A slide cradle is provided that includes a stationary well, a feed slide that is movable along the stationary wall, and a compactor wall this is disposed across from the stationary wall, rests upon a loading and compacting base, and is angularly adjustable about both ends, with this compactor wall being pivotably guided at one of the ends along a stationary side wall about a hinged support. The opposite, convexly curved free end of the compactor wall rests against a concavely curved side of the closure wall, with the convexly curved free end and the concavely curved side of the closure wall having the same center of curvature and being positively interconnected in such as way as to permit the convexly curved free end of the compactor wall to be guided along the concavely curved side of the closure wall.

In blade holding devices sleeves are arranged concentrically about the blade securing screws, in order to relieve the blade securing screws from lateral shearing force components and vertically acting stripping forces resulting, when the blade slide is moved upward, from the friction between the blade and the scrap metal in the feed channel. For the removal of the blade, lateral wearing plates in the feed channel have to be removed. In order to permit the removal of the blade from the holding device without dismantling the wearing plates of the feed channel and, at the same time, retaining the sleeves, a short sleeve is provided, that, in an operational position of said scrap cutter, ascertains form-locking between the blade and the blade slide or the blade support and rests against a long spacing sleeve that is concentrically arranged about a shaft of the blade securing screw and is held by the blade securing nut. The short sleeve is also concentrically arranged about the shaft of the blade securing screw. After removal of the blade securing screws, the short sleeve may be slid toward the backside of the blade, permitting the removal of the blade in a downward direction. A dismantling of the lateral wearing plates is unnecessary.

A rotor for a hammer mill. A plurality of support elements rest against one another in the axial direction and are staggered in a circumferential direction. Hammers are pivotably mounted on hammer shafts that are disposed in ends of the support elements. The hammers are disposed between two axially adjacent support element ends. Caps are provided on the support element ends, with both the caps that immediately follow one another in the circumferential direction, as well as the hammers that immediately follow one another in the circumferential direction, being staggered in the direction of the axis of rotation of the rotor. The caps form parallel, spaced-apart, stepped, helical coverings of the rotor periphery, and the thus-formed free spaces that are successively disposed in the circumferential direction between each two axially adjacent caps form stepped, helical hammer lanes.

Rotor for a hammer mill

An arrangement for securing a cap to the end of a supporting body of a hammer mill rotor. The forward end of the supporting body end is provided with a front projection that is an integral part of the supporting body end and extends parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor. The rearward end of the supporting body end is provided with a recessed portion for receiving a filler member that forms a rear projection. The front and rear walls of the cap are provided with respective flanges that are directed toward one another, extend parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor, and extend in a hook-like manner about the front and rear projections. The cap covers all sides of the supporting body end but leaves free spaces between a hammer shaft and the side walls of the cap. The side walls are provided at each end with an opening through one of which a filler member can be inserted into the recessed portion of the rearward end, whereby to secure the filler member in the recessed portion, and to thereby secure the cap to the supporting body end, a resilient element is introduced into the filler member and also extends into a recess provided in an inner surface of the rear wall of the cap.

The rotor of the crusher, via a lifting mechanism that acts upon a mounting bracket of the rotor mounting, can be removed from a split housing after an upper part of the housing has been raised about a horizontal pivot axis and has been secured in position relative to a lower part of the housing, whereby pivot arms are disposed on opposite faces of the housing and are connected to hydraulic cylinders, with free ends of the pivot arms being pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis, and with the pivot arms being successively connected with the upper housing part to raise the same, with the mounting bracket after the upper housing part is secured relative to the lower housing part in an open position and the pivot arms have again been lowered, and again with the upper part after the rotor is removed. The pivot arms are extended beyond the contour of the housing toward the feed mechanism and are respective side arms of a U-shaped frame. The free ends of the side arms are disposed remote from the feed mechanism and are pivotably mounted, about a horizontal axis that is substantially aligned with the pivot axis between the upper and lower parts of the housing, on supports that are disposed next to the opposite faces of the housing without touching the same, and that are securely connected to a base.

A cap to cover all sides of the end of a supporting body of a hammer mill rotor. The cap has two side walls, each end of which is provided with an approximately rectangular opening. In the direction of rotation of the rotor, the cap has a forward transverse wall and a rear transverse wall, each of which is provided with openings for a securing element or a plug. Each transverse wall also has a planar, inwardly directed surface, with these surfaces being directed approximately toward the center of the rotor and forming equal acute angles symmetrically relative to a plane that extends through the hammer shaft and an axis of rotation of the rotor. The inwardly directed surface of the forward transverse wall rests upon a forward end face of the supporting body. A filler member having a rectangular cross-sectional shape fills the gap between the rear inwardly directed surface and a planar rear abutment surface of the supporting body. The filler member has a surface that extends at the equal acute angle, and upon which the rear inwardly directed surface rests. The filler member establishes a positive connection between the cap and the supporting body.
