An extracorporeal therapy system includes: (i) a dialysis fluid circuit including dialysis fluid preparation structure to prepare a dialysis fluid for treatment, the dialysis fluid circuit including a fresh dialysis fluid pump, a used dialysis fluid pump, and at least one filter for purifying the dialysis fluid; (ii) a blood circuit including a blood filter for use during the treatment; (iii) a blood pump operable to pump blood through the blood circuit and blood filter; (iv) a source of disinfecting fluid; and (v) a control unit operable with the dialysis fluid preparation structure and the blood pump, the control unit programmed to cause the disinfecting fluid to be delivered to and located for a duration at an area of the dialysis fluid circuit having the at least one purifying filter, and wherein during the duration the disinfecting fluid is precluded from contacting at least the fresh dialysis fluid pump.

Dialysis system having localized disinfection

Dialysis machines comprising a feed arrangement to supply a dialysis fluid to a dialyzer during dialysis treatment and a return arrangement to remove the dialysis fluid from the dialyzer during dialysis treatment and forward it to an exit; a feed recirculation circuit to allow a fluid of the feed arrangement to be re-circulated in a fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the feed arrangement and the feed recirculation circuit and a return recirculation circuit to allow a fluid of the return arrangement to re-circulate in an auxiliary fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the return arrangement and the return recirculation circuit. A controller configured to perform disinfection by re-circulating a disinfectant and/or a heated fluid through said fluid loop path and/or through said auxiliary fluid loop path. The dialysis machine further comprises a feed forward arrangement connected to the fluid loop path and arranged to enable a fluid of the feed arrangement to be forwarded to the exit by-passing the auxiliary fluid loop path.

Dialysis machines and methods of disinfecting a dialysis machine

A method and a system comprising an integrated water purifying apparatus with a pre-filter circuit including a particle filter and an activated carbon filter arranged to produce pre-treated water; a fluid circuit arranged to receive pre-treated water from the pre-filter circuit, the fluid circuit including an RO-pump and a Reverse Osmosis (RO) device arranged to produce purified water; a heating device arranged to heat purified water from the RO device to a temperature above&#xb0;0 C.; the water purifying apparatus further arranged to heat disinfect the fluid circuit using the heated purified water. The system further comprises a line set connected to the purified water outlet connector at a water line connector of the line set, wherein the line set includes at least one sterile sterilizing grade filter arranged to further filter the purified water.

System and a method for producing microbiologically controlled fluid

Dialysis machines comprising a feed arrangement () to supply a dialysis fluid to a dialyzer () during dialysis treatment and a return arrangement () to remove the dialysis fluid from the dialyzer during dialysis treatment and forward it to an exit (); a feed recirculation circuit () to allow a fluid of the feed arrangement to be re-circulated in a fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the feed arrangement and the feed recirculation circuit and a return recirculation circuit () to allow a fluid of the return arrangement to re-circulate in an auxiliary fluid loop path comprising, at least a portion of, the return arrangement and the return recirculation circuit. A blood treatment apparatus adapted to preserve a blood treatment unit between blood treatment sessions. The blood treatment apparatus is configured to i) perform a blood treatment session and thereby use the blood treatment unit, ii) fill the blood treatment unit with a preservation fluid comprising at least one treatment fluid concentrate of a type that is used to prepare the treatment fluid, iii) maintain the preservation fluid in the blood treatment unit until a next blood treatment session is prepared, iv) dispatch the preservation fluid from the blood treatment unit in preparation of a next blood treatment session, and v) perform a next blood treatment session and thereby extend the use of the blood treatment unit. A related method is also described.
