A device for rotating inside of a disk player and/or recorder a disk shaped data carrier which takes into account that the rotating disk may be eccentered from an imposed rotation axis. A side moving apparatus allows the rotating disk and a fixing device to which the disk is removably fixed, to move inside the player and/or recorder in a rotation plane substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the fixing device. The rotating disk and the fixing device go into a gyroscopic movement inside the player. A plurality of examples to realize the invention are described.

Disk drive with compensation of disk eccentricity

A device for rotating inside of a disk player and/or recorder a disk shaped data carrier which takes into account that the rotating disk may be eccentered from an imposed rotation axis. Side moving means allow the rotating disk and the fixing means to which the disk is removably fixed, to move inside said player and/or recorder in a rotation plane substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of said fixing means. The rotating disk and the fixing means go into a gyroscopic movement inside the player. A plurality of examples to realize the invention are described.

A dual wavelength optical pickup head in which as many same parts as possible are used as well to direct light beams incident than light beams reflected from a reflective layer of an optical disk. The reuse of as many parts as possible allows to and a second wavelength emitted by a first and a second light source to an optical disk, a dual focus lens objective for focusing said light beams on a layer of said optical disk and a single detector which allows to detect light beams of either said first or said second wavelength.

Compact dual wavelength optical pickup head

A recording or reproduction device with a three-point scanning arrangement compatible for use with recording media having different track spacings. The invention makes it possible, without changing the setting of the three-point scanning system, to use recording media having different track spacings. According to the invention, the three-point scanning system is set in such a way that the scanning center points have a lateral spacing from one another which is within a range of a first product, formed by a first predetermined value and the first track spacing, and a second product, formed by a second predetermined value and the second track spacing, the range being less than 8 percent of the value of the first product.

Recording or reproducing device for recording media having different track spacings

Apparatus for interposing additional optical elements in the optical path of an optical read/write device includes said additional element mounted on a carrier pivotally mounted on a lens carrier which is subject to lateral translation. Stops on the carrier to which the additional element is mounted engage actuators arranged at the limits of lateral travel of the lens carrier, which limits are beyond the recordable areas of the recording medium. The engagement of the actuators with the carrier causes the carrier to pivot and either insert or remove the additional optical element in the optical path of the apparatus. Magnetic retainers are included to prevent the additional element from moving from the desired position.
