A measuring transformer for use with high-voltage switch-gear of a type which employs metal encapsulation. The transformer is retained between flanges at a joint of the metal encapsulation and includes a sealing and insulating spacing means. The latter forms a ring-shaped cavity with the flanges and seals such cavity from the interior of the metal encapsulation. In the ring-shaped cavity is disposed at least one iron core having a secondary winding placed thereon, the latter core together with the inner conductor of the high-voltage switch-gear forming a current transformer.

A voltage transformer for use with high voltages. The transformer includes an insulating body in which is disposed a high-potential winding and a bushing laterally joined to the insulating body. In accord with the invention, the transformer is further provided with control electrodes in the form of conducting cylinders which are disposed concentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the bushing, thereby affording control of the bushing at both its ends. Moreover, in further accord with the invention, the high-potential winding is arranged adjacent to one side of the bushing so that its width extends over the control length thereof, and is comprised of subwindings which are metallically connected to the respective conducting cylinders such that a uniform voltage distribution results during the occurrence of surge voltages.

A low-voltage capacitor is connected to the high-voltage capacitor so as to conjointly define therewith a capacitive voltage divider. A transformer core unit including an iron core and a transformer winding system mounted on the iron core is also provided. The transformer core unit is arranged on the outer surface of the tube member whereby the tube member carries the transformer core unit inside the metal outer tube of the high-voltage installation.

A voltage transformer for an insulated high-voltage switching apparatus of the type including a metallic outer tubular casing in which an electrical conductor is disposed, and a tubular sleeve disposed about the conductor within the casing. The sleeve forms both a surface type electrode and in conjunction with the electrical conductor of the apparatus, a high potential capacitor. The improvement of the invention comprises a coupling arrangement, fabricated of electrical insulation material, which is fastened at one end of the tubular sleeve and is coupled to the casing of the apparatus. A support arrangement, also fabricated of electrical insulation material, is fastened at the other end of the tubular sleeve and disposed in engagement with the inner surface of the apparatus casing. The coupling and support arrangements function in conjunction with each other to support the tubular sleeve in the apparatus casing about the electrical conductor.

A measuring transformer arrangement is provided for a fluid-insulated high-voltage installation with metal encapsulation carrying several conductors. The measuring transformer arrangement includes at least one conducting or semiconducting tube surrounding each conductor whereat at least one current transformer core with a system of secondary windings mounted on it is attached on the outside of the tube. An improved voltage transformer for use in a gas insulated or liquid insulated high voltage switching installation enclosed within a metal encapsulation and carrying several conductors, in which each conductor is surrounded by a tube which is conductive at least on its surface which faces the conductor with the tubes connected to each other through attachment means which attach them in an insulated manner to the metal encapsulation. The resulting arrangement causes each tube together with the conductor within it to form a high potential capacitor which can be coupled in series with a low potential capacitor to form a voltage divider with the voltage taken off the low potential capacitor and used to provide an indication of the voltage present on the conductor. Tubes which are plastic with conductive coatings and metal tubes are disclosed with the tubes fastened to at least one support disk of insulating material which is then attached to the metal encapsulation.
