Lubricating composition for industrial gear fluids

In accordance with the disclosure, one aspect of the present application is directed to a lubricant additive composition. The lubricant additive composition includes a component or mixture of components selected from (a) an aminoalkylphosphonic acid dialkyl ester; (b) a cyclized product of an aminoalkylphosphonic acid dialkyl ester; and a mixture of (a) and (b). A slideway lubricating oil composition, additive concentrate, method of lubricating sliding parts. The lubricating oil includes a base oil; a metal-free friction modifier; and a metal-free, sulfur-free, phosphorus containing anti-wear/extreme pressure agent. The lubricating oil provides a lower coefficient of friction for non-metal sliding surfaces than for metal sliding surfaces.

Friction modifiers for slideway applications

A lubricant composition that is particularly suited for use in steam and gas turbine oils and in circulating oils has a balance of excellent oxidative stability and reduced sludge formation and comprises a blended mixture of alkylated phenyl-&#x3b1;-naphthylamine and at least oil soluble triazole or triazole derivative in an oil of lubricating viscosity, such compositions being capable of a residual RPVOT of 25% after at least 500 hours test duration test duration 120&#xb0; C. in Dry TOST test or, alternatively 50% after 700 hours or 25% after 1000 hours.

Lubricating composition with good oxidative stability and reduced deposit formation

There is disclosed a lubricating composition comprising a friction modifier and a base oil comprising less than about 3% by weight of tetracycloparaffins. Methods of making and using the composition are also disclosed.

Lubricant compositions

Lubricant compositions having improved load carrying capacity comprising an extreme pressure compound comprising a sulfur-containing compound, a load carrying capacity enhancing combination comprising a hydrocarbylamine compound and an alkylphosphorothioate compound, a friction modifier compound, and a diluent or base oil as applicable. These lubricant compositions can be used as industrial oils well-suited for the demands of geared device applications, such as in wind turbine gear-boxes and automotive gears and axles.

Lubricant compositions having improved anticorrosion performance comprising an extreme pressure compound comprising a sulfur-containing compound, an antiwear compound comprising a phosphorous-containing compound, an alkylene amine friction modifying compound, a dispersant compound containing basic nitrogen, and a diluent or base oil as applicable, wherein any of compounds other than the diluent or base oil can be the same or different compounds. These lubricant compositions provide improved anticorrosion resistance and fatigue performance, which prolongs service lives of lubricated parts, especially those used in outdoor applications.

Hydraulic or industrial functional fluids which exhibit excellent demulse performance are prepared comprising at least one oil-soluble polyoxypropylene glycol monoalkyl ether.

Lubricant compositions exhibiting improved demulse performance

Use of at least one friction modifier to reduce micropitting of a metal surface, which comprises lubricating the metal surface with a lubricant composition comprising the at least one friction modifier, wherein the at least one friction modifier is selected such that micropitting is reduced when the metal surface is so lubricated.

Lubricating compositions

Hydraulic fluid compositions and additive concentrates are described that provide improved wet filtrability. The additive components comprise a mixture formed from at least (a) a zinc dihydrocarbyl dithiophosphate anti-wear agent, (b) a succinimide compound, and optionally (c) one or more alkali metal or alkaline earth metal-containing detergents.

Hydraulic fluids

Novel zinc additives are provided which function as antioxidants and extreme pressure agents for lubricants and possess high thermal stability. In addition, they exhibit good filterability performance and good corrosion resistance. The zinc-containing additives are formed by admixing (i) at least one zinc dialkyldithiophosphate wherein each alkyl group contains 6 to 12 carbon atoms and is branched on its beta-carbon atom, and (ii) at least one zinc alkanoate wherein each alkanoate group is branched on its beta-carbon atom, in a ratio of 6.0 to 8.0 equivalents of (i) per equivalent of (ii).

Zinc additives of enhanced performance capabilities

An oil soluble dispersant composition formed by reacting a basic nitrogen-containing ashless dispersant (i) with at least one dibasic acylating agent, (ii) with at least one phosphorus compound, and (iii) with at least one boron compound, said reactions (i), (ii) and (iii) being conducted concurrently or sequentially in any order such that the initial ashless dispersant is chemically modified via acylation in (i), by phosphorylation in (ii), and by boronation in (iii).
