The present invention relates to polyamide moulding compounds which have very low distortion with good mechanical properties. This is achieved by a combination of transparent polyamide with fibrous reinforcing materials and also particulate fillers. The moulding compounds according to the invention are used for the production of any moulded articles, semi-finished products or finished products.

Polyamide moulding compound and use thereof

The invention relates to a housing from a polyamide molding compound containing 70 to 99.5% by weight of at least one thermoplastic polyamide and 0.5 to 30% by weight of at least one polyamide oligomer with linear or branched chain structure with a number average molar mass of 800 to 5000 g/mol with basic end groups which are at least partially NHend groups, and carboxyl end groups, one of these end groups being present in excess and the concentration of the end group present in excess being at most 300 mmol/kg.

Polyamide molding materials with an improved flowability, the production thereof and its use

Two-layered or three-layered polymer tubing for use as a pressurized fluid conduit in automobiles can be either walled or have walls continuously or partially corrugated. The tubing has an outer layer of a hard polymer molding material and an inner layer of a soft rubber-like polymer or a polymer mixture. The inner layer can be provided on the innerside with a layer of a thermoplastic adhesion-modified elastomer composition. The a materials are selected for the layers to provide a so-called 'hard-soft-combination'. The rubber-like polymer composition has a hardness in the range of 30 Shore A to 60 Shore D, especially of about 30 Shore A to 90 Shore A, the compositions being selected so that they are processable by coextrusion or the so-called conex method and adhere directly to each other non-positively or positively fitted, i. e. without additional bonding agent, without delaminating.

Multilayer polymer hose line or tubing having reduced length variations

The car industry increasingly uses plastic optical fibers whose protective sheathing () is made of a polyamide. As unmodified PA poorly adheres to the fluoropolymers often used as the material for the fiber cladding (), the plastic optical fiber () moves in relation to the protective sheathing () when the temperature varies. To suppress this effect referred to as 'pistoning', the connectors and holders of the optical fibers must apply very large clamping forces to the protective sheathing () and the plastic optical fiber () arranged therein, resulting in an increased signal attenuation. The use of a modified PA can clearly improve the adherence of the protective sheathing () to the cladding () of a plastic optical fiber which is made of a fluoropolymer. As the protective sheathing material, particularly a modified PA 12 whose maximum concentration of the carboxyl terminal groups of the polyamide is 15 &#x3bc;eq/g and whose concentration of the amino terminal groups is in the range of 50 &#x3bc;eq/g to 300 &#x3bc;eq/g may be used.

Optical wave-guide

A reusable blasting medium of a thermoplastically processable polymer granulate filled with finely divided metal, the metal particles being coated with an adhesion promoter. The medium is suitable for the deflashing of cast metal parts, in particular ground, die-cast metal parts. The invention further relates to a process for the production of the blasting medium, including intimately mixing a polymer granulate of a commercial thermoplast, such as polyamide and/or polycarbonate, with a metal such as iron, copper, tin, stainless steel, brass, and/or bronze. The particles are coated with an adhesion promoter, the metal particles are in finely divided spherical form or a powder and the particle sizes are 0.01 to 0.5 mm. This mixture is extruded in the usual manner, preferably as a ribbon, and thereafter is reduced to the desired form and size. The blasting medium has the form of cubic particles of an edge length of 0.75 to 2.0 mm.
