A method of ordering an ophthalmic lens comprises the following steps: &#x2014;obtaining data representative of a desired correction for a wearer's eye; &#x2014;determining (S, S), using an electronic device, a lens power to be measured on a lensmeter based on the obtained data and on at least one parameter defining an expected position of the lens with respect to the wearer's eye, wherein the lens power corresponds to the power measured on the lensmeter for a lens adapted to provide the desired correction to the wearer's eye when placed at the expected position with respect to the wearer's eye; &#x2014;ordering (S) the ophthalmic lens specifying the determined power. A corresponding system is also provided.

A method of determining a refractive power value characterising an ophthalmic lens for correction of an individual's eye ametropia includes: obtaining first data representative of a refraction value and second data representative of a position of the individual's head with respect to a refraction apparatus when the refraction value was determined; determining the refractive power value as a function of the first data and of a relative position, derived the second data, of the refraction apparatus with respect to a centre of rotation of the eye when the refraction value was determined. A corresponding electronic device is also proposed.

A pair of progressive ophthalmic lenses () meets special conditions for improving binocular vision of a wearer, while avoiding discomfort for peripheral vision. A first one of the conditions relates to width values of far vision fields and/or proximate vision fields, for indicating that the fields are different enough in width between both lenses. A second one of the conditions sets a maximum value for the relative difference in mean refractive power gradient between both lenses.

Method for determining a progressive ophthalmic lens

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for determining an ophthalmic lens. In one implementation, three-dimensional coordinates of a center of rotation of the wearer's eye measured on the wearer in binocular vision are received. At least one direction of gaze measured in a natural posture and a determined position of the ophthalmic lens are received. Characteristics of the ophthalmic lens are calculated by using the coordinates measured for the center of rotation of the eye, the determined position of the lens, and the at least one direction of gaze measured in a natural posture. The characteristics of the ophthalmic lens are calculated by positioning a starting ophthalmic lens in the determined position and modifying the starting ophthalmic lens by wavefront analysis and/or optimizing using ray tracing dependent on the coordinates measured for the center of rotation of the eye and the determined position of the lens.

Disclosed is a progressive ophthalmic lens including a front surface and a rear surface, each surface having in each point an altitude, a mean sphere value and a cylinder value, the front surface of the lens including: &#x2014;a far vision zone having a far vision reference point; &#x2014;a near vision zone having a near vision reference point; &#x2014;a main meridian, wherein the front surface is regressive and has: &#x2014;a sphere gradient normalized value of less than 7.50&#xb7;10mmat any point in a central portion of the lens including a portion of the main meridian (), the far vision reference point (FV) and the near vision reference point (NV); &#x2014;a cylinder gradient normalized value of less than 1.45 mmat any point in the central portion of the lens.

Progressive ophthalmic lens

A spectacle eyeglass of progressive addition type has been designed for myopic children. To this purpose, an ergorama has been constructed, taking into account vision conditions encountered by the children in their everyday life. In particular, the eyeglass has a limited optical power increase between two reference eye directions (D, D), a start (D) of the optical power increase which is located quite low in the eyeglass, and an offset value (OS) for a meridian line (ML) which is higher than that of eyeglasses designed for adults.

The invention provides a progressive ophthalmic lens suitable to be worn by a person engaged in a sporting activity. For this purpose the lens has a far vision region which is enlarged, and a peripheral field of vision which is separated and whose mean sphere gradients are gentle. When a progressive lens of this kind is allocated to a wearer, the lens can have an addition value that is approximately equal to a prescribed value, or an addition value that is less than the prescribed value.
