Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In a wireless communication system, a first wireless node may transmit a configuration message indicating one or more spatial configurations for communicating with a second wireless node. A spatial configuration may include one or more different sets of spatial parameters for half-duplex communications and full-duplex communications between the wireless nodes. In some examples, the first wireless node may select a first set of spatial parameters for half-duplex communications or a second set of spatial parameters for full-duplex communications based on an explicit indication or a resource configuration. The wireless nodes may perform half- or full-duplex communications using the first or second set of spatial parameters, respectively, in accordance with the configuration message.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication that the UE supports a plurality of cyclic prefix configurations. The UE may receive, from a network entity, an indication of a first cyclic prefix configuration of the plurality of cyclic prefix configurations, the first cyclic prefix configuration indicating a first symbol period structure that includes a guard interval that occurs in a symbol period prior to a portion of the symbol period copied as a cyclic prefix based at least in part on a delay spread exceeding a length of the cyclic prefix. The UE may communicate one or more messages with the network entity in accordance with the first cyclic prefix configuration.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may generate a first time-domain reference signal sequence of a first sequence length, and may truncate the first sequence length to a second sequence length and may append a header portion and a tail portion to the truncated first time-domain reference signal sequence. The transmitting device may perform a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) on the truncated first time-domain reference signal sequence to generate a frequency-domain reference signal sequence associated with a phase constant, and may perform an inverse fast-Fourier transform (IFFT) on the result of the DFT. The transmitting device may then transmit the result of the IFFT to a receiving device, which may further process the signal by performing a fast-Fourier transform (FFT), dividing by the phase constant, and taking the conjugate of the received sequence.

Reference signal design for zero-tail orthogonal frequency division multiplexing communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration that indicates, within each symbol of a plurality of symbols, an extra guard interval (GI) before data and a tail GI after the data. The UE may decode first data within a first symbol of the plurality of symbols at a first time location that is based at least in part on the extra GI and the tail GI within the first symbol. The UE may decode second data within a second symbol of the plurality of symbols at a second time location that is based at least in part on the tail GI within the second symbol. Numerous other aspects are described.

Extra guard interval

A method for wireless communication at a first network entity and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the first network entity communicates, with a second network entity, information indicative of a guard interval length. The information indicative of the guard interval length is based on transmission information. The first network entity further communicates, with the second network entity, a transmission including one or more symbols. Each symbol of the one or more symbols includes a particular guard interval based on the information indicative of the guard interval length. The method enables the GI length to be flexibly configured depending on various waveforms or channel parameters and characteristics of the transmission. The method enables transmission resources to be fully utilized according to actual operating conditions. Thus, it improves the efficiency and flexibility of wireless communication.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a scheduling device such as a base station which indicates a configuration for decoding control channel information at the UE using a single discrete transform process. In such cases, the configuration may be for decoding control channel information such as downlink control information (DCI) that is time multiplexed with data channel information in one or more symbols of a single carrier waveform. Using the configuration, the UE may decode the control channel information and the data channel information using the discrete transform process.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for centralized beam determination for full duplex (FD) communications. An example method, performed by a wireless node, includes obtaining at least one report indicating information regarding candidate beams, selecting, from the candidate beams, a pair of beams based on the information, and outputting, for transmission, signaling indicating that at least one user equipment (UE) is to use the pair of beams for full duplex (FD) wireless communications on a first link and a second link.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. A UE may identify a beam failure for at least one communication beam at the UE. The UE may determine the reasoning for the beam failure and may include the reasoning in a beam failure recovery (BFR) request. The UE may identify a sidelink relay UE to communicate via sidelink channel and transmit the BFR request to the network entity. The network entity may receive the BFR request from the sidelink relay UE and identify beam switching parameters based on the type of interference that caused the beam failure. The network entity may include the beam switching parameters in a BFR response to the UE. The UE may receive the BFR response and switch to another candidate beam to enable communication to the network entity.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for frequency tracking and timing tracking using wideband reference signals (RSs). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring for a wideband RS from a network entity when one or more conditions are met, the wideband RS occupying a wider band of frequency resources than a tracking reference signal (TRS) transmitted by the network entity; and performing at least one of frequency tracking or timing tracking based on the monitoring.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish, with a network entity, a wireless connection that uses a set of symbols per transmission time interval (TTI) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communications, where each symbol of the set of symbols may correspond to a fast Fourier transform (FFT) window and may include a guard interval (GI) portion and a data portion within the FFT window. In some examples, the UE may receive a control message indicating at least one parameter associated with a power offset between a data signal of the set of symbols and a reference signal of the set of symbols that is associated with the data signal. As such, the UE may communicate with the network entity, the data signal, and the reference signal according to the indicated power offset using the set of symbols.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may support communicating uplink control messages over a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) using a time domain waveform. For example, the base station may configure the UE with a first group of PUCCH resource sets associated with a first type of time domain waveform and a second group of PUCCH resource sets associated with a second type of time domain waveform. The base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) to the UE that indicates a type of time domain waveform and a PUCCH resource of a PUCCH resource set. In response, the UE may select the PUCCH resource set from either the first group or the second group and may transmit an uplink control message using the indicated PUCCH resource and type of time domain waveform.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitting device may add a first extension before modulated symbols of a communication, the first extension including data from an end portion of the modulated symbols. The transmitting device may add a second extension after the modulated symbols, the second extension including data from a beginning portion of the modulated symbols. The transmitting device may apply a first weighting function that overlaps the first extension and the beginning portion of the modulated symbols. The transmitting device may apply a second weighting function that overlaps the end portion of the modulated symbols and the second extension. The transmitting device may add one or more of a header before the first extension or a tail after the second extension. The transmitting device may transmit the communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Method and apparatus to updated PUCCH parameters in response to channel conditions. The apparatus transmits, to a UE, a configuration to update one or more PUCCH parameters. The apparatus identifies a change of channel conditions between the UE and the base station. The apparatus transmits, to the UE, an indication to update the one or more PUCCH parameters based at least on the change of the channel conditions. The apparatus communicates, with the UE, based on a PUCCH having the one or more PUCCH parameters updated.

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating reference signal multiplexing with downlink data are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a reference signal configuration associated with at least one of a tracking reference signal (TRS) and a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), the reference signal configuration comprising a symbol level rate matching configuration, a precoder configuration, or a guard tone configuration. The example method also includes receiving, from the base station, a transmission comprising at least a reference signal and data based on the reference signal configuration.

Reference signal multiplexing with downlink data

In a wireless network, a frame structure may include a padding duration at the start of every half subframe to ensure that an integer number of symbols fit within a duration of the half subframe. In some aspects, to avoid wasting time domain resources, the padding duration may be utilized for other purposes. For example, because a single carrier waveform is not bound to a fixed Fast Fourier Transform size, a wireless node may use the padding duration to transmit a single carrier symbol that has a shorter length than a full symbol associated with a subcarrier spacing. Additionally, or alternatively, in cases where a wireless node is configured to transmit or receive a signal in a first symbol of a half subframe that is associated with a different power level than a preceding symbol, the padding duration may be used to adapt a transmit power or a receive gain.
