This invention relates to a device for determining the conversion power of conversion element, a method for performing these measurements and a method for producing pcLEDs with essentially the same color point applying said device and said method. The device comprises a light source (), a sample holder () and a detector element (), wherein the light source () illuminates the sample holder () with a primary light (), the sample holder () is at least locally transparent for a primary light (), suitable to mount the multitude of conversion elements () capable to partly convert the primary light () into a secondary light (), and comprises suitable prevention means () to prevent a light guiding of the secondary light () from one mounted conversion element () through the sample holder () to another mounted conversion element (), and the detector element () is suitable to measure the intensities of primary and secondary light () for each conversion element () separately.

A light emitting device includes a substrate layer and a light conversion layer located on said substrate layer. The light conversion layer is a polycrystalline ceramic layer, and is positioned on the substrate layer by sintering.

A light emitter is provided on the first surface and an array of particles is arranged on the second surface. Further, the filling height of the index matching layer is lower than the maximum height of the array of particles.

The invention relates to an electroluminescent device comprising a substrate (), a porous layer () that borders on the substrate (), a laminated body that borders on the porous layer () and that is composed of at least a first electrode (), an electroluminescent layer () and a second electrode (), a colored material, preferably an ink, being present at least partially in the pores of the porous layer (). The porous layer () may be segmented and include a plurality of different colored materials, so that a black matrix structure and/or a color filter structure is obtained. A plasma picture screen is disclosed. In one embodiment, an AC plasma picture screen with a coplanar arrangement which has an enhanced luminance is provided. A layer, which has a high reflection in the wavelength range of the plasma emission (145 to 200 nm) and a high transmission in the visible wavelength range, is provided on the front plate. The front plate includes a glass plate on which a dielectric layer, a protective layer, a reflective layer are provided. The reflective layer reflects UV light emitted in the direction of the front plate back towards phosphors. The optical properties of the UV light reflecting layer are realized with inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 200 nm and 500 nm and a layer thickness from 0.5 &mgr;m to 5 &mgr;m, or with agglomerates of inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 10 nm and 200 nm and a layer thickness of 0.2 &mgr;m to 10 &mgr;m.
