In-mold labelled, blow-molded articles formed from high density polyethylene, the labels being formed from biaxially oriented polypropylene based films having a shrinkage of at least 4% in both the machine and transverse directions as measured by the OPMA shrink test in which the film is suspended in an oven at 130&#xb0; C. for a period of 10 minutes. The use of films with the specified shrinkage enables blistering and 'orange peel' effects to be avoided when the blow-molding is carried out.

Polymeric films

Polymeric films including a layer of propylene polymer resin having microvoids therein, the microvoids having been formed by stretching a web containing the beta-form of polypropylene, have shown low static cling when being unwound from rolls in labelling operations and also during destacking of pre-formed labels. The invention provides labels formed from such films.

Labels

Biaxially oriented polymeric films having a core layer of a voided propylene homopolymer with a density of not more than 0.70 g/cm , and at least one substantially non-voided layer on each surface of the core layer, the ratio of the combined thicknesses of the non-voided layers on the respective surfaces of the core layer being from 2:1 to 1:1. Films in accordance with the present invention have low curl, particularly after having been printed.
