An arrangement for positioning a transformer in a rail vehicle, where the rail vehicle has a transformer support which fastens the transformer at a predetermined position in the rail vehicle. The transformer support is arranged on an underframe of the rail vehicle. The transformer is connected to the transformer support via a sliding guide, wherein a positional change of the transformer relative to the underframe of the rail vehicle can be set by way of the sliding guide. The sliding guide is a hydrostatic sliding guide.

A transformer holding device for an electric locomotive having a transformer, includes at least one transformer support which is configured in such a way that the transformer can be displaced on an underframe of the electric locomotive during a maintenance operation so that the electric locomotive attains a predetermined center of gravity position. A method for braking a rail vehicle with a brake system includes providing an open-loop and/or closed-loop control device having a wheel slide protection control unit for ensuring a predefined coefficient of adhesion between the wheels of the rail vehicle and the rail, in which brake demand signals of different origin are taken into account by the open-loop and/or closed-loop control device. A slide protection function of the wheel slide protection control unit is deactivated for braking that is free of slide protection when at least two brake demand signals having different origin and having a brake demand which exceeds a specified deceleration limit, are present at the same time. A corresponding open-loop and/or closed-loop control device for a brake system and such a brake system are also provided.

A compressed-air rack for an electric locomotive includes an electric assembly that is inserted between sheet metal walls of the compressed-air rack and is provided with electric modules which are accessible from the front. In order to be able to produce the electric assembly in a comparatively inexpensive manner and to mount the same with relative ease in the compressed air rack, the electric assembly includes a frame that has no rear wall and has open sides and reinforcing transverse members similar to a skeleton, and electric modules are mounted on the transverse members.

A brake system for a rail-guided tractive vehicle includes electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical components, as well as vehicle interfaces for connecting the brake system to the tractive vehicle. The invention provides a brake system that can be adapted easily and economically to different requirements of the customers, and in particular to different locomotives. For that purpose, the components are housed in modules respectively having predetermined spatial measurements and each module has at least one predetermined electric or pneumatic vehicle interface, with respect to their spatial position within the module and also with respect to their operational variables.
