The braking-pressure control system is characterized in that the pneumatic brake booster ( ) is designed in a manner allowing it to already reach its saturation point (A , A ) at a main-cylinder pressure (P ) of less than 50 bar.

Brake pressure control device, especially for a road vehicle

A brake pressure control device is described. The device includes a pneumatic brake booster which has at least two chambers that are separable from each other. At least one of the chambers can be operated as a low-pressure chamber and at least another one of the chambers can be oerated as a working chamber. The device further includes a master braking cylinder in which a master cylinder pressure is generated over the pneumatic brake booster, and a hydraulic unit, which is installed between the master cylinder and at least one wheel brake cylinder of at least one wheel. The hydraulic unit includes an arrangement of switchable valves as well as least one pump. A hydraulic boost of the brake pressure is achievable with the assistance of the hydraulic unit. A wheel brake cylinder pressure may be generated in the at least one wheel brake cylinder with the assistance of the hydraulic unit, the wheel brake cylinder pressure being greater than the master cylinder pressure. A drive input point can be determined at which the hydraulic unit is activated taking into account the time-related derivation of the master cylinder pressure, the differential pressure between the pressure in the working chamber and the ambient pressure when the brake pedal is unactivated, as well as of the time-related derivation of the differential pressure between the pressure in the working chamber and the ambient pressure.

The invention relates to a hydraulic vehicle brake system with a master cylinder, with two brake circuits (I, II), with wheel brakes connected to the brake circuits (I, II), and with a wheel slip regulator device disposed between the master cylinder and the wheel brakes, which device has at least one brake pressure modulation valve device and at least one high pressure pump, and with a pump unit associated with this high pressure pump. In the automatic braking operation by means of at least one of the high pressure pumps, the pump unit is used for supplying hydraulic fluid to the high pressure pump. The pump unit has a low pressure pump in the form of a gear pump. To limit the pressure at an outlet of the low pressure pump at least one return flow conduit is provided between this outlet and an inlet, which conduit, in a manner according to the invention constitutes a throttle by which the choice of its cross section, which throttle is for controlling at least one return flow which increases with increasing pressure at the outlet and as a result achieves the pressure limiting. The hydraulic vehicle brake system can be used for cars, minibuses, and small trucks.

During ASR control of spinning drive wheels, the pressure level in the wheel brake with the highest pressure level is modulated by driving a switching valve USV which affects the pressure in all the wheel brakes of the brake circuit, whereas the pressure level in the other wheel brake or brakes is controlled by way of wheel-specific inlet and outlet valves. The intake control valve ASV is kept open through the entire ASR control period. As a result, the electrically actuated ASV can be replaced by a hydraulically actuated ASV.
