A method for melt spinning, stretching, and winding a multifilament thread to form an FDY-yarn as well as a device for performing the method are presented. Hereby, a plurality of filaments are first extruded from thermoplastic melt, cooled to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic material, and gathered to form a filament bundle without adding a preparation fluid. The filament bundle is then drawn-off at a speed above 1,500 m/min., heated to have a temperature above the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic material, and stretched at a drawing speed above 4,000 m/min. Preparation of the filament bundle with a preparation fluid and winding the thread to form a spool is then performed. The device has the preparation device arranged in a zone of the thread course between the drawing device and the winding device, in which the thread has a thread-running speed above 4,000 m/min.

Method for melt spinning, stretching, and winding a multifilament thread as well as a device for performing the method

An apparatus for melt spinning and winding up synthetic yarns comprising a spinning appliance, a treating appliance and a windup machine. The treating appliance comprises a runoff godet for guiding the yarns before entry and distribution of the yarns into a plurality of winding stations in the windup machine, the runoff godet being arranged above the windup machine and guiding the yarns in a parallel side by side arrangement on its circumference. The runoff godet is arranged transversely to a winding spindle and above the windup machine, the windup machine comprising a plurality of head yarn guides which are disposed upstream of the winding stations and are arranged in a vertically oriented runup plane. To ensure a very low-friction guidance for the yarns, the invention provides that the head yarn guides of the winding stations are disposed downstream of the runoff godet immediately in the yarn path and such that on deflection of the yarns into the runup plane an angle of deflection of not more than 15&#xb0; is not exceeded.

Apparatus for melt spinning and windup of synthetic yarn

An apparatus and method for applying a lubricant to an advancing yarn, to facilitate the further processing of the yarn, and wherein the lubricant is composed of a plurality of components such as an emulsion of water and oil. The apparatus includes separate containers for the components of the lubricant, and a feed device for combining and mixing the components in a mixing chamber. The feed device also includes a pump for delivering the resulting lubricant to a wetting device which applies a metered quantity of the lubricant to the yarn. Provision is also made for maintaining a desired mixing ratio of the components of the lubricant.

Lubrication apparatus and method of applying a lubricant

A method and an apparatus for spinning, drawing, and winding a synthetic filament yarn, wherein a plurality of filaments are combined in a spin zone to a yarn. Subsequently, the yarn is drawn in a draw zone which includes a draw godet, and then wound in a takeup zone to form a package. To produce a cohesion of the yarn, the filaments are entangled within the draw zone before the yarn leaves the draw godet.
