Thermal switch having a thermal bimetallic snap-over disc temperature sensor which interacts via a transmission component with a contact system which has at least one contact carrier carrying or forming a movable contact, the movable contact resting against at least one fixed contact in the quiescent state. In order to ensure that the switch remains in the non-quiescent open position after the thermal sensor has been tripped, provision is made that the movable contact is formed by a wire-type or strip-type contact part which can be plastically deformed by the transmission component actuated by the thermal bimetallic snap-over disc temperature sensor.

Thermal switch

An improved temperature fuse is provided for electrical equipment having a heat transmission plate for holding a solder pellet and a control rod supported on, and prestressed against, the solder pellet. The improvement includes a solder pellet having a metal coating disposed on the entire periphery thereof. The metal coating has a higher melting point than the solder.

Solder pellet

A device for temperature regulation has a contact housing which is provided ith a movable contact spring for breaking a circuit and on which a fastening flange is fastened. Furthermore, there is a tube of low thermal expansion, in which a bar with a high coefficient of thermal expansion is arranged so as to be longitudinally displaceable. That end of the tube located on the same side as the switch is supported in a concave receptacle arched in the direction of the contact housing.

Apparatus for regulation or limitation of temperature

For simplified and more rapid production of a switch component (1) with a bimetallic element (3) and a switch (6) which can be actuated by this via a transmission element (15), the carrier or feed parts (4) are connected to the contact parts (5) by welding. For this purpose, each carrier or feed part (4) has a vertical weld section (8) passed through the insulating body (2) and having a smaller cross sectional surface than the remaining portion of the carrier or feed part (4).

Process for connecting conductive parts of an electrical switch component

A transfer element (8) is provided in a thermal switch (1) with a housing (2), power supply lines (4) and contacts (5) and (7), with a contact spring (6) and a thermostatic bimetal plate (3). The transfer element is moved up by the snap action of the thermostatic bimetal plate and in so doing takes with it the contact spring (6), opening the contacts. In order to adapt this transfer element (8) in its length precisely to the desired nominal length, a heating into the deformation range of the material forming the transfer element (8) takes place, with a subsequent deformation of the upper edge region. This makes it possible in a simple way to produce the exact nominal length of the transfer element (8).

Process for the adjustment of a thermal switch

A thermal switch for breaking an electrical circuit to prevent overheating s described. The thermal switch includes a bimetallic thermocouple in the form of a snap disc and a leaf spring. The leaf spring supports an electrical contact. When the leaf spring is in its stressed position, the electrical contact keeps an electrical circuit closed. When the temperature rises too high, the snap disc snaps in a direction which causes the leaf spring to move into its unstressed position, thereby opening the circuit. When the temperature has decreased, the switch can be reset.

A temperature regulating device is provided for electrical cooking appliances wherein the heat is provided by heating bodies, or elements, for plural heating zones. The device has a heat resistant bar or rod of high thermal expansion. The rod is enclosed within a tubular jacket formed of two tubes set end-to-end along the rod. The rod is spring mounted for moving an electrical contact of a switch to open and close the switch. The tubes have different coefficients of thermal expansion, the coefficient of the tube nearest the switch being the same as that of the rod, for providing a uniform switching characteristic over a wide range of operation of the heating elements.

Temperature regulating device

A thermostat for a cooking utensil having a radiation heating body is constructed of an electrical switch actuated by a push rod. The rod extends away from the switch and expands in response to increasing temperature. The rod is held by spring loading within an outer tube of material, typically quartz or ceramic, of substantially lower coefficient of expansion than the rod. To permit adjustment of the thermostat during manufacture, a mating surface between a side wall of a housing of the switch and an end of the tube is constructed by forming an outward spherically shaped bulge in the side wall and an outward flaring of the end of the tube, thereby to permit relative motion between the housing and the tube without fracturing the end of the tube.

Thermostat for cooking utensil

A thermal switch having a temperature sensor formed of a thermal bimetallic nap disk, the temperature sensor cooperating via a transmission member with a contact system which has a contact carrier bearing at least one movable contact, the movable contact resting under spring force in its closed-circuit position of rest against at least one fixed contact. A locking member is provided which, upon a temperature-caused movement of the transmission member, is displaceable under spring force in the direction towards the transmission member at least approximately perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the transmission member and holds the contact carrier in its open-circuit position after temperature-caused movement of said support.

In a cooking and heating apparatus, a device for warning personnel of dangerously hot temperature is incorporated within the structure of a thermostat which has a switch for regulating the flow of electric current to a heating element of the apparatus. The thermostat includes a push rod mechanically coupled to a finger-like termination which extends through an aperture in an arm of the regulating switch to engage the arm of a further switch used in activating a warning indication. A collar on the termination engages the arm of the regulating switch subsequent to the activation of the further switch by the rod. The rod expands with increasing temperature and, thereby, initiates the warning at a lower temperature than the temperature of the power cut off by the regulating switch.
