An apparatus for the preparation of thermoplastic plastics material to be recycled has two treatment stages following one after the other. At least two receiving containers, which are capable of being evacuated and which are attached in parallel to a receiving container of the second stage, are present in the first stage. A device is present by which an alternating batch-wise charging of the receiving container of the second stage takes place from the receiving containers of the first stage. The said device controls discharge members of the receiving containers of the preceding stage, which leads into a channel. A shut-off member is provided for each receiving container of the preceding stage in the said channel. The alternating device controls the shut-off members. The method of preparing thermoplastic plastics material, to be recycled, utilizes an apparatus of this type.

Device and method for the preparation of recyclable thermoplastic plastic material

An apparatus for filling a screw () bearingly supported within a housing (), in particular of an extruder, for processing of pre-comminuted synthetic plastics material, in particular PET, has a filling opening () for the screw housing (). This filling opening () is in flow connection with the lower outflow opening () of an upright receptacle) for the material to be processed. Within the receptacle (), tools () circulate around a, preferably vertical, axis, which tool act onto the material positioned within the receptacle (). This material is introduced into the evacuable receptacle () through a sluice (). A quickly circulating tool () for creating a mixing cone () is disposed between an upper interior portion () and a lower interior portion () of the receptacle (). Within the lower interior portion () that constitutes a dwell space for the heated plastics material that has reached it for thermal homogenization thereof, also circulating tools () are disposed, which, however, are mere mixing tools without substantial introduction of power, so that within this dwell space an agglomeration of the plastics material is avoided.

Device for charging a screw lodged in a housing and method for operating a device of this type

A backwashable filtering device for thermoplastic plastics material is disclosed. The device can filter thermoplastic plastics material through one or more nests of screens in the filtering position, while submitting some nests of screens to the backwashing process that cleans them. The filtering position and the backwashing position are selectable by displacing one or more carrying bodies with respect to a housing and/or by displacing one or more control bodies with respect to the carrying bodies. The backwashing can be performed over an entire nest of screens or over a portion of a nest of screens. The nests of screens can be straight or curved.

Backwashable filtering device

An apparatus for filling a screw () bearingly supported within a housing (), in particular of an extruder, for processing of pre-comminuted synthetic plastics material, in particular PET, has a filling opening () for the screw housing (). This filling opening () is in flow connection with the lower outflow opening () of an upright receptacle) for the material to be processed. Within the receptacle (), tools () circulate around a preferably vertical axis, and they act on the material positioned within the receptacle (). This material is introduced into the evacuable receptacle () through a sluice (). A quickly circulating tool () for creating a mixing cone () is disposed between an upper interior portion () and a lower interior portion () of the receptacle (). Within the lower interior portion () that constitutes a dwell space for the heated plastics material that has reached it for thermal homogenization thereof, also circulating tools () are disposed, which, however, are mere mixing tools without substantial introduction of power, so that within this dwell space an agglomeration of the plastics material is avoided.

A device for the preparation of plastics material for recycling purposes has a container () with an upper inlet opening () for the material. In the container (), at least one tool () rotates about the vertical container axis. This tool feeds the treated material through an outlet opening () which is arranged at the bottom of the container () and to which the housing () of at least one screw () is connected. That side wall () of the feed opening () at which the tool () discharges defines a widening () extending continuously towards the screw axis. This widening () extends over part of the circumference of the screw turns () so that the screw-side edge of this widening () forms an uninterrupted shearing edge () co-operating with the screw turns ().

Device for preparation of plastic materials for recycling purposes

A device for the preparation of plastics material, in particular thermoplastic plastics material, has a receiving container () for the material, the interior of the receiving container () having tools () provided therein which are arranged on a carrier disc (). The tools are driven by a shaft () for rotation about the, in particular vertical, axis () of the shaft (). At least one screw () is provided for the removal of the material out of the receiving container (). The screw housing () has a feed opening () which is connected with respect to flow to a discharge opening () in the container (), which discharge opening () is situated at a lower level than the carrier disc () and the tools () carried by it. Further moved tools (), which convey the material into the discharge opening (), are provided in the receiving container () below the carrier disc (). The carrier disc () comprises at least one aperture () which connects the space () above the carrier disc to the space () below it, in order to divert water vapor and/or gaseous substances out of the space (). The apertures () are situated close to the axis () and close to the trailing edges () of the tools () during the rotation of the carrier disc ().

Device for preparing plastics material

A device for treating plastics material, in particular thermoplastic plastics material, has a receiving container () which has a base () and lateral walls (). In the receiving container at least [one] disc () is arranged close to the base (), and is driven by a vertical shaft () so as to rotate about its axis and carries tools (), as a result of which a circulating movement about the axis of the shaft () is imparted to the material present in the receiving container (). At least one blade () which projects beyond the edge of the disc () in the direction towards the lateral wall () is fastened to the said edge of the disc () adjacent to the lateral wall (). The blade is inclined with respect to the horizontal plane in such a way that the plastics material moved by the tool () or the tool carrier () during its circulation is given an upwardly directed movement component.

