A hand-held working tool has a drive motor and a grip connected at a distance to the drive motor. Operating elements, including a throttle lever, a choke actuator, and a short-circuiting switch, are connected to the grip for controlling the drive motor. A transmission device, including a Bowden cable arrangement with a sleeve and a cable enclosed by the sleeve, is provided for connecting the operating elements to the drive motor. The transmission device has an inner tube inserted into the Bowden cable arrangement wherein the inner tube is positioned between the sleeve and the cable so as to be longitudinally displaceable relative to the sleeve and the cable.

A hand-held working tool has a motor housing and a motor with output shaft positioned in the motor housing. A clutch housing is connected to the motor housing. A centrifugal clutch is positioned in the clutch housing. A drive shaft with a first and a second end is provided. The centrifugal clutch detachably connects the output shaft to the first end of the drive shaft. The centrifugal clutch has fly weights connected to the output shaft and a clutch drum connected to the first end of the drive shaft. This clutch drum surrounds the output shaft and the fly weights. A cutting element is connected to the second end of the drive shaft. A protective tube having a proximal end connected to the clutch housing and a distal end connected to the cutting element is provided. The drive shaft is enclosed in the protective tube. A bearing element is positioned at the first end of the drive shaft. Radial play is provided between the bearing element and the first end of the drive shaft. This radial play is smaller than the distance between the fly weights and the clutch drum.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine for a portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw or the like. The internal combustion engine includes a cylinder defining a combustion chamber and having an inlet passage for conducting a fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. The cylinder has an annular flange formed thereon and is disposed in surrounding relationship to the inlet passage. An intake pipe defines a longitudinal axis and has an end section. The end section and the annular flange are axially inserted one into the other in overlapping relationship to each other. The annular flange and the end section conjointly define an annular space therebetween radially of the longitudinal axis and a seal is clamped between the annular flange and the end section in the annular space.

A drive device has a housing and an internal combustion engine positioned in the housing. The engine has a crankshaft. A cable starter with a cable and a cable reel for receiving the cable is provided. The cable has a handle at its free end. A cable guide sleeve through which the cable is guided is provided. The crankshaft extends through the cable starter. A clutch with a clutch casing and a support for the cable starter are provided. The support is arranged between the housing and the clutch casing. The support has radially extending arms whereby one of the arms has a securing device for the cable guide sleeve. The securing device has a securing connection selected from the group consisting of a snap connection, a catch connection, and a clip connection.

Exchangeable sleeve bearing for a vegetation cutter apparatus

A cable holder for relieving strain on the current-supply cable of a portable handheld electrically-operated work apparatus such as a lawn mower or brushcutter. The cable holder includes a chamber fixed to the apparatus and a closure piece which is pivotally journalled on the chamber. The closure piece and a wall of the chamber conjointly define a latch for holding a segment of the cable. In its at-rest position, the closure piece blocks access to the receptacle for the cable segment to be clamped with the receptacle being defined by the chamber. The cable segment held by the cable holder is part of a cable loop of an extension cable for supplying current to the work apparatus from a remote location. The cable segment is inserted into the receptacle by pushing the cable segment into the chamber thereby causing the closure piece to pivot into its release position. Thereafter, the closure piece is returned to its at-rest position, which is now effectively a clamping position. Part of the closure piece is formed as a grab portion which can be pulled by an operator to open the clamp.

The invention relates to a portable handheld work apparatus having an electric drive motor mounted in a housing. A switch unit switches a supply voltage onto the drive motor. The switch unit is actuated by a switching extension of a switching lever journalled in a handle of the work apparatus. The switching lever has an actuating portion which extends outwardly from the handle housing. An elastic resilient tongue is arranged on the switching lever in order to ensure a trouble-free opening of the electric contacts of the switch unit and to ensure that an adequate contact spacing in the at-rest position is maintained. The tongue lies against an abutment fixed in the housing and the switching lever is held under a spring force against an at-rest stop in the handle housing.

The invention is directed to a portable handheld tool such as a brushcutter which includes a work tool assembly and a drive motor connected by a drive shaft. The drive shaft is surrounded by a protective tube and is centrally held therein by means of a bearing sleeve unit. The bearing sleeve unit braces itself against the inner peripheral wall surface of the protective tube via outwardly extending support ribs. The bearing sleeve unit defines a bearing bore for holding and guiding the drive shaft within the protective tube. The bearing bore and the drive shaft conjointly define an annular bearing play gap therebetween whereby frictional heat generated in the bearing sleeve unit is reduced while vibrations of the drive shaft are developed and imparted to the bearing sleeve unit. The support ribs are configured so as to be resilient in the radial direction to attenuate the vibrations imparted to the bearing sleeve unit. A plurality of impact ribs extends substantially radially from the outer surface of the center portion for impacting against the inner wall surface in response to the vibrations thereby limiting the amplitude thereof.

The invention relates to a closure for closing a vessel for holding liquid such as a fuel tank or the like. The closure includes a cylindrical, cup-shaped base body having an internal thread. The base wall of the base body has an inner wall surface on which a centrally aligned annular wall is formed. A flat sealing ring is arranged between the annular wall and the cylindrical wall. The sealing ring is arranged so as to have radial play with respect to the annular wall and a radially projecting insert is attached to the base wall of the base body. The insert has a side facing toward the base wall and includes a centering ring on this side which coacts with the annular wall to align the insert with respect to the base body. At least one attachment element is arranged within the centering ring and bridges the gap between the insert and the base wall. The insert is fixed to the base wall with the attachment element.
