An indexing device comprises a rotatably driven input shaft; a globoidal cam having, for the purpose of outputting intermittently the rotation of the input shaft, a taper rib defining a cam face which has a disk-shaped end face gradually yielding to a helical face about the input shaft; an output shaft to which the rotation of the input shaft is transmitted so that the output shaft may rotate intermittently; an indexing disk provided on the output shaft and having supports protruding radially outwardly at intervals along the circumference of the indexing disk, the ridge of the taper rib fitting between the adjoining supports; cam followers each disposed at the end of the support on the indexing disk and brought into engagement with the taper rib so as to be intermittently driven along the cam face; and gaps provided between the ridge of the taper rib and the supports opposite this, the gap being filled up by the elastic deformation of the cam follower so that the ridge of the taper rib may come into contact with the support. Thus, even though an excessive load is applied to the input shaft, etc., the generation of permanent deformation such as an imprint can be prevented, which will result in improvements in rigidity and durability of the indexing device, therefore improvement in reliability of the indexing device for a machine tool to which the indexing device of the present invention is applied.

Indexing device

A press apparatus having a crank shaft mounted in a crown and having at least one crank portion, and first, second and third roller followers which are fitted on the crank portion to be rotatable about the axis of the crank portion eccentric with the rotational axis of the crank shaft and which are disposed parallel with each other in the axial direction of the crank portion in positions corresponding to the left and right ends and an intermediate section of the crank portion. The apparatus also has a slide post which is disposed in the crown to be slidable in the vertical direction and which is connected at the lower end to a slide, and upper and lower roller pads disposed in the slide post and respectively having a pressure-contact surface which pressingly contacts the first and second roller followers and a pressure-contact surface which pressingly contacts the third roller follower. As the crank shaft rotates, the vertical movement of the slide post is generated by the eccentric rotary motion of the first, second and third roller followers. The radius of this rotary motion is defined by the distance between the rotational axis of the crank shaft and the axis of the crank portion. The apparatus contains a shut height adjustment mechanism which includes a rotatable eccentric flange which supports the crank shaft in the press, whereby rotational movement of the flange moves the crank shaft vertically, thus changing the shut height.

Press apparatus for small precision part

A roll feed apparatus in which a plate material is held in a pair of rolls and fed intermittently, in a predetermined length at a time, by the oscillated operation of the rolls, the distance between the rolls is adjusted by a material thickness adjusting mechanism, the power of the rolls for holding the material is adjusted by a holding power adjusting mechanism, and the length of each feed of the material is adjusted by a feed length adjusting mechanism. The material thickness adjusting mechanism, the holding power adjusting mechanism and the feed length adjusting mechanism are automatically numerically controlled by an electrical control system without direct manual operation.

Roll feed apparatus

A roll feed apparatus for intermittently and unidirectionally feeding a sheet material has a first roll fixedly carried by a first roll shaft on a first axis, and a second roll carried by a second roll shaft on a second axis. The rolls cooperate in clamping and feeding sheet material therebetween. A turning shaft, rotatable by an operation lever, includes a first shaft portion on a third axis and second shaft portions on a fourth axis on both axial ends of the first shaft portion, rotatably supported by a housing through self-centering bearings. A pivotable member rotatably supports portions of the first roll shaft on both sides of the first roll. The pivotable member pivotally supported by the first shaft portion of the turning shaft moves the first roll towards and away from the second roll. The third axis extends in parallel with the first axis and is laterally spaced from the first roll. The fourth axis crosses the third axis at a predetermined small angle. The crossing point of third and fourth axes is positioned on or in the vicinity of a straight line which passes an axial mid-portion of the first roll and extends perpendicular to the first axis.

A press apparatus having a crank shaft mounted in a crown and having at least one crank portion, and first, second and third roller followers which are fitted on the crank portion to be rotatable about the axis of the crank portion eccentric with the rotational axis of the crank shaft and which are disposed parallel with each other in the axial direction of the crank portion in positions corresponding to the left and right ends and an intermediate section of the crank portion. The apparatus also has a slide post which is disposed in the crown to be slidable in the vertical direction and which is connected at the lower end to a slide, and upper and lower roller pads disposed in the slide post and respectively having a pressure-contact surface which pressingly contacts the first and second roller followers and a pressure-contact surface which pressingly contacts the third roller follower. As the crank shaft rotates, the vertical movement of the slide post is generated by the eccentric rotary motion of the first, second and third roller followers. The radius of this rotary motion is defined by the distance between the rotational axis of the crank shaft and the axis of the crank portion.

An overload release clutch to be mounted between rotary drive and driven members includes a recess formed on one member and a hole formed on the other member at a position axially corresponding to the recess, the recess being arcuate in the circumferential direction and extending in the axial direction. A transmission roller having a crowned peripheral surface, extending in the axial direction and having a tapered surface at least one end, is fitted in the hole so as to be rotatable on its axis and movable along the radial direction. The roller is normally urged by pressure means radially inward and engages with the recess for transmitting the rotational movement of the drive member to the driven member. When an overload torque is applied, the pressure means permits the roller to move radially outward to disengage from the recess.

Overload release clutch

A cam mechanism includes a continuous rotary shaft connected to a drive source, a cam fixed on the rotary shaft to convert each continuous rotation motion of the rotary shaft to a compound horizontal and vertical motion, and an output member coupled with the cam. The cam comprises a single piece, disc-shaped compound cam having in its upper surface an endless groove formed of continuously-arranged arcuate and non-arcuate groove portions and an endless guide the depth of which from the upper surface of the compound cam varies continuously. The output member is supported displaceably in the horizontal and vertical directions relative to the compound cam and includes at least one roller engaged with the groove and the guide of the compound cam.

Cam mechanism

A planetary roller type power transmission device has a first rotary shaft and a second rotary shaft which are arranged coaxially, a sun roller connected to the first rotary shaft, a stationary outer ring disposed concentrically with the sun roller, and a plurality of planet rollers disposed in the annular space between the sun roller and the stationary outer ring, the planet rollers being carried by a carrier rotatable as a unit with the second rotary shaft. The power transmission device further has a pair of mutually opposing flange-like projections formed on the outer peripheral surface of the stationary outer ring so as to pass positions adjacent to respective axial ends of the area of contact between the planet rollers and the stationary outer ring, and a tightening means operable from the outside of the transmission device and adapted to urge the flange-like projections towards each other thereby causing elastic deformation of the stationary outer ring. The levels of contact pressure between the sun roller and the planet rollers and between the planet rollers and the stationary outer ring are controlled by adjustment of the amount of tightening by the tightening means.

Power transmitting device

A cam arrangement comprises a solid cam mounted on an input shaft for rotation and having a plurality of ribs formed on a circumferential surface thereof, the solid cam being formed to a non-circular configuration at an outer periphery of the ribs, the ribs including a linear portion and an inclined portion. A spider is mounted at an end of an output shaft which extends perpendicularly to the input shaft and is disposed for both rotation and reciprocation a plurality of cam followers are mounted on the spider and each is guided between adjacent pairs of the ribs. The spider is pressed resiliently against outer surfaces of the ribs.
