A method for cleaning items to be washed in a dishwasher operational using at least one first predetermined wash program sequence including an intensive, low-temperature, automatic or standard program, using a specific mechanical and/or thermal soiling removal energy to achieve a specific cleaning and/or drying result, for carrying out such program steps as pre-rinse, cleaning, intermediate rinse, final rinse and drying, with the predetermined wash program being configured for substantially minimizing the quantity of water and energy used, the method including the steps of applying at least one second predetermined wash program sequence including a rapid intensive, rapid low-temperature, rapid automatic or rapid standard program, using substantially similar mechanical and/or thermal soiling removal energy as first wash program sequence to achieve the substantially similar specific cleaning and/or drying result as first wash program sequence, with second program sequence occurring in less time than first wash program sequence.

Washing programme for a dishwasher having a shorter cycle with a constant cleaning efficiency

A dishwasher includes a hot water inlet device for intake of hot water from an external hot water supply and a cold water inlet device for intake of cold water from an external cold water supply. A program control device controls a wash cycle of a selected dishwashing program for cleaning wash items. The program control device is constructed to operate in at least one of first and second operating modes, wherein the first operating mode includes activation of one wash program which, in at least one partial wash cycle of a wash cycle, draws hot water from the external hot water supply, and wherein the second operating mode includes activation of another wash program which, in at least one partial wash cycle of a wash cycle, exclusively draws cold water from the external cold water supply.

Dishwasher having two water connections and control method

An insert having insert compartments separated from one another by separating walls with at least two insert compartments provided with compartment floors, arranged in different heights, for loading different silverware pieces and/or small dishes. The silverware pieces and/or the small dishes may, depending on their respective length/size/shape, be loaded into the insert compartment having the corresponding compartment floor positioned in a suitable height, so that they stand on the compartment floor and are no longer required to be hung.

The system for drying objects to be washed includes a heat generator for heating at least part of the air present in the dishwasher and a humidity sensor that detects the humidity of at least part of the air present in the dishwasher, such that only the amount of energy that is actually required for optimal drying is supplied in the form of heat energy for drying.
