A portable spray apparatus () is provided to selectively discharge liquid spray medium and solid dust medium with a blower airflow () generated by a blower (). An adaptor () is provided which has at least a channel section () of a liquids channel () for the liquid spray medium and a channel section () of a solids channel () for the solid dust medium. The adaptor () is releasably connected to a supply vessel (). The liquids channel () and the solids channel () open into the blower airflow (). Various built-in positions of the supply vessel () and of the adaptor () are freely selectable relative to each other and to the blower unit () by the operator. In one built-in position, the liquids channel () is connected via its channel section () to an interior space () of the supply vessel () and, in another built-in position, the solids channel () is connected to this interior space () via the channel section () thereof.

Portable spray apparatus

A carburetor () has an adjusting element which is mounted in an intake channel (). An actuating element () is provided for actuating the adjusting element. The carburetor () has a coupling element for connecting the actuating element () to the adjusting element. The coupling element has a receptacle () for the actuating element (). In the receptacle (), the actuating element () is held moveable in its longitudinal direction opposite to the actuating direction (). The coupling element has an access opening which makes the receptacle () accessible at the periphery. An unintended unhooking of the actuating element () out of the coupling element is avoided when the access opening has an access slot () which extends at an angle to the receptacle () up to the receptacle (). The access slot () is connected to the receptacle () via at least one connecting slot ().

A venting valve for a fuel vessel of a portable handheld work apparatus has a valve housing which includes a base body and a valve cover. A valve plate is mounted between the base body and the valve cover. The valve plate controls a pressure compensating channel connecting the vessel interior space to the outside of the vessel. A cover cap extends over the valve cover and is fixed with an attachment shoulder on the base body. To reliably prevent a separation of the cover cap from the base body, a collar is provided on the liquid vessel wherein the attachment shoulder of the cover cap engages. The collar overlaps the free end of the attachment shoulder over a pregiven axial length (L). The inner diameter (I) of the collar is configured only slightly greater than the outer diameter (A) of the free end of the attachment shoulder.

An intake system for the combustion air of a motor of a hand held implement is provided. The system includes an air filter and a centrifugal separator. The air filter has a dirt chamber and a clean chamber that is separated therefrom by a filter medium. The clean chamber is fluidically connected with a carburetor of the motor to convey combustion air to the motor. The centrifugal separator splits the air stream into a core flow having low particle density and a peripheral flow having high particle density. The centrifugal separator includes at least two cyclones, wherein the discharged flows from the cyclones are respectively combined in pairs and open out into a common suction tube.

Intake system

The invention relates to an intake arrangement () for the combustion air () of an internal combustion engine () in a handheld work apparatus () such as a cutoff machine, a motor-driven chain saw or the like. An air filter () is provided for the cleaning of the combustion air () drawn in via an opening () of a filter housing (). To discharge dust () accumulated in the air filter () a carrier airflow () is provided in a flow channel () and the filter housing () is fluidly connected with the aid of a discharge tube () to the flow channel (). For a dosed metering of dust () from the filter housing (), a shutoff member () is provided and the shutoff member () clears or closes the fluid connection between the flow channel () and the filter housing ().

Intake arrangement for combustion air

The invention relates to an intake arrangement for the combustion air ( ) of an internal combustion engine ( ) in a portable handheld work apparatus such as a cutoff machine, a motor-driven chain saw or the like. Combustion air is supplied to an air filter ( ) via a first centrifugal-force separator ( ). The air filter ( ) is charged with a carrier airflow ( ) in addition to combustion air and the carrier flow ( ) contains coarser particles ( ) which function to build up a filter cake ( ) on the air filter ( ). In this way, a low maintenance continuous operation of the intake arrangement is made possible especially when the ambient air is heavily laden with dust.

Intake arrangement for the combustion air of an internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine, for example a two-stroke engine having scavenging collection, is provided. The combustion chamber formed in the cylinder is delimited by a reciprocating piston. A fuel/air mixture prepared in the Venturi section of a diaphragm carburetor is supplied to the engine. The air portion of the mixture is conveyed to the Venturi section via an intake channel, and the fuel portion is conveyed to the Venturi section via a main nozzle path that branches off from a fuel-filled control chamber to which fuel is supplied via a fuel line and a feed valve that is controlled by a control diaphragm that delimits the control chamber. A device is provided for varying the air portion and/or the fuel portion at full load. Connected to the device is a control unit that receives, as an input variable, an operating parameter of the engine that varies as a function of engine speed. The device is actuated as a function of the output signal of the control unit.

An internal combustion engine, especially a two-stroke engine in manually-guided implement, is provided. A piston that is disposed in a cylinder delimits a combustion chamber and by means of a connecting rod drives a crankshaft disposed in a crankcase. A fuel/air mixture is supplied to the engine via a diaphragm carburetor, the control chamber of which is delimited by a control diaphragm that controls a feed valve. Formed on the dry side of the diaphragm is a compensation chamber that communicates via a flow path with a source of pressure that pulsates as a function of engine speed. Disposed in the flow path is a check valve. The compensation chamber is to be relieved by a pressure-regulating valve disposed in a further flow path.

A hedge trimmer has a tool that is driven by a drive unit. At least one vibration-dampened handle is secured to the drive unit. The handle comprises a one-piece component having a grip portion and a mounting portion for mounting on the drive unit. To simplify mounting of the handle, the grip portion and the mounting portion are interconnected by a vibration-dampening intermediate portion. The mounting portion along with the intermediate portion and the grip portion form the one-piece or monolithic component.

A pressure equalization system serves to prevent an undesired pressure level in a fuel tank of an internal combustion engine. An air/fuel mixture is fed to the internal combustion engine via the carburetor. The carburetor is, on one hand, connected to the clean air side of an intake air filter via an intake channel and, on the other hand, inducts fuel from a control chamber filled with fuel. This fuel flows from a fuel tank via an inlet valve into the control chamber, with the inlet valve being controlled by a control membrane. A start-assist device includes an intake line connected to the control chamber and a return line connected to the fuel tank. A pressure equalization valve connected to the return line of the start-assist device is provided for the fuel tank, with the pressure equalization valve also being connected to the intake channel.

A hand-held working tool has a tool member and a drive unit with an internal combustion engine drivingly connected to the tool member. A grip unit with vibration damping members is connected with the vibration damping members to the drive unit. Receiving cages for receiving the vibration damping members are connected either to the drive unit or the grip unit. Pins with a longitudinal axis are connected to the other one of the drive unit or the grip unit. They extend in the direction of the longitudinal axis at least partly into the receiving cages so as to be positioned substantially centrally in the vibration damping members. The vibration damping members have a greater extension in the direction of a first axis, extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, than in a direction of a second axis, extending also substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
