The invention is a passenger compartment heating system for a bus heating system having a closed circuit through which there flows a heat transfer medium. A heat exchanger which is fed on the primary side by a heat-generating unit is used as heat-absorbing part. The inlet temperature and the heat transfer medium are matched to one another in such a way that there is a two-phase liquid/vapor mixture in the passenger heaters, which are arranged in series. The heat exchanger is designed as a capillary block or as a capillary-active porous wall into which the heat is fed on the primary side. The porous wall furthermore divides the vapor-only side from the liquid-only side of the closed circuit of the passenger compartment heating system and, in this region, has virtually only capillary-active channels.

Passenger compartment heating system, in particular bus heating system

The invention relates to a track-guidable omnibus, each of the lockable vehicle wheels of which is preceded by an associated transverse guide roller arranged near the ground, which is mounted in a rigid position relative to the wheel plane of the vehicle wheel by a bracket arm. An easily exchangeable change part, which contains a preferred breaking point, is interposed between the transverse guide roller and the end of the bracket arm in the end region of the bracket arm. This is intended to prevent secondary damage to the steering in the case of ground collisions. In order to prevent 'derailment' from the track in case of a roller breakage during track-guided service of the vehicle, an emergency contact surface, which temporarily and provisionally assumes the function of the transverse guide roller when the latter is broken off, is provided protected between the transverse guide roller and the vehicle wheel. The emergency contact surface may be formed by a small skid or by a small emergency roller.

Track-guidable omnibus

A heat pipe of aluminum is provided on the inside on all sides thereof with a completely closed fluid-tight coating of a water-resistant nickel in order to make the same resistant against water as heat carrier medium or to make the same vacuum-tight for long periods of time. Also, a coating of hard solder material is possible. The coating thickness is no less than 10 .mu.m and no more than 15 .mu.m. Individual parts of the heat pipe, prior to the soldering, are coated with the nickel material, each by itself, completely up to the joint areas. A process of making the heat pipe is also provided.

Heat pipe of aluminum, steel or gray cast iron

A road heating installation which is supplied by heat stored in the ground and which includes heat pipes placed heat-conductingly with the road surface, is provided with sensors for detecting the climate factors relevant for the road condition and is equipped with a control apparatus that controls the heating installation as a function of the climate. In order to remove the heat energy stored in the ground only in case of need and to avoid the unnecessary exhaustion thereof, the invention provides that the heat transfer capacity of the heat pipe is controllable by a reversible blocking of the condensation zones of the heat pipes and the blocking is brought about in case of a dry-cold by the supply of an inert gas into the condensation zones of the heat pipes which is quantity-regulatable directly from the outside.

Method for heating a road by means of geothermally fed heating

A multiple-glass pane heatable from an interstice between the panes and a process for heating the multiple-glass pane. The interstices between the panes constitutes a condensation zone of a flat heat pipe with the heat supply being effected by vapors condensing between the respective panes.

An exhaust-gas offtake for a track-guided vehicle propelled by combustion-energy, the exhaust gas being led into a force-ventilated waste gas duct located above the vehicle, which is anchored to the roof of a tunnel along the route followed. The exhaust pipe of the vehicle extends vertically through the vehicle interior, up to a point above the roof, and is surrounded by a protective tube. A collecting funnel is located on the vehicle roof, which funnel overlaps the end of the exhaust pipe, possesses a transfer pipe with a boat-shaped cross-section and, pivotably mounted on suspension elements, is resiliently directed into an upwards-pointed position. This arrangement enables small horizontal and vertical movements of the vehicle body to be compensated in relation to the tunnel waste gas duct.

A heating system for a dual-mode vehicle, such as a bus equipped with both electrical and internal combustion engine drive systems, is provided with an electrically powered heat exchanger and an auxiliary fuel heater serially connected in the engine cooling water flow line. The electric heat exchanger provides a non-polluting source of heat for the vehicle's interior within electrified portions of the drive route. The auxiliary heater supplies heat when the vehicle is standing (i.e., parked) with the engine shut off in non-electrified portions of the route. An electric water pump is also connected in series with the electric and fuel heaters. During periods of electric drive operation, the electric heater is activated when the engine cooling water temperature falls below a predetermined level even if no heat is required for the vehicle interior. The electric heater prevents the engine from cooling off and, thus, improves exhaust gas characteristics, from an environmental viewpoint, when the engine is re-started.

Heating arrangement for electrically driven vehicles

An engine unit adapted to be lubricated by a liquid lubricant with a lubricant reservoir as well as a lubricant cooling. The cooling takes place by way of at least one heat pipe, with the heat pipe having a heat absorbing portion adapted to be exposed to the lubricant and a heat transmitting portion adapted to be exposed to surrounding air. The engine unit may be an internal combustion engine, a gear system such as a change-speed transmission or differential transmission of a vehicle drive axle.

