At least one sensing region is formed on the bending sensor by providing a flexurally elastic base cover which is interrupted in at least one partial region of the sensing region or is structured using elevations and/or depressions. At least one planar optical fiber core is generated on the base cover. The optical fiber core has a greater index of refraction than the base cover. The optical fiber core is covered by a shroud. The optical fiber core has a greater index of refraction than the shroud.

Method for producing a bending sensor

A cable network with a light waveguide cable which is introduced in the pipeline of an existing pipeline system. The light waveguide cable is arranged along a line, preferably at the vertex of the pipeline, and is provided with a protective layer so that a smooth transition exists between the wall surfaces of the pipeline and the cable.

A solid optical lead formed by a light waveguide having at least two coatings composed of plastic material having an outer layer which is applied directly on the inner layer and is constructed as a flame-retardant layer. The outer layer is constructed as a halogen-free material and comprises an additive that will prevent an adhesion between the outer layer and the inner layer and, thus, assures a good strippability of the outer layer from the inner layer.
