A visualization system includes an observation apparatus having a first image recording device to observe an operation region with a first observation plane, and an endoscope having a probe and a second image recording device to observe the operation region with a second observation plane. A display device represents a first image recorded by the first image recording device in a first orientation and a second image recorded by the second image recording device in a second orientation. The visualization system further includes a tracking system to determine an orientation of the endoscope relative to the observation apparatus and a controller configured to transform the second image based on the orientation of the endoscope relative to the observation apparatus.

Visualization system comprising an observation apparatus and an endoscope

An endoscopic probe includes a handle with a front end, a rear end with a rear end axis and, extending between the front end and the rear end, a straight grip portion with a grip portion axis. The probe further includes a shaft extending from the front end of the handle and having a shaft axis, and a cable issuing from the rear end. The shaft axis, the rear end axis and the grip portion axis lie within a common plane. The shaft axis encloses an angle in the range of 100 to 140 degrees with the grip portion axis, the grip portion axis encloses an angle in the range of 110 to 130 degrees with the rear end axis, and the shaft axis encloses an angle in the range of 30 to 90 degrees with the rear end axis.

Endoscopic probe with reduced obstruction

A system combines an operating microscope and an endoscope. The operating microscope includes a light source with a first color temperature that illuminates a first portion of an operating field. The endoscope includes an LED light source with a second color temperature that illuminates a second portion of the operating field, wherein the two color temperatures are matched to one another in such a way that, in optical and/or digital imaging of the operating microscope and/or in optical and/or digital imaging of the endoscope, there are no perceivable color differences in portions of the operating field that are illuminated and observed jointly by the operating microscope and the endoscope.

Optical filter system and fluorescence detection system

An optical filter system for florescence observation comprises an illumination light filter (I) and an observation light filter (O). The observation light filter has plural transmitting regions (D,D) allowing fluorescent light to traverse the observation light filter. Blocking regions (S,S) separate the transmitting regions. The illumination light filter has transmitting regions (D,D) where the observation light filter has a corresponding blocking region. The illumination light filter has blocking regions (S,S) where the observation light filter has a corresponding transmitting region. The plural transmitting regions of the illumination light filter hallow for an improved color impression in the normal light observation.

A module for a visualization apparatus includes an imaging optic accommodated in a base body for generating a viewing image of an object region with an optical viewing beam path. The module includes a display unit for visualizing an image superimposed on the viewed image of the object region with orientation information. The module has an image acquisition unit having an image sensor for acquiring an image of the object region. The module contains a switching unit for selectively providing and blocking an optical beam path from the display to the image sensor. The invention relates to a system for visualizing characteristic tissue with a colorant in a surgical region. The system contains a detection unit which detects light from at least one object point in the surgical region. The system has a computer unit which is connected to the detection unit and drives a visualization unit which displays an image of an area in the surgical region. The computer unit determines the color coordinate in a color space with respect to the light from a point from the object point in the surgical region. Depending on the position of the color coordinate determined with respect to the object point, the computer unit calculates a color coordinate information ('0', '1') for controlling the visualization unit by comparing information concerning the determined color coordinate of the object point with information concerning a characteristic reference color coordinate.

A microscope system is for sequential observation of different fluorescent dyes that are accumulated in a tissue in an object plane. An illumination system and an observation system have at least two operating states. In one operating state, illumination radiation has a spectrum that includes an excitation band of a first fluorescent dye and is partly free from an excitation band of another fluorescent dye. In one operating state of the observation system, observation radiation guided in the first observation optical path has a spectrum in sections of the first observation optical path, which includes a first fluorescence band of the first fluorescent dye, while in another operating state observation radiation has a spectrum in at least some sections which is partly free from the first fluorescence band. A controller is configured to selectively switch the illumination system and the observation system into the first and second operating states.

Microscope system

An optical viewing system () for viewing an object region has a display unit () which has a plurality of controllable display segments which make available color pulse sequences in order to generate a display image which is built up of a plurality of image points. The optical viewing system () includes a superposition unit () which superposes an image, which is made available by the display unit (), onto the image of an object region (). The optical viewing system has a camera unit () to which the superposed image of display unit () and object region () is supplied. The camera unit () has image sensors () whose light sensitivity is adjustable as a function of time. The light sensitivity of the image sensors () is matched to the color pulse sequence in such a manner that the image sensor () can detect at least two light pulses of different color from the color pulse sequence from a display segment.

Optical viewing system and method for operating the same

An image sensor and a circuitry associated with the image sensor is used for recording a series of fluorescence images. The image sensor comprises a plurality of pixels for accumulating charges generated by incident radiation, and the circuitry converts the charges accumulated in the pixels into binary numbers. A gain of the circuitry is adjustable. The gain is set to a suitable maximum value at the beginning of a recording procedure. The gain is reduced if it is determined during the recording procedure that one or more brightness values of the recorded image exceed a suitably chosen maximum brightness value.
