Control means are provided for an apparatus for cross-winding packages of textile yarn or the like. The control means includes means operable during at least a portion of the rotation of the package at the selected rotational speed for increasing the relative frequency of traverse of the yarn guide means with respect to the selected rotational speed to a ratio less than the ratio of the rotational speed to the relative frequency of traverse prior to rotation at the selected rotational speed. The control means can gradually increase the relative frequency during operation at the selected rotational speed so that the ratio of the rotational speed to the relative frequency of traverse of the yarn guide means gradually decreases from the ratio of the rotational speed to the relative frequency of traverse at the beginning of rotation at the selected rotational speed.

Control means for apparatus for cross-winding packages

An apparatus for changing yarn carriers in a textile machine, particularly a ring spinning machine, funnel spinning machine or ring twisting machine, includes a revolver having an axis, a pair of spindles being disposed on the revolver symmetrically to the revolver axis and having axes, and the spindles of the pair being rotatable in mutual alternation between a spinning position and an unwinding or disposal position. According to one embodiment, the axes of the spindles of the pair are inclined relative to the revolver axis by an acute angle and diverge in a direction toward the free ends of the spindles. According to another embodiment, at least two pairs of spindles are disposed on the revolver for serving at least two adjacent spinning or twisting stations of the textile machine, and each two adjacent spindle axes are mutually parallel at a given spacing.

Apparatus for changing yarn carriers in a spinning or twisting machine

A ring spinning and spooling frame includes spooling stations. A plurality of spindles are disposed in pairs on bearing plates. At least two of the pairs of the spindles are associated with one of the spooling stations. The bearing plates are movable in position between a ring spinning position and an unreeling swiveled position of the spindles. An apparatus which carries the bearing plates pivots one of the bearing plates through 180.degree. out of the vicinity of adjacent bearing plates between the ring spinning position and the unreeling swiveled position of the spindles.

Ring spinning and spooling frame

Control means in an apparatus for cross-winding packages of textile yarn or the like is provided and includes means operable during at least a portion of the high speed or accelerating rotation for increasing the relative frequency of traverse of the traversing yarn guide means with respect to the rotational winding speed of the package from a frequency at which the ratio of the rotational winding speed to the relative frequency of traverse is greater than the ratio of the selected rotational winding speed and the related selected frequency of traverse. The control means can gradually increase the relative frequency during the high speed or accelerating rotation so that at least before the end of the high speed or accelerating rotation, the ratio of the rotational winding speed to the relative frequency of traverse of the yarn guide means is approximately the same as the ratio of the selected rotational winding speed and the related selected frequency.

A transport means for transporting packages at a winding machine to a plurality of stations for unwinding the packages is provided. The transport means includes a plurality of generally horizontally disposed, partially overlapping, package-supporting plates arranged in a sequential series and means for moving each plate about a generally vertical axis. The surface of each plate moves through an advancing path and transversely of the winding machine through an unwinding station. The packages are individually supported on the package supporting plates for circulation through the unwinding station.

Package transport apparatus for a textile machine

A yarn traverse winding apparatus for a textile machine producing cross-wound bobbins includes a yarn traversing zone having reversing points. A traction mechanism transmission has an endless traction mechanism being diverted outside the traversing zone by guide rollers between a first belt run movable in a given traversing direction and a second belt run movable parallel to the first belt run in an opposite traversing direction. The belt runs have inner surfaces facing toward each other and outer surfaces facing away from each other while in the traversing zone. Yarn are drivers mutually spaced apart along the traction mechanism and a yarn guide element transfers yarn at the reversing points from a yarn driver on one of the belt runs to a yarn driver on the other of the belt runs. The guide rollers include two first inner guide rollers each guiding and contacting the outer surface of a respective belt run and two mutually spaced apart second outer guide rollers each returning and contacting the inner surface of a respective belt run before the belt runs reach the first guide rollers. The traction mechanism is moveable between the second guide rollers in the vicinity of the first guide rollers.

Yarn traverse winding apparatus

An apparatus for transporting cops and cop tubes includes a plurality of circular-disk-type carriers having two opposite sides. Spindle bearings each have a bearing portion penetrating and protruding beyond a respective one of the carriers toward one of the opposite sides of a respective one of the carriers. Spool spindles each are rotatably supported in and protrude beyond a respective one of the bearings toward another of the opposite sides of a respective one of the carriers for carrying a cop or a tube. The carriers have substantially planar lower surfaces each surrounding a respective one of the protruding bearing portions. A transport apparatus movable in a given transport direction has a surface operatively connected to one of the opposite sides of each of the carriers. Another of the opposite sides of each of the carriers is slidingly guided in a guide rail.

Apparatus for transporting cops and cop tubes

A yarn traverse-winding apparatus of a textile machine producing cross-wound bobbins has a given traversing width and an endless yarn traversing belt. The belt has a belt body, yarn drivers spaced apart along the belt body, and inlays spaced apart within the belt body at intervals smaller than the given traversing width. The inlays are individually detectable by a sensor aimed at the yarn traversing belt.

