In ignition elements where the energy required to ignite the charge is produced using a laser source, the laser light is injected by means of an optical fiber or a laser optics system enabling the laser light to be focused onto the charge at the required intensity for ignition. Transmission losses and injection losses occur while the laser light is transmitted by means of optical devices or optical fibers. Known ignition devices are also complicated in terms of construction. According to the invention, the laser light source is a laser diode ( ) and the explosive ( ) that is to be ignited is arranged directly on the part ( ) of the housing ( ) of the laser diode ( ) that allows the laser light ( ) to pass through it.

Ignition element with a laser light source

A pyrotechnic active element for separating media and/or fluids has a base element ( ) and an electrical ignition element ( ) which is arranged on or in the base element ( ). The pyrotechnic active element also includes a pyrotechincal charge ( ) which can be ignited by the ignition element ( ), in addition to a separating element ( ) which is fitted with a separating tool ( ) and a fixing member ( ) for the tool. The fixing element ( ) is hermetically sealed to the base element ( ). The connection is disrupted when the pyrotechnical charge ( ) is ignited.

Pyrotechnic active element

The invention relates to an inductive ignition system, in particular for infantry weapons, having a primary coil (,) which cooperates inductively with a secondary coil (,) in the ignition system of cartridge (,) and which transmits the firing energy that is required for the ignition. For the necessary firing energy to be produced and made available internally, that is with additional supply, the invention proposes fitting a weapon breechblock component (,), displaceable from a cocked position to a firing position, in the weapon housing (,) in which is located the primary coil (,), and that, for production of the ignition energy, an inductive power generator (,) is provided whose coil system (,) is fitted in the weapon breechblock component (,) and whose magnet system (,) is fitted in the weapon housing (,). On displacing the weapon breechblock component (,) from the cocked position to the firing position, the coil system slides pass the magnet system (,) and induces the necessary ignition energy in the coil system (,).

A pyrotechnic high-current fuse element in which a current conductor located in a circuit to be protected is interrupted or displaced by ignition of a pyrotechnic charge when the current strength in the circuit exceeds a threshold value includes a separate component that can be installed in the circuit to be protected, to which component the ends of a current conductor to be cut are connected.

Pyrotechnic high-current safety fuse element

A secondary coil is provided for use in inductive igniters for the igniting of propellant charge powder. In these igniters, two coil systems cooperate with each other in accordance with the transformer system, wherein the secondary coil is to be as small as possible and is to form a compact unit with the igniter. This is accomplished by arranging the windings of the secondary coil in the form of flat sandwich coils on a support material in an insulated fashion so that upon folding of the support material, the individual flat coils are placed in mutual opposition so that they form a cylinder coil. Furthermore, these flat coils are connected with each other by way of their outermost and innermost windings, the transition from the outermost windings being located at the crease and the innermost windings being joined together so that the flat coils are disposed almost in congruence on the front side as well as on the rear side, and the transition of the innermost coils being effected by a metallized path extending through the carrier material.

Inductive igniters with secondary coil
