An orthomode coupler for an antenna system, particularly for a multi-feed antenna is provided. The orthomode coupler includes a first signal waveguide for a first RF signal that can propagate in the first signal waveguide, along a first axis, as well as a second signal waveguide for a second RF signal that can propagate in the second signal waveguide, along a second axis, where the second axis is disposed parallel to the first axis. Furthermore, the orthomode coupler includes a septum polarizer in which the first and second signal waveguide end, and a common signal waveguide having a third axis, along which a transmission and reception signal can propagate, where the third axis runs parallel to the first and the second axis, and where the common signal waveguide is coupled with the septum polarizer. The common signal waveguide includes a further polarizer.

Orthomode coupler for an antenna system

A diplexer for a reflector antenna includes a common circular signal waveguide to transmit and receive signals. The signal waveguide includes first and second ends with a common port provided at the first end. A waveguide arrangement is disposed coaxially relative to the signal waveguide in the region of the second end of the signal waveguide. A cylindrical coupler section is disposed between the first and second ends of the signal waveguide, and connects the waveguide arrangement to the common signal waveguide. In order to create a first and second coaxial waveguide port, the waveguide arrangement includes a first circular waveguide, an inner conductor is disposed inside, in which a first signal can propagate when the diplexer is operating, and a second circular waveguide, surrounding the first waveguide, in which a second signal can propagate at a lower frequency than the first signal when the diplexer is operating.

Diplexer for a reflector antenna

A method for calibrating an array antenna having a plurality of branches includes generating a test signal using a pseudo-random sequence assigned to one of the plurality of branches for each of the plurality of branches; adding the test signals to a useful signal of the antenna so as to form a summed signal emitted via the array antenna; receiving the summed signal with a receiver antenna; correlating the received summed signal with a replica of the pseudo-random sequence so as to produce a correlation result; estimating a characteristic of one of the plurality of branches by processing the correlation result; and calibrating the antenna based on the estimated characteristic.

Method and device for calibrating an array antenna

A signal branch for use in a communication system, in particular in a reflector antenna, for the transmission of microwave signals is provided. The signal branch includes a common signal wave guide for transmitting a transmission signal and a received signal that has one first end and one second end as well as an exterior and interior. Moreover, a plurality of transmission signal wave guides is provided for feeding the transmission signal, with the transmission signal wave guides being disposed on the exterior of the common signal wave guide in a symmetrically distributed manner and each being communicatively connected to the common signal wave guide. A plurality of receiver signal wave guides is provided for transmitting the received signal, with the receiver signal wave guides being symmetrically adjacent to the second end of the common signal wave guide and each being communicatively connected to the common signal wave guide.

Signal branch for use with correction information in a communication system

The invention concerns an arrangement for the adjustment of the position of a shearbar with respect to knives of a chopper assembly. The arrangement includes a first adjusting drive to position the first end of the shearbar at a predetermined first spacing from the knives and a second adjusting drive to position the second end of the shearbar with respect to the knives until a spacing measurement arrangement indicates that the spacing between the shearbar and the knives is less than a threshold value. An analogous procedure is applied to the first adjusting drive. On the basis of the measurement values the shearbar is brought into a position that corresponds to a desired gap between the shearbar and the knives. Each of the first spacing and the second spacing are greater than the desired gap between the shearbar and the knives.

Arrangement for the adjustment of a shearbar with respect to a chopper assembly and a method of adjustment thereof

A forage harvester chopper arrangement is located within a housing provided with an access door mounted for pivoting vertically between a chopping position, wherein access to the chopping arrangement is prevented, and a grinding position, permitting access to the chopping arrangement by a grinding arrangement. A locking arrangement is associated with the access door and an actuator is coupled to the access door and the locking arrangement by a linkage containing lost-motion means which operates such that when moving the access door to its grinding position, the locking arrangement is moved to its unlocked position prior to the access door being raised to its grinding position, and such that when returning the access door to its chopping position, the access door is closed before the locking arrangement is moved to its locked position.

A centrally fed reflector antenna system has an effective reflector surface shaped so that the maximum of the copolar far field lies on the illuminated coverage area corresponding to the far field requirements, and the minimum of the copolar near field lies at the feed system, e.g. at the aperture of a feed horn.

Centrally fed antenna system and method for optimizing such an antenna system

An automatic grinding device for sharpening the knives of a forage harvester chopper drum includes a controller including a counter for counting the number of times the grindstone is adjusted toward the chopper drum during sharpening operation. The controller includes a microprocessor having a non-volatile memory in which may be stored a threshold value, determined by the type of grindstone, to which the count of the counter may be compared for generating a signal indicating the degree of wear of the grindstone so that it may be replaced when worn out.

Grinding device

A grinding arrangement for grinding knives of a chopper drum of a forage harvester includes a movement arrangement for effecting movement of a grinding stone over the length of each of the knives, where individual locations of the knives can be associated with differing grinding times in order that the knives be ground to produce a desired cylindrical profile. A control for the movement arrangement may include either a sensor for determining the need for grinding a given knife at a precise location along the knife and the grinding time required for achieving a desired profile, or predetermined information stored in memory which operates to automatically cause a certain amount of grinding time to elapse in accordance with a specific axial position of the grinding stone.

A waveguide antenna has two orthogonal feeds from coaxial conductors into a round or square waveguide sections. The feeds are coupled into the waveguide section by first and second coupling devices arranged orthogonally about the main axis of the antenna.

The invention provides a reflector antenna, especially for a communications satellite, having at least one fixed main reflector (102) with an essentially circular aperture. A fixed feed system (118) includes a horn radiator (108) with a rotationally symmetric radiation diagram and a fixed polarization direction. An auxiliary reflector may be arranged to be rotationally positionable around a main axis (E) and has a reflecting surface that is shaped as a partial surface of a nonrotationally symmetric ellipsoid with a low numerical eccentricity, which illuminates main reflector (102) elliptically with an ellipticity that is essentially constant regardless of the rotational position.

Reflector antenna, especially for a communications satellite

Transport arrangements for cutting heads or the like have previously been configured as independent one or two-axle trailers upon which the implement could be deposited. The disadvantage is that thereby a self-supporting construction is required which entails high costs. In another known embodiment a two wheel trailer is attached to both the front and the rear end of the implement, which is costly and increases the length of the complete rig. The transport arrangement proposed consists of a draft tongue and a trailer, where the tongue is inserted into and secured to the implement and the trailer is attached underneath the implement. Transport arrangements of this type are used to transport agricultural implements.
