A method of supplying treatment parameters for a dialysis treatment includes supplying a predetermined machine-related data record of machine-related treatment parameters that are stipulated independently of the treatment of a specific patient, supplying a patient-related data record from patient-related treatment parameters of a patient to be treated, independently of a dialysis machine or a type of device provided for the treatment, selecting a machine-related data record for a specified dialysis treatment, and using the machine-related data record and the patient-related data record to generate a treatment data record for defining treatment parameters of the dialysis treatment to be performed.

Device and method for supplying treatment parameters for treatment of a patient

A method for monitoring the treatment of a patient in his home environment is provided. The method includes supplying treatment-related data to a home treatment unit, transmitting the treatment-related data from the treatment, analyzing the treatment-related data with respect to an ideal state or a normal state or for the success of a treatment by the monitoring unit, detecting a deviation from an ideal state or a normal state, requesting additional treatment-related data from the home treatment site with respect to the deviation found, supplying the additional treatment-related data, and transmitting the additional treatment-related data to the monitoring unit.

Device and method for monitoring the treatment of a patient

A method for measurement of mass and energy transfer parameters (clearance and dialysance) in hemodialysis. A sensor is provided in the dialysate flow path downstream of the dialyzer and means are provided to add concentrate upstream of the dialyzer. A pre-determined amount of a substance whose dialysance is to be measured is added upstream of the dialyzer. The amount of substance not dialyzed in the dialyzer is measured downstream of the dialyzer by said sensor by integrating the concentration over time. Dialysance is calculated from the amount added upstream, the amount measured downstream and the dialysate flow. In case the substance is part of the dialysate the base concentration is subtracted during integration. The addition of the concentrate upstream of the dialyzer can be done manually or, alternatively by the mixing pump of the dialysis machine. Instead of an increase of the concentration with a concentrate dilution with water can be used as well.
