A device for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, or flow rate meters, having a measuring element accommodated in a measurement support; upstream of the measuring element, a grid with flow openings is provided. To attain a substantially rotational symmetrical velocity distribution even in the case of a severely impeded oncoming flow, the grid has flow openings, which at least regionally have a different flow cross section. The flow cross sections of the flow openings are adapted to the oncoming flow, in order to bring about a flow with substantially even velocity distribution downstream of the grid. The device is intended for measuring the mass of a flowing medium, in particular for measuring the mass of aspirated air in internal combustion engines.

A wiper for an electric rotary potentiometer, in particular for use as a rotary position transducer, having a contact spring for pickup on a resistor track, and a rotatable spring holder on which the contact spring is secured nonrotatably. To save time and expense in assembling the contact spring and the spring holder, at least one fastening tang with a detent head protrudes at approximately right angles from the spring holder, and the contact spring has circular-annular-segmental detent straps, disposed on a circle, which lock into place behind the detent head under spring tension.

A measuring element for a device for determining the mass of a flowing medium. The measuring element has a plurality of resistor tracks exposed to the flowing medium, and a substrate carrying the resistor tracks, on the surface of which substrate the resistor tracks are disposed, separated from one another. To prevent alteration of the characteristic curve of the measuring element as a consequence of the provision of temperature decoupling slits in the substrate, transversely to the flow direction, the resistor tracks are disposed in succession, as viewed in the flow direction, in stairstep fashion with steps that protrude past the respective preceding resistor track. The substrate is notched in accordance with the stairstep shape of the resistor tracks, in such a manner that one leading edge is formed along each step of the resistor tracks, so that the oncoming flow to the various resistor tracks is unaffected by the preceding step.

A rotary position transducer for generating electrical rotary angle signals as a function of the pivoted position of a rotary device, in particular a throttle valve in the fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine, has a first carrier with concentrically disposed electric contact tracks and a second carrier with fixedly disposed wipers, which rest with axial pressure on the contact tracks. One of the two carriers is rotatable relative to the other, and the rotatable carrier has a securing element for coupling of the rotary device in a manner fixed against relative rotation. To suppress a transmission of radial and axial play of the rotary device to the arrangement of wipers and contact tracks, the securing element is joined to the carrier via a spring coupling that is torsionally rigid in the rotational direction but highly elastic in the axial and radial direction.

Rotary position transducer

An electric potentiometer used for conversion of a rotating movement into an electrical value. The potentiometer has a wiper passing across a resistance path and, on the other end, the wiper is rotatingly coupled with a bearing shaft. The resistance path is disposed on a mounting plate next to which is disposed on the intake pipe wall an elongated plug, made of plastic by injection molding, in which are embedded contact prongs, which are connected on the other side in an electrically conducting manner with connecting contacts extending generally perpendicular to the contact prongs.
