A method includes generating an input voltage for an operational amplifier from a received electromagnetic signal in a receiver unit by an input resistance and generating an output voltage by the operational amplifier by a fixed amplification factor. The input voltage is changed until the output voltage lies within a predefined interval that includes the value of the reference voltage. The input voltage is tapped at a divider node of a voltage divider. The gate voltage of the MOS transistor, operating within a nonlinear range and connected to the divider node, is changed to adjust the output voltage to the reference voltage such that a forward resistance of the transistor is changed nonlinearly. A field strength value received by the receiver unit is determined from a comparison of the value of the present gate voltage with quantities assigned to stored gate voltage values.

Method for obtaining field strength information

A passive entry and/or passive go system and am associated operating method is provided. According to an embodiment of the invention, the following steps are performed in an electronic key of the passive entry and/or passive go system: generation of a reference input value, supplying the antenna circuit with the reference input value, measurement of the characteristic parameters, while the antenna circuit is supplied with the reference input value, storage of the characteristic parameters, measurement of a first output value of the antenna circuit, and determination of the field strength from the first output value and the characteristic parameters, whereby an effect of the characteristic parameters on the field strength is compensated. Passive entry and/or passive go system and associated operating method

A method for obtaining field strength information from a received electromagnetic signal by a receiver unit, in which an input voltage is generated for an operational amplifier from the received signal in the receiver unit by an input resistance and an output voltage is generated by the operational amplifier by a fixed amplification factor. The input voltage is changed until the output voltage lies within a predefined interval that includes the value of the reference voltage, and hereby the input voltage is tapped at a divider node of a voltage divider and to adjust the output voltage to the reference voltage the gate voltage of the MOS transistor, operating within a nonlinear range, and connected to the divider node is changed in such a way that the forward resistance of the MOS transistor is changed substantially logarithmically and the field strength value received by the receiver unit is determined from a comparison of the value of the present gate voltage with the quantities assigned to the gate voltage values in a memory.

A method detects relaying of a contactless data communication by a radio amplifier for intercepting and manipulating the communication to achieve an unauthorized authentication. The method involves transmitting an electromagnetic field successively from at least two spatially separated antennas of a transmitting unit, receiving the transmitted fields in a receiving unit, determining field strength vectors of the received fields allocated to each antenna, and comparing actual values of the vectors with prescribed nominal values stored in a nominal value field that maps the true field strength distribution in multi-dimensional space around the transmitting unit. The actual field strength magnitude and the reception angle between the transmitting antennas can be determined from the vectors and compared with stored nominal values in this manner. When the determined actual values match prescribed nominal values of the nominal value field, the occurrence of a relaying of the signal can be reliably excluded.

In the method of the invention for determining the field strength of a carrier signal at an antenna of an antenna circuit of an electronic key, whereby the antenna circuit generates an output value, which is a function of the field strength and a function of characteristic parameters of the antenna circuit, comprises the steps: generation of a reference input value, supplying the antenna circuit with the reference input value, measurement of the characteristic parameters, while the antenna circuit is supplied with the reference input value, storage of the characteristic parameters, measurement of a first output value of the antenna circuit, and determination of the field strength from the first output value and the characteristic parameters, whereby an effect of the characteristic parameters on the field strength is compensated. A receiving unit including an operational amplifier having a fixed gain receives an electromagnetic signal, from which a voltage divider with a variable resistance generates an input voltage for the amplifier. The amplifier's output voltage is compared with a reference voltage. The variable input resistance is adjusted to vary the amplifier's input voltage, until the amplifier's output voltage lies within a defined range around the reference voltage. This adjusted resistance value is compared with nominal resistance values previously stored in a value field and respectively allocated to field strength values, to determine a field strength of the received signal. Method and circuit for obtaining field strength information

A data transmission system and method in which digitalized information is transmitted via a data transmission link in complete binary words from a transmitter to a receiver. For data transmission, a complete binary word with a defined total bit number is subdivided into one or more partial binary words, with the respective bit numbers of the partial binary words being variable. The individual partial binary words are allocated all binary bit sequences that can be formed with the total number bits of the respective partial binary words, the various bit sequences being coded at respectively different positions within a partial binary word In each partial binary word exactly one binary bit sequence is transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver.

A sensor system for recording the ambient conditions of an optical sensor having a transmitter unit and a receiver unit linked by an optical gap. An electronic sensor unit is provided that predetermines a basic setting of the optical sensor independent of the ambient conditions. The electronic sensor unit contains a signal processing section with comparators for comparing a reception signal of the optical sensor with threshold values corresponding to certain ambient conditions. The electronic sensor unit recognizes and evaluates changes in the ambient conditions as a function of the comparing, and restores the basic setting of the optical sensor such that the sensor system dependably reacts to subsequent changes in the ambient conditions.

A receiver amplifier for amplifying a photoelectric current produced by a light-sensitive semiconductor component. A remote-control lock system has a transmitter that can be set to emit any one of a succession of differently coded signals, a receiver that can be set to respond to any one of the succession of signals, and a lock operable by the receiver when it receives the signal it is set to. Thus each actuation of the transmitter change the code that will open the lock.
