A part of a solid fuel is combusted in a fluidized bed combustor; a remainder of the fuel is combusted in a dust combustor. Waste gases from the fluidized bed are fed to the dust combustor. A heat exchanger in the fluidized bed heats compressed air in which fuel is combusted to drive a hot gas turbine.
