A method is useable for operating a sensor assembly for determining relative humidity in radiosondes. The sensor assembly includes a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and a heating element. It is determined whether humidity is at or above a predetermined humidity limit selected as the limiting humidity with respect to saturation over ice. The humidity sensor is heated, at least temporarily, wherein in a temperature range below 0&#xb0; C., the humidity sensor is at least temporarily heated by the heating element based on it having been determined that the humidity is at or above the predetermined humidity limit.

Method for operating a sensor assembly and sensor assembly suitable therefor

A device for creating a reference humidity that includes a saturation chamber and a condensate cooler in fluid communication with the saturation chamber and arranged downstream of the saturation chamber, wherein the condensate cooler is a fin-type condenser whose arrangement is such that substantially horizontal gas flow through the condensation cooler results. A measuring chamber connected with the condensate cooler, in which a desired reference humidity is definitely set by varying pressures and/or temperatures.

Device for creating a reference humidity

A method and a device for measuring humidity may be suitable for determining the relative humidity in the high-humidity range. The device includes a sensor device, as well as a circuit connected to the same. The sensor device includes a capacitive humidity-sensor element, a temperature-sensor element, and a heating element, the humidity-sensor element being heated in at least one part of the humidity-measuring range. The ambient temperature is further ascertained by the circuit, from the heating power required in the heating mode, as well as from the measured, local sensor device temperature, in order to further determine the relative humidity.

Method and device for measuring humidity

A device for measuring moisture is described. This device includes a sensor unit ( ) having a moisture-sensitive sensor element ( ) and a carrier element ( ), upon which the sensor unit is mounted. The carrier element ( ), as well as the sensor unit ( ) have electrical contact regions ( ). Carrier element ( ) has a recess ( ), above which the sensor unit ( ) is mounted. The moisture-sensitive sensor element ( ) is oriented in the direction of the recess ( ). The sensor-side contact regions are formed on the side of the sensor unit ( ) facing the carrier element ( ). In at least one partial region adjacent to the sensor unit ( ), the carrier element ( ) is provided with a coating ( ) which absorbs and/or releases as little moisture as possible.

System for measuring humidity

A device is provided for generating a defined relative humidity in a gas. This device includes a saturator chamber connected by at least one connecting line to a measuring chamber. The relative humidity in the measuring chamber can be adjusted by varying the pressures in the saturator chamber and in the measuring chamber. A valve unit is arranged in the connecting line. The valve unit and the portion of the connecting line located between the valve unit and the saturator chamber are in thermal contact with a heating device.
