A windshield wiper motor is disclosed in which there is a gear mechanism in a one piece plastic housing. The gear housing also houses the electrical terminals for the motor brushes and the brush springs. All these elements are placed in the one piece plastic housing.

An electric motor drive unit for windshield wipers includes an electric motor having an electrical connection plug housing and a brush holder plate. The plug housing and brush holder plate are provided as an integral unit. The unit is secured between the motor housing and the gear housing. This arrangement and assembly of the drive unit is simplified and less expensive to manufacture.

Windshield wiper electric drive unit

An electric drive unit particularly adapted for actuating windshield wiper assemblies includes a motor having it's armature shaft carrying aportion having two oppositely pitched worm threads. Two worm gear wheels are disposed each on opposite sides of the threaded portion and in engagement therewith. The axes of rotation of the worm wheels are in parallel. Two spur wheels are each concentrically seated on a respective worm wheel. The spur wheels each engage a wheel having its axis of rotation located in a plane defined by the axes of rotation of the worm wheels. The toothed wheel is connected to a drive shaft.