Apparatus for treating plastics material

A device for the preparation of, preferably thermoplastic, plastics material for recycling purposes has a container () in which at least one rotating mixing and/or comminuting tool () is arranged. The material thus treated is fed through an outlet opening () which is arranged at the bottom of the container () and to which the feed opening () of a housing () is fluidly connected. In this housing are arranged at least two screws () which are jointly charged with material. Method for processing synthetic materials for the purpose of recycling

A backflushable filtering apparatus for a molten material, particularly for a plastic melt, comprises a housing () in which a sieving arrangement () is provided which includes at least two sieving sections () separated from one another. The melt to be filtered is supplied to the sieving sections () through at least one distributor (). The distributor () includes at least one control body () for backflushing which is moveable within a housing () that is provided with an inlet opening () for the material to be filtered. The control body (), in a filtering position, unblocks the influx of material to be filtered to all sieving sections () through connection channels (). However, in a backflushing position, the control body () interrupts the influx of material to the filtering section () to be backflushed and interconnects the connection channel () of the sieving section () flushed back with a discharge channel () located in the control body (). At least the majority of the circumference of the control body () is surrounded by a distribution space () for the material to be filtered which is situated within its housing (). The distribution space () is connectable through the connection channels () to all sieving sections () in communication with the distributor (). Guiding channels () lead from the inlet opening () to the regions of the two front ends () of the distribution space (). These front ends () are situated in the region of the outermost connection channels () or outside the region of all connection channels (). The discharge channel (), which leads away from the control body (), may be caused to communicate with the connection channel () of the respective sieving section () to be flushed back through a flush back channel () of at least one cross-piece () of the control body () which overbridges the distribution space ().

Backflushable filter device for molten material and distribution unit for a filter device of this type

An apparatus for processing thermoplastic synthetic plastic material to be recycled comprises a first receptacle () and a second receptacle () for the material to be processed. Within both receptacles () tools () for mixing and heating the material circulate around a vertical axis each. The material reaches the second receptacle () which is connected to an evacuating means (), from the first receptacle () through a connecting conduit (). The first receptacle () has above it an intake opening () for the material to be processed, and the mouth of the connecting conduit () in the second receptacle () is disposed at a higher level than the tools () circulating in this receptacle (). The material processed is carried off the second receptacle () through a discharge opening () by means of at least one screw (), whereby this receptacle is vacuum-tightly closed. A sluice () is connected to the intake opening () of the first receptacle () that also is connected to an evacuating means (). In both receptacles () at least two tools () each circulate in different levels, disposed one upon the other, wherein the intake opening () in the first receptacle () is disposed higher than the uppermost tools () circulating in this receptacle (). The discharge opening () of the second receptacle () is disposed at least substantially at the level of the lowermost tools () circulating in this receptacle (). In each one of the two receptacles () at least one temperature sensor () is provided for each plane of the circulating tools (), which sensor is disposed higher than its associated plane.

Apparatus for processing thermoplastic synthetic plastic material

Within a process for recycling of PET-material and/or objects of PET, the PET-material to be processed is heated and dried in the course of a pre-treatment step and simultaneously is crystallized at elevated temperature. This pre-treatment step is followed by a main-treatment step under vacuum. In this main-treatment step, the processed material is again dried and crystallized at a temperature that is higher than the temperature of the pre-treatment step. Preferably, also in the main-treatment step no plasticizing of the material takes place; the plasticizing or, respectively, melting of the material takes place only after the main-processing step. An apparatus for performing this process comprises a pre-processing device () in which the processed material is dried and simultaneously crystallized at elevated temperature, and, if desired, is also comminuted. A main-processing device () is connected to this pre-processing device (), in which main-processing device the supplied PET-material is dried, crystallized and heated to a temperature that is higher than the temperature within the pre-treatment device.

Process and apparatus for recycling of PET-material

An apparatus for filtering viscous material, in particular thermoplastic synthetic plastic material, comprises a screw (), which presses the material to be cleaned from an upstream conduit () of a supply housing () towards a band-shaped screen (). The screen () is abutted on its downstream side by a perforated plate () against the pressure of the supplied material. The band-shaped screen () can be displaced for replacement of a soiled band section by a fresh band section. For facilitating this displacement a device is provided, which comprises a closure means () that is disposed on the upstream side of the screen (), by which closure means the upstream conduit () for the material to be filtered can be closed at least substantially. On the upstream side of this closure means () a storage space () for material to be cleaned is connected to the upstream conduit (). Within this storage space () a piston () is sealingly guided, which is reciprocable by a drive means and closes in its projected position the storage space () against the upstream conduit ().

Device and method for the filtration of viscous material

An apparatus for pre-processing and subsequent plastification or agglomeration of synthetic plastic materials, in particular thermoplastic waste plastics for recycling purposes, has a receptacle () in which at least one comminuting tool () circulates. The housing () of a screw () is connected to the receptacle (). The diameter (D) of the receptacle () has the following relationship to the screw diameter (d):=10.{square root over ()}, wherein Thereby the dwell times of the synthetic plastic material within the receptacle () are kept at optimal values.

Apparatus for pre-treatment and subsequent plastification or agglomeration of synthetic plastic materials

An apparatus for comminuting waste of synthetic plastic material has a housing () in which at least one rotor () is bearingly supported for rotation around a preferably horizontal axis by a motor. The rotor () is provided on its periphery with comminuting tools acting onto the supplied material, in particular knives, counter tools, in particular counter knives (), assigned to the knives, being stationarily disposed within the housing () forming a supply well () of great volume. The material disposed within the supply well () is pressed against the rotor () by a supply arrangement which has at least two slides () superimposed above each other and supplying the material to the rotor (). The slides are independently from each other moveable against the rotor () or away from it. The front surface of the lowermost slide () facing the rotor () defines with the tangent () to the enveloping circle () of the comminuting tools () carried by the rotor () a substantially wedge-shaped intake gap () for the material to be comminuted. This intake gap () narrows in the downward direction.
