In a method for the continuous renewal of a ballast bed () of a track from which the rails and sleepers have been removed, by carrying away old ballast () and depositing cleaned ballast or new ballast () on the underlying surface () from which the old ballast () has been removed, a removal device () which can travel in the working direction (x) continuously picks up the old ballast () of the ballast bed (). Method and device for renewing a ballast bed

The invention relates to a method for measuring tracks in relation to a measuring plan of the track which contains the actual position of the track, in relation to an absolute coordinate system. A measuring platform () is guided along the track (), whereon an inertia platform () is arranged, which is initialised, respectively, calibrated to the beginning of the measurement and is aligned in relation to the coordinate system. The inertia platform () detects the respective positions of the measuring platform () in relation to the coordinate system during the journey of the measuring platform (). Positional data of the inertia platform () is periodically examined based on fixed points (') which are arranged in the vicinity of the track and deviations in relation to the coordinate system are corrected by novel calibration, respectively, alignment.

At a machine for the establishing of a design--track position with a machine frame which runs on chassis and with a working unit coupled thereto, a measuring unit is in accordance with the invention directly placed on the machine frame for the working unit, resp. The measuring device for track building machines comprises an optical receiver device having two lenses (1, 2) aligned in one axis (3) and in each case at least one associated sensor strip (4, 5). The projections of light sources (A, B, C) disposed outside the receiver device onto the sensor strips (4, 5) produce signals which are evaluated and determine the size of the angle of the light source in relation to the optical axis. The provision of light-sensitive sensor strips (4, 5) makes it possible to dispense in an advantageous manner with mechanically rotating components in the receiver device.
