Electromagnetic relay and a method for its production

Electromagnetic relay

In an electromagnetic power relay, a spring carrier and a cooperating contact element are plugged into slots in a base member from two opposite sides. Terminal rails extending parallel along the outside walls of the base member to an end face of the relay have, at the end face, portions which are crimped inwardly within pockets in the housing cap. The terminal elements then emerge from the outside walls of the relay at a predetermined insulating distance from the side walls of the relay and form solder and plug terminals. Within the pockets, the terminal elements are provided with fastening projections for anchoring, the fastening projections lying in the inwardly offset planes of the terminal elements. An adequate insulating distance from the side walls of the relay is, thus, provided so that the relays may be tightly grouped on a printed circuit board.

Electromagnetic power relay

A relay with a moveable contact element which is actuated through armature movement transmitted via a slide is switched by the application of torsional forces to the movable contact element. The torsional forces are generated by the slide pushing the leaf spring contact element eccentrically in the region of one edge so that twisting of the contact element occurs during the switching event. A lower spring modulus for a spring of predetermined thickness and dimensions result so that a smaller magnetic system and a smaller overall relay is achieved given matching of the spring force curve to the magnetic system force curve.

Electromagnetic power relay with actuation slide

A relay having a coil body with two contact spaces extending parallel to the coil body axis is provided with two tongue armatures arranged oppositely in parallel fashion through the contact spaces. The coil body has coil flanges at the opposite ends and the tongue armatures are plugged into the contact space from opposite one of the coil flanges to extend to an air gap between pairs of pole pieces arranged at the other coil flange. The pole pieces are arranged in pairs adjacent the terminal end of the other tongue armature. On each of the pairs of pole pieces is a flat four-pole permanent magnet having two outside poles coupled to a contact end of the appertaining tongue armature via a flux plate. The permanent magnet areas which are allocated individually to each pole piece to enable independent balancing to be performed so that synchronous switching of the tongue armatures is achieved.

Polarized armature contact relay

A polarized electromagnetic relay has an armature extending through an axial opening in a coil body, a free end of the armature being switchable between two planar pole plates. The pole plates each have pole members disposed opposite one another and each further have top and bottom stop tabs received in spacer members which are a part of a flange of the coil body. Each pole plate with the pole members and stop tabs is stamped in a single cutting from sheet material. By positioning the stop tabs within the spacer members, a precise contact spacing between the two pole plates is insured with a low tolerance during assembly.

Polarized electromagnetic relay

A polarized miniature relay incorporates a rod-shaped armature pivotally mounted at one end and axially arranged within the coil member with its free end projecting between two oppositely magnetically polarized pole shoes coupled with two opposite poles of a quadripole permanent magnet. A flux plate is connected to the other poles of the permanent magnet and has an aperture which supports the armature for pivoting motion in contact therewith. A very low reluctance for the magnetic circuit results in the magnetic flux paths of the relay.

Polarized electromagnetic miniature relay

An improved polarized relay characterized by a coil body being received in a recess of a base body along with a permanent magnet arrangement which has a pair of pole plates extending in a common plane with portions bent to form an air gap for receiving a free end of an armature, a flux plate extending perpendicular to the axis of the coil and having a recess to mount the armature and segments extending parallel to the pole plates to form spaces for receiving at least one permanent magnet with the recess being entirely closed by a protective covering so that the only exposure of the magnet arrangement and coil to the contacts is through an opening in which the armature extends to actuate the movable contact element. The polarized relay due to the insulation of the magnet arrangement and the coil is particularly adapted for contacts handling high currents at high ambient temperatures.

A relay having a coil body 1 with a tongue-shaped armature mounted on the inside of the coil body and the armature is secured at one end 6a to a first coil flange 4 and its free end moveable between two pole plates 8 which are in the vicinity of the second coil flange 5. At the end where the armature 6 is fastened the coil flange 4 comprises a rim bead which together with the retaining webs 21 of the armature 6 form a planar seating surface for a sealing film 12 and at the other end of the coil flange 5 the two pole plates 8 together with spacing members of the coil body form a planar seating surface for a sealing film 9 and a good seal of the relay is obtained due to such simple structure while maintaining good magnetic coupling.

Electromagnetic relay and method for manufacturing such relay

A relay formed of a coil body as a base body with a central opening passing therethrough and having an armature or contact tongue element positioned in said opening in an axial direction. One end of the tongue element is fastened and has fastening tabs at both sides of a central tongue. The fastening elements are fixed by means of a hardened glue in relatively broad grooves of a flange of the base body. During assembly, the contact tongue can be brought into a defined position by mechanical, magnetic or pneumatic means and can be fixed in this final position by means of introducing a fast-setting glue into the grooves so that subsequent adjustment is no longer necessary.

Electromagnetic relay and method for the manufacture thereof

An electromagnetic relay is provided which has a core yoke embedded in a base body, the core yoke comprising a yoke leg at both coil ends which proceed perpendicular to the coil axis. A U-shaped armature has its first lateral leg seated on the first yoke leg and has its second lateral leg forming an operating air gap relative to the second yoke leg. A contact and bearing spring is secured to the armature, the contacting end of the contact and bearing spring laterally embracing the armature and the core yoke and interacting at that side of the core yoke which lies opposite the armature with at least one cooperating contact plate.

The improved relay includes two hollow coil bodies which are in axial alignment on a common base. A beam rotating armature extends through the inside of the coil bodies in the axial direction. A bearing element composed of an insulating material is provided in the central portion of the armature, the bearing element including center contact springs which are embedded parallel to the armature. By means of the bearing element, the armature is embedded by means of neck portions in the base and in a sole plate which connects the two coil bodies. The two ends of the armature form working air gaps with a pair of yokes, the yokes being angularly positioned and being actuated by two permanent magnets which lie above the coil bodies.

Electromagnetic rotating armature relay

A contact arrangement encompasses at least two stationary and at least two movable contact elements actuatable in common, whereby all contact elements can be connected in series over bridge contact elements which reside opposite one another and which are mutually offset. A multiplication of the contact spacing and an increase of the making and/or breaking capacity of the relay is therefore provided.
