The invention relates to a process for the production of solutions of substantially water-insoluble complex antimony compounds in polar organic solvents by esterifying an .alpha.-hydroxy polycarboxylic acid with a polyol, reacting an excess of the esterification product with an antimony oxide in a polar organic solvent and reacting the free carboxylic groups with a monoisocyanate.

The invention relates to a process for the production of allyl or methallyl phosphonic acid dialkyl esters by reacting allyl chloride or methallyl chloride with trialkyl phosphites at temperatures of from 80.degree. to 160.degree. C in the presence of a compound of avalent and/or monovalent nickel or in the presence of a compound of avalent, monovalent or divalent cobalt.

Process for the production of (meth)allyl phosphonic acid dialkyl esters

The invention relates to solutions of complex antimony compounds substantially insoluble in water which are produced by reacting antimony oxides with .alpha.-hydroxy carboxylic acids and further reaction with monoisocyanates as well as a process for the production of these solutions. The solutions according to the invention may be added to solutions of acrylonitrile polymers and copolymers and they improve the non-inflammability of shaped articles produced thereof.

The invention relates to a composition of matter which comprises A) from 95 to 99.9 % by weight of a copolymer of acrylonitrile, a vinyl and/or vinylidene halide and, optionally, at least one other copolymerisable compound; and B) from 0.1 to 5 % by weight of a substantially water-insoluble complex antimony compound containing amide groups, the complex antimony compound being obtainable by esterifying an .alpha.-hydroxy polycarboxylic acid with a polyol, reacting the esterification product with an antimony oxide in a polar organic solvent adding a monoisocyanate to the resulting solution in such a quantity that the free carboxyl groups are converted into the corresponding amide groups, and a process for the production of these compositions of matter.
