The invention relates to a process () for producing liquefied natural gas using a feedstock mixture that contains at least methane, one or more components boiling at a temperature lower than methane and one or more hydrocarbons boiling at a temperature higher than methane, wherein the hydrocarbon(s) boiling at a temperature higher than methane comprise one or more hydrocarbons freezing at a higher temperature, with a freezing point higher than &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. According to the invention the feedstock mixture is fed into a pressure swing adsorption process (), in which a first fraction containing methane and a second fraction containing methane are formed, the first fraction containing methane contains, in addition to the methane, at least the predominant portion of the components of the feedstock mixture that boil more readily than methane and is low in or free from the hydrocarbons boiling less readily than methane, and the second fraction containing methane contains, in addition to the methane, at least the predominant portion of the hydrocarbons from the feedstock that boil less readily than methane and is low in or free from the components that boil more readily than methane, and the first fraction containing methane, or a portion thereof, is supplied for liquefaction (). The invention also relates to a corresponding plant.

Process and plant for producing liquefied natural gas

A process () is proposed for the production of one or more olefins, in which a reaction feed containing oxygen and one or more paraffins is formed and in which a part of the oxygen in the reaction feed is reacted with a part of the one or more paraffins to form the one or more olefins by an oxidative process, to obtain a process gas, the process gas containing at least the unreacted part of the one or more paraffins and oxygen, the one or more olefins, one or more acetylenes, carbon dioxide and water. The process comprises subjecting the process gas or a gas mixture formed using at least a part of the process gas partially or completely to a condensate separation (), a compression (), an at least partial removal () of the oxygen and acetylene(s) and to one or more stages of a carbon dioxide removal () in the order given herein, wherein the at least partial removal () of the oxygen and of the acetylene(s) is performed at the same time and by a catalytic conversion using a catalyst comprising copper oxide or ruthenium, and wherein the catalytic conversion is performed at least in part in the form of a hydrogenation. A corresponding plant is also the subject of the present invention.

Method and system for producing one or more olefins

The present invention concerns a method () for the production of a propylene product () in which a component mixture () containing propane, propylene and hydrogen is provided using a propane dehydrogenation () to which a reaction feed () containing propane and hydrogen is subjected, the component mixture () or a part thereof being subjected as a first separation feed to a first membrane separation (), by means of which a first permeate () enriched in hydrogen with respect to the first separation feed and a first retentate () depleted in hydrogen with respect to the first separation feed and containing hydrogen, propane and propylene are formed, the first retentate () or part thereof being subjected to a second membrane separation () as a second separation feed, in which a second permeate () containing at least the predominant part of the hydrogen of the second separation feed and a second retentate containing at least the predominant part of the propane and the propylene of the second separation feed are formed, wherein the first membrane separation () is carried out using a sweep gas () containing propane and the first permeate () is obtained as a permeate () charged with propane of the sweep gas () and/or the second membrane separation () is carried out using the sweep gas () containing propane and the second permeate () is obtained as a permeate () charged with propane of the sweep gas (), and wherein the first permeate () charged with propane of the sweep gas () and/or the second permeate () charged with propane of the sweep gas or one or more parts thereof is used in the formation of the reaction feed (). A corresponding plant is also the subject of this invention.

Method and system for obtaining a propylene product

The present invention concerns a process () for the production of a butylene product () in which a component mixture () containing butane, butylene and hydrogen is provided using a butane dehydrogenation () to which a reaction feed () containing butane and hydrogen is subjected, the component mixture () or part thereof being subjected as a first separation feed to a first membrane separation (), by means of which a first permeate () enriched in hydrogen with respect to the first separation feed and a first retentate () depleted in hydrogen with respect to the first separation feed and containing hydrogen, butane and butylene are formed, the first retentate () or part thereof being subjected to a second membrane separation () as a second separation feed, in which a second permeate () containing at least the predominant part of the hydrogen of the second separation feed and a second retentate containing at least the predominant part of the butane and the butylene of the second separation feed are formed, wherein the first membrane separation () is carried out using a sweep gas () containing butane and the first permeate () is obtained as permeate () charged with butane of the sweep gas () and/or the second membrane separation () is carried out using the sweep gas () containing butane and the second permeate () is obtained as permeate () charged with butane of the sweep gas (), and wherein the first permeate () charged with butane of the sweep gas () and/or the second permeate () charged with butane of the sweep gas or one or more parts thereof is used in the formation of the reaction feed (). A corresponding plant is also the subject of this invention.

