The innovative concept described herein relates to a magnetic angle sensor system having a rotatable shaft, a permanent magnet coupled to the rotatable shaft, and a magnetic field sensor arranged opposite the permanent magnet, wherein the magnetic field sensor is configured to detect a magnetic field prevailing in its detection region. The magnetic angle sensor system comprises means for reducing and/or compensating for an inhomogeneous stray field component of a per se homogeneous external magnetic stray field.

A sensor device is provided with a magnetic field sensitive element being positioned in a magnetic field of a magnet. The magnetic field sensitive element is configured to sense an orientation angle of the magnetic field in the range between 0&#xb0; and 360&#xb0; and generate a sensing signal. The electronic circuitry is configured to receive and process the sensing signal from the magnetic field sensitive element to generate an angle signal indicating the orientation angle of the magnetic field and an angular speed of the shaft.

An alignment device may obtain a set of analog-to-digital converter (ADC) signals provided by an angle sensor operating in a homogeneous test mode. The set of ADC signals may be associated with a rotation of a target magnet relative to the angle sensor. The alignment device may identify a maximum ADC signal value based on the set of ADC signals. The alignment device may selectively position, by the alignment device, at least one of the angle sensor or the target magnet based on the maximum ADC signal value.

The present disclosure relates to a design for operating an angle sensor. A first sensor signal is output from a first sensor element on the basis of a magnetic field, which is dependent on an angle of rotation of a measurement object, at the location of the first sensor element. A second sensor signal is output from a second sensor element on the basis of the magnetic field that is dependent on the angle of rotation of the measurement object at the location of the second sensor element. During a calibration mode of the angle sensor, in which a rotation of the measurement object is performed, a first offset value of the first sensor signal, a second offset value of the second sensor signal and an amplitude correction value are determined on the basis of signal amplitudes of the first and second sensor signals. The first and second offset values ascertained during the calibration mode and the amplitude correction value are stored for use in an operating mode of the angle sensor.

A system includes a magnetic field sensor arrangement and a controller. The magnetic field sensor arrangement includes a first sensor chip having an integrated circuit differential magnetic field sensor circuit configured to generate a first output signal comprising first signal pulses, a second sensor chip having an integrated second differential magnetic field sensor circuit configured to generate a second output signal comprising second signal pulses, and at least one output signal terminal configured to output the first and the second output signals. The controller receives the first and the second signal pulses from the at least one output signal terminal, evaluates the first and the second signal pulses, and detects an error of an operation of the magnetic field sensor arrangement in response to the first and the second signal pulses not satisfying an expected output pattern of the first and the second signal pulses.

A magnetic sensor is configured to measure a magnetic field whose magnitude oscillates between a first extrema and a second extrema. The magnetic sensor includes a plurality of magnetic field sensor elements, each configured to generate a sensor signal in response to the magnetic field impinging thereon. The plurality of sensor elements are grouped into a first group from which a first measurement signal is derived and a second group from which a second measurement signal is derived, and the first measurement signal and the second measurement signal having a phase difference based on different phases. The magnetic sensor further includes a sensor circuit configured to receive the first measurement signal and the second measurement signal, and apply a signal conversion algorithm thereto to generate a converted measurement signal having an increased frequency with respect to the first measurement signal and the second measurement signal.

A bias magnetic field sensor is disclosed. In an embodiment, a bias magnetic field sensor includes a magnetic field sensor package having a magnetic body attached to only a single side of the sensor package, wherein the magnetic body is configured to provide a magnetic field, and wherein the sensor package is configured to measure a modulation of the magnetic field by a generator object.