A machine producing cross-wound bobbins or cheeses has a drum winding a yarn travelling in a given yarn travel direction on a cheese over a given traverse winding width with reversal points. A traverse winding apparatus includes a traction mechanism transmission having an endless traction mechanism. The traction mechanism is guided over rollers defining first and second traction mechanism segments movable in opposite directions at the same speed. The traction mechanism includes yarn entrainers spaced apart by at least substantially twice the given traverse winding width. First, second and at least one further yarn guide are in alternation with the traction mechanism segments as seen in the given yarn travel direction for supporting the yarn during traverse winding and for transferring the yarn between the yarn entrainers at the reversal points. Each of the yarn guides has a concave yarn guide contour with decreasing depth as seen in the given yarn travel direction to be contacted by the travelling yarn.

Traverse winding apparatus for a machine producing cross-wound bobbins

An automatic cross-wound bobbin winding machine includes a supporting frame and a plurality of winding devices secured on the supporting frame. Each of the winding devices includes pre-assembled modular structural units each having individual parts in the form of at least a yarn run-off location for a run-off spool, a yarn tensioner, a yarn joining device, and a cross-wound bobbin winding mechanism. A plurality of the structural units are combined into standardized or model-specific pre-assembled structural assemblies. Each of the structural units and each of the structural assemblies have pre-readied fastening devices for interchangeable clamping to an adjacent structural unit or structural assembly in an accurate position.

Automatic cross-wound bobbin winding machine

A yarn traversing mechanism having oppositely traversing yarn engaging elements and transfer means that disengage yarn from one element and transfer it into engagement by an oppositely traversing element at a plurality of different yarn reversing locations at each end of the yarn traverse. The different reversing locations are determined by an unequal spacing of yarn engaging elements and by either selectively raising a yarn guide member or displacing yarn engaging elements differently at different traversals of the yarn.

Yarn traversing mechanism

An endless yarn traversing band for a yarn traversing device in a machine for producing cross-wound bobbins. The band has spaced yarn guiding projections in a sawtoothed configuration. The band is formed of a textile yarn or metallic yarn fabric embedded in an elastomeric material. C-shaped sheaths of stainless steel are clamped over the leading edges of the yarn guiding projections. These leading edges project generally perpendicularly from the band up to a maximum inclination away from the direction of travel of the band of approximately 10 degrees. The trailing edges of the yarn guiding projections are convexly shaped such as with an outer extent angled approximately 10 degrees inwardly from the outer end of the leading edge and an inward extent extending at a greater inclination. The band is produced by forming layers of fabric, embedding the fabric in an elastomeric material, cutting the embedded fabric to the shape of the band and yarn guiding projections, scarfing and joining the ends of the band to form an endless band and then clamping the sheaths on the leading edges of the yarn guiding projections. Alternatively, the yarn guiding projections can be inserted between the fabric layers before embedding in the elastomeric material, also, alternatively, the fabric can be wound in endless layers and embedding in elastomeric material in endless form.

Endless yarn traversing band for a yarn traversing device in a machine

A thread traversing device of a cross-wound bobbin producing machine includes a belt drive having a first belt run with a first thread follower moving in a given traversing direction at a given speed and a second belt run with a second thread follower moving in a direction opposite to the given traversing direction at the given speed, the thread followers having upper ends and being spaced apart by at most twice a given traversing width, and a stationary thread guide for transferring a running thread from one of the thread followers to the other, the thread guide having a concave thread guiding contour touched by the running thread with reversing points defining a traversing path therebetween, the thread guiding contour lifting the running thread at the reversing points over the upper end of one of the thread followers so that the thread is taken along by the other of the thread followers and rides on the thread guiding contour.

Winding device for cross-wound bobbins, including a winding frame rotatably supporting a bobbin, a drive drum for rotating the bobbin, and a drive for rotating the drive drum, the improvement including an apparatus for automatically lifting the bobbin from the drive drum upon the stoppage of the drive, the lifting apparatus including a disconnection device being connected to the drive and being switchable into different switching states for controlling the drive dum, a device for lifting the winding frame being connected to the disconnection device and being controlled in dependence on the switching state of the disconnection device, and a coupling having a first coupling element connected to the winding frame, a second coupling element connected to the frame lifting device, and a control element controllable by the frame lifting device for separating and joining the coupling elements.

Apparatus for automatically lifting a cross-wound bobbin from its drive

A controllable and adjustable yarn tensioner having two rotationally driven brake plates, between which yarn to be placed in tension is guided, includes first and second rotationally supported shafts, one of the brake plates being disposed at one end of the first shaft, the other end of the first shaft having an operative connection with a driving device; the other of the brake plates being disposed at one end of the second shaft; both the first and the second shafts being in mutual alignment along a common rotary axis, the other end of the first shaft being also connected, via a transmission system disposed outside of the brake plates, to the other end of the second shaft; one of the two brake plates having a compression spring contributorily determining the braking force at which the brake plates are applied, whereby the braking force is adjustable by adjusting the length of the spring; the first shaft being axially slideable; and a brake plate-disengagement device connected to the first shaft.