Method and system for obtaining a butylene product

The invention relates to a process () for deriving polymerizable aromatic compounds having nine carbon atoms (S) in which a component mixture (B) is formed at least partially by steam cracking, in which the component mixture (B) is subjected to a workup () comprising a gasoline removal () and thereafter is a compression () and a fractionation (), and wherein one or more pyrolysis gasoline fractions (H, L) is or are formed in the gasoline removal () and/or the compression (). The invention provides that a separation feed is formed which comprises predominantly exclusively pyrolysis gasoline from the or at least one of the pyrolysis gasoline fractions (H, L) and that the separation feed is subjected to a separation (), wherein in the separation () at least one fraction (P) enriched in aromatic compounds having nine carbon atoms compared to the separation feed is formed. A corresponding plant likewise forms part of the subject matter of the invention.

Method and system for obtaining polymerizable aromatic compounds

Proposed is a process for producing ethylene wherein using a dehydrogenation of ethane a process gas containing at least ethane, ethylene and compounds having a lower boiling point than ethane and ethylene is formed, wherein using at least a part of the process gas a separation input is formed and subjected to a low-temperature separation () in which the separation input is cooled and in which one or more condensates are separated from the separation input, wherein the condensate(s) are at least partly subjected to a low-temperature rectification to obtain a gaseous first fraction and a liquid second fraction, wherein the gaseous first fraction contains at least the ethane and the ethylene in a lower proportion than in the separation input and the compounds having a lower boiling point than ethane and ethylene in a higher proportion than in the separation input. It is provided that the first fraction is at least partly subjected to a pressure swing adsorption () by means of which a third fraction containing predominantly or exclusively ethylene and ethane and a fourth fraction containing predominantly or exclusively methane and carbon monoxide are formed. A corresponding plant () likewise forms part of the subject matter of the present invention.

The invention relates to a method () of obtaining one or more olefins, in which, using an oxidative coupling of methane (), a gas mixture comprising hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide and higher-boiling hydrocarbons than methane is formed and is subjected to a low-temperature separation (-), characterized in that the low-temperature separation (-) is conducted using a rectification column () having a first separation region (), a second separation region () arranged above the first separation region (), and a condenser-evaporator (), wherein the gas mixture is cooled, fed at least partly as first separation feed into the first separation region () and subjected to a first rectification in the first separation region () to form a first tops gas and a first bottoms liquid, wherein, using a first proportion of the first tops gas in the condenser-evaporator (), a condensate which is recycled to the first separation region and, using a second proportion of the tops gas, a second separation feed which is fed into the second separation region () are formed, and wherein the second separation feed is subjected to a second rectification in the second separation region to form a second tops gas and a second bottoms liquid.

Method and system for obtaining one or more olefins

A process for producing one or more olefins is proposed in which a reaction input containing one or more paraffins is formed and in which a portion of the paraffin(s) present in the reaction input is converted by oxidative dehydrogenation into the olefin(s) to obtain a process gas, wherein the process gas contains at least the olefin(s), the unconverted paraffin(s), oxygen and carbon monoxide and wherein at least a portion of the process gas is subjected to a low temperature separation in which at an operating pressure level one or more gas fractions enriched in oxygen and carbon monoxide compared to the process gas are formed. It is provided that in the low temperature separation in the formation and/or for the conduction of the or at least one of the gas fractions one or more containers and/or one or more conduits having a burst pressure of at least ten times the operating pressure level are used and that the container or at least one of the containers via the or at least one of the conduits is connected to one or more heat exchangers, wherein a total length of the or of the at least one conduit between the or the at least one container and the heat exchanger(s) is not more than fifty times the internal diameter of said conduit. A corresponding plant () likewise forms part of the subject matter of the invention.

Method and system for producing olefins

A process for producing an olefin having N carbon atoms is proposed in which using a dehydrogenation a process gas is formed which contains at least the olefin having N carbon atoms, a paraffin having N carbon atoms and a hydrocarbon having N&#x2212;1 carbon atoms and in which using at least a portion of the process gas a separation input is formed which is subjected to a low temperature separation in which the separation input is cooled stepwise over a plurality of temperature levels and condensates are separated from the separation input, wherein the condensates are at least partly subjected to a first low temperature rectification to obtain a first gas fraction and a first liquid fraction, wherein the first gas fraction contains at least the olefin having N carbon atoms in a lower proportion than in the condensates and the hydrocarbon having N&#x2212;1 in a higher proportion than in the condensates. It is provided that the first gas fraction is at least partly subjected to a second low temperature rectification using a liquid reflux containing predominantly or exclusively the hydrocarbon having N&#x2212;1 carbon atoms in which the first gas fraction undergoes depletion in the olefin having N carbon atoms. A corresponding plant () likewise forms part of the subject matter of the invention.

Process and plant for producing an olefin

A process for producing ethylene is proposed in which an ethane- and oxygen-containing reaction input is formed and a portion of the ethane and of the oxygen in the reaction input is converted into ethylene and into acetic acid by oxidative dehydrogenation to obtain a process gas, wherein the process gas contains the unconverted portion of the ethane and of the oxygen, the ethylene and the acetic acid and also water and wherein the process gas is subjected to a water quench. It is provided that the water quench comprises introducing the process gas into a scrubbing column () into which in at least two different column portions respective aqueous, liquid scrubbing medium streams are introduced and run in countercurrent to the process gas. A corresponding plant () likewise forms part of the subject matter of the invention.