Engine unit with lubricant cooling

A transverse guide roller arrangement for a vehicle which can be guided mechanically along a guide track or the like provided on the side of a lane. The transverse guide roller arrangement includes at least one rolling surface which is approximately vertical when the guide roller is in an operating position. The rolling surface is formed by a rubber tire mounted on a rim having a hub rotatably supported on a fixed journal attached to an end of a supporting arm or the like. The hub forms radially, without transistion on an outside thereof the rim without a wheel disk, spokes, screw on flange, or the like. The hub and rim are combined structurally into one piece, with the journal being exchangeably attached to the supporting arm.

Transverse guide roller arrangement for a track guided vehicle

A heat transfer system disposed between a heat-emitting zone or heat source and a heat-consuming zone or heat sink in accordance with the heat pipe principle. A vacuum-tight hose conduit is arranged between the heat-emitting zone and the heat-consuming zone at least along a partial region of a heat transfer path. The respective ends of the vacuum-tight hose conduit are threadedly connected in the heat transfer path with the vacuum-tight hose conduit being resistant to the heat transfer medium and being provided with an internal capillary structure for enabling a return of the condensate.

Heat transfer system

A heat transfer system for transferring heat between a heat-emitting zone or heat source and a heat-consuming zone or heat sink in accordance with a heat pipe principle in cases where a limited relative movement takes place between the heat source and the heat sink. A bundle of small tubes extending essentially in parallel to one another and movable relative to one another is arranged at least along a partial zone of a heat transfer path between the heat source and the heat sink. Each individual tube of the bundle of tubes is constructed in accordance with the heat pipe principle.

A vehicle adapted to be selectively operated with or without guide rails or tracks, the vehicle including a steerable vehicle axle means having steerable wheels mounted thereon and at least one non-steerable vehicle axle having non-steerable wheels mounted thereon. The non-steerable vehicle axle is mounted so as to be pivotable in its entirety about a centrally positioned vertically extending pivot axis. Springs are provided for suspending a superstructure of the vehicle with a spring bracket fixedly mounted to an axle body of the non-steerable vehicle axle for supporting the springs at the vehicle. A ring mount segment is provided for mounting the springs at outer ends of the spring bracket so as to be horizontally movable with at least two supporting rollers, each having an axis of rotation disposed approximately toward a pivot center of the non-steerable axis, being attached to an underside of the springs. The supporting rollers are adapted to roll along a flat top side of the ring mount segments and at least one of a shape-mating lateral guide or a safety device is arranged on both sides of the supporting rollers adjacent a mounting arrangement for the supporting rollers. The guide is adapted to engage lateral edges of the ring mount segments and to be inserted, on a freely projecting underside of the ring mount segments, in a lateral groove provided in a shoulder formed at the supporting roller mounting device.

Vehicle adapted to be guided on tracks for the public local passenger

A vehicle adapted to be selectively operated with or without guide rails with the vehicle including a steerable vehicle axle and at least one nonsteerable vehicle axle. The nonsteerable vehicle axle is mounted so as to be entirely pivotable to a limited extent about a centrally positioned vertically extending pivot axis. At least two longitudinally extending control arms are provided for determining a transverse position of the nonsteerable vehicle axle with the longitudinally extending control arms being constructed so as to be variable in length and at least one of selectively lockable in or releasable from a predetermined length required for an exact transverse positioning of the nonsteerable vehicle axle when the vehicle is operated without guide rails. Each of the longitudinally extending control arms includes at least two doubleacting hydraulic cylinder piston units which are disposed in parallel to a bending resistant guide rod slidably received in a guide bore of a guide housing. An arrangement is provided for selectively locking and releasing the longitudinal control arms in and from the various length extended positions with working chambers of each of the piston-cylinder units being in communication with each other by way of pressure equalizing conduits.

A steering mechanism with time derivation wherein a servo member dependent upon an angular velocity of a steering wheel is connected in the manner of a gear system by means of a summing gear mechanism with a servo member dependent on an angle of the steering wheel turn and also with a servo member dependent on an angle of the wheel turn of steered vehicle wheels. A gear element of the summing gear mechanism pertaining to the servo member dependent on the angular velocity is supported toward a housing by way of a resilient support. The servo member dependent on the angular velocity is positively turned off with respect to its action on the summing gear mechanism if the steering wheel angle exceeds a specific limiting angle.

Steering mechanism with time derivation

A public passenger local traffic system with vehicles capable of driving either on streets or guided mechanically transversely in drive channels with at least approximately vertically extending switch guide surfaces being provided within an area of drive channel bifurcations or mergers, which are arranged substantially parallel to the respective outer continuous channel side and point away from the drive channel. The switch guide surfaces serve to guide the vehicles on both sides by means of switch guide rollers which are mounted laterally at the vehicle and having a substantially vertical axis. The switch guide rollers each have an at least approximately vertical roll-off surface in the operating position which cooperates with the switch guide surfaces. The switch guide rollers are supported on switch guide levers whose pivot axes are arranged at least approximately at the same height as the center of the switch guide surface. The roll-off surface of the switch guide-roller, as viewed in vertical cross section, and the switch guide surface, as viewed in cross section, are so profiled relative to one another that the switch guide roller is stabilized during the rolling on the switch guide surface in a center roll height position as a result of the profiling.
