A steering device, in particular an electric power-steering device for a motor vehicle, comprising an axially parallel drive which has a steering gearbox housing, a steering axle, a steering element, and at least one axle steering mechanism connected to the steering element, having a motor unit disposed on the steering gearbox housing, having a servo gearbox disposed in a gearbox cover and having a control unit for the motor unit, which is disposed in a control device housing. The control device housing of the control unit is disposed on one axially parallel side of the servo gearbox, and a motor housing of the motor unit is disposed on the other axially parallel side of the servo gearbox.

Steering device, particularly electric servo steering device for a motor vehicle

A steering system for a vehicle includes a shaft that is rotatably mounted on a frame in a bearing, the shaft being functionally linked with a steered wheel for adjusting the steering angle thereof, and a structure for axially positioning the shaft in the frame. In order to allow for the shaft of the steering system to be free of backlash in an inexpensive and simple manner, the structure for axially positioning the shaft is configured as a pressure pad which is axially supported on the frame and on the bearing sitting on the shaft without play and which retains the bearing on the frame.

A steer-by-wire steering system has a steering wheel actuator and a braking device that acts on the steering column. The braking device is activated when the vehicle steering wheel is to be blocked or at least sharply braked, such as when the steering stop is reached or a wheel goes over the edge of a curb. The braking device functions like a switchable freewheel.

Coupling for a steer-by-wire steering system

A steering system, e.g., a hydraulic rack and pinion steering system for motor vehicles, includes a steering handle for prescribing a steering intention, a pressure medium source and a control valve device for controlling a flow of pressure medium to and from a servomotor in order to deflect vehicle wheels. The control valve device has a closed center, and a pressure medium accumulator is provided for producing and/or assisting a flow of pressure medium to and from the servomotor.