Process and plant for producing olefins

A method for separating a hydrogen-containing hydrocarbon mixture (C2minus), which in addition to the hydrogen essentially contains hydrocarbons with two carbon atoms and methane, using a distillation column (). Fluid (a, c, e) of the hydrocarbon mixture (C2minus) is cooled stepwise at a first pressure level, during which time first condensates (b, d) are separated from the fluid (a, c, e). Fluid (e) from the hydrocarbon mixture (C2minus) which remains gaseous after this is fed at the first pressure level into a C2 absorber (), to which a liquid reflux (r) is added at the top, while a second condensate (f) is drawn off from the sump of the C2 absorber () and a gaseous top stream (g) containing predominantly methane and hydrogen is drawn off at the top of the C2 absorber (). Fluid of the above-mentioned gaseous top stream (g) from the top of the C2 absorber () is cooled to a third temperature level and transferred at the first pressure level into a hydrogen separator () in which a methane-rich third condensate (i) is separated from the fluid of the gaseous top stream (g), leaving behind a gaseous, hydrogen-rich stream (h). Fluid of the first condensates (b, d) and fluid of the second condensate (f) is depressurized from the first pressure level to a second pressure level below the first pressure level and fed into the distillation column () which is operated at the second pressure level. Fluid (e) of the third condensate (i) which is separated in the hydrogen separator () from the fluid of the gaseous top stream (g) from the top of the C2 absorber is used as the reflux (r) added at the top of the C2 absorber () and transferred from the hydrogen separator to the C2 absorber solely by gravity. The invention also relates to a corresponding separating unit and a corresponding olefin apparatus.

Method for separating a hydrocarbon mixture containing hydrogen, separating device, and olefin plant

A method () is proposed for processing a mixture of substances which contains predominantly or solely hydrocarbons having from M to N carbon atoms, which include sulfur-containing hydrocarbons, a first feed being formed using fluid of the mixture of substances and being subjected to a first separation in which a first fraction is formed which contains predominantly or solely hydrocarbons having from X to Y carbon atoms and at least a portion of the sulfur-containing hydrocarbons contained in the first feed, and a second feed being formed using fluid of the first fraction and being subjected to a desulfurisation, in which the sulfur-containing hydrocarbons contained in the second feed are converted predominantly or completely and hydrocarbons having more than Y carbon atoms are formed as secondary products, with the result that a product mixture of the desulfurisation contains predominantly or solely hydrocarbons having from X to Y carbon atoms and the secondary products, where M is five or six, X is five or six when M is five or is six when M is six, Y is an integer of six, seven or eight, and N is an integer greater than Y. It is provided that a third feed is formed using fluid of the product mixture and is subjected to a second separation in a two-part distillation column () which comprises two structurally separated column parts () and in which a second and a third fraction are formed, the second fraction containing at least the predominant portion of the secondary products contained in the third feed, and fluid of the third fraction being separated further in the two-part distillation column in a third separation. The present invention likewise relates to a corresponding system.

Method and system for processing a mixture of substances containing hydrocarbons and sulfur compounds by separation technology

A process is proposed for production of dimethyl ether (DME) from synthesis gas (SG), in which at least one feed stream formed from synthesis gas (SG) is subjected to at least one synthesis step, in which components present in the feed stream are at least in part converted to dimethyl ether (DME), wherein at least one crude product stream is obtained which contains at least dimethyl ether (DME) and the unreacted components of the feed stream. The feed stream contains at least hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, and has a stoichiometric number of 2.0 to 5.0. The feed stream further contains 4 to 20 mol percent carbon dioxide, and the ratio of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide in the feed stream is in a range from 0.5 to 4. The at least one synthesis step is carried out under isothermal conditions. A system for production of dimethyl ether (DME) from synthesis gas (SG) is likewise subject matter of the present invention.

Method and system for obtaining dimethyl ether from syngas

A method for separating a hydrocarbon mixture, which is obtained at least in part by steam cracking and which contains at least hydrocarbons having one, two and three carbon atoms, including ethane and ethylene, a first fraction initially being obtained from the hydrocarbon mixture by separating off other components at least in part, said fraction containing the predominant part of the hydrocarbons having two or more carbon atoms previously contained in the hydrocarbon mixture or the predominant part of the hydrocarbons having two or fewer carbon atoms previously contained in the hydrocarbon mixture, further fractions subsequently being obtained from the first fraction. A fraction containing ethane is separated off in an amount which reduces the ethane content in the first fraction to less than 25%, the fraction containing ethane being low in or free from other hydrocarbons having two carbon atoms.
