with high mass fusion splicing capability.

Optical fiber ribbon cable

The present disclosure provides a stacking arrangement of an optical fiber ribbon in a buffer tube of an optical fiber cable. The stacking arrangement includes optical fiber ribbon stack, first bendable optical fiber ribbon, second bendable optical fiber ribbon, third bendable optical fiber ribbon, fourth bendable optical fiber ribbon and optical fiber ribbons. The optical fiber ribbon stack includes at least four corners. Each optical fiber at the corresponding four corners of the optical fiber ribbon stack is a bend insensitive optical fiber. One or more optical fibers are placed adjacent to each other at the corresponding four corners of the optical fiber ribbon stack.
