The present disclosure relates to a method and system for regulating and/or monitoring a heating device for heating a fluid, which has flowed in an in-flow section of a dialysis fluid circuit. The dialysis fluid circuit is part of a blood treatment apparatus, which comprises a container for receiving the fluid and a heating container for heating the fluid. The method encompasses the step of starting a heating process for heating the fluid in the heating container. The fluid is in fluid communication with the container when the filling level of the container reaches a pre-determined filling level value by means of direct or indirect flow from the inlet.

A device for carrying fluids for a medical treatment device with two balancing chambers, each having two partial chambers. The filling times of the partial chambers are initially determined using a monitoring device, and then the filling times of the first partial chambers of the first and second balancing chambers, are compared to the filling times of the second partial chambers of the first and second balancing chambers, respectively, to detect leakage or an incomplete filling or discharging of the respective partial chambers.

In order to detect a leakage in a fluid system of a blood treatment apparatus having an extracorporeal blood circuit, the pressure in the fluid system is measured continuously during a predetermined period of the duration of treatment, and the leak rates are calculated from the change in the pressure at predetermined time intervals of the predetermined period of the duration of treatment. The leakage volume in the predetermined period of the duration of treatment is calculated from the leak rates, and the leakage volume is compared with a predetermined limit value. If the leakage volume is greater than the limit value, this indicates a possible loss of leaktightness in the system. This can be verified with a conventional pressure-holding test. The method and device are characterized by the fact that it is not necessary in principle to interrupt the blood treatment in order to detect a loss of leaktightness.

Method and device for detecting a leakage in a fluid system of a blood treatment apparatus

A method and device for monitoring vascular access is described. A field coil is placed at a location on an extracorporeal circulation loop connected to the vascular system of a patient, and an induction coil is placed at another different location. A voltage is supplied to the field coil, inducing an electric current in the blood. The current induces a voltage in the induction coil. Monitoring the voltage in the induction coil reveals if vascular access is defective.
