Techniques, described herein, may enable a software defined network (SDN) to determine application program interfaces (APIs) for providing network services. For instance, when a customer submits a request to access media content (e.g., images, music, videos, etc.), the SDN may determine the APIs to enable the network service to be provided to the user with little or no operator involvement. In some implementations, the APIs may be derived by the network dynamically. In some implementations, the APIs may be derived from API records that are stored by the SDN. Additionally, when new APIs are derived for a network service, the APIs may be recorded in case the same request for network services is later received (e.g., from another customer) in which case the record may be promptly used to determine the appropriate APIs for the requested network service.

SDN-based API controller

An approach for managing the use and distribution of power for wearable smart device is described. A wearable platform receives a notification signal for specifying sensor information associated with a sensor of a wearable smart device of a user. The wearable platform also determines a power requirement of the sensor based on the sensor information, contextual information associated with a mobile device of the user, or a combination thereof based on receipt of the signal. Still further, the wearable platform generates a request to regulate a consumption of power by the sensor or other sensors of the wearable smart device, to access a power controller for charging the sensor, or a combination thereof based on the determination, status information associated with the power controller, or a combination thereof.

Method and system for providing power management for a wearable smart device

A device obtains a label from a particular device. The device identifies a first flag, a second flag, a third flag, and a fourth flag from the label. The device determines, based on the first flag, first information indicating a kind of communication used by the particular device. The device determines, based on the second flag, second information indicating a direction the particular device communicates data and/or indicating storage options. The device determines, based on the third flag, third information indicating at least one of service information for the particular device, an energy requirement for the particular device, or a redundancy mechanism for the particular device. The device determines, based on the fourth flag, fourth information indicating an administrative requirement for the particular device. The device manages the particular device or an environment based on at least one of the determined information.

Label for use in the internet of things

A device is configured to store a hash value and an encrypted hash value. The device may broadcast a boot label including the encrypted hash value. The device may receive an administrator label from an administrative device based on the boot label. The administrator label may include a decrypted hash value. The device may determine the decrypted hash value matches the hash value. The device may receive access information from the administrative device based on the decrypted hash value matching the hash value. The access information may associate authorization information and an access level. The access level may be associated with particular data that is permitted to be read from the device. The device may selectively provide the particular data to a control device based on the access information.
