The hinge-lid pack comprising box part () and lid () features a polygon-like configuration in the region of its side walls (), namely having angular wall legs () and a narrow, transverse side wall (). The cross-sectional shape of the hinge-lid pack thus conforms to the contour of a cigarette group as the pack's contents, with the cigarette group having at its edges adjacent to the side walls () a marginal transverse row of 2 cigarettes and adjacent thereto a transverse row of 3 cigarettes.

Transponders are used for identifying objects such as packaging, packaging material or machines and machine elements and are attached to the object to be identified. The transponders contain data which are provided by an electronic write unit and which can be recognized by a read unit. The transponders are provided in a concealed manner on the machines, machine parts, etc. or are embedded in the machine part, for example, inside a recess.

Package particularly a cigarette package, and method and device for the production thereof

A cuboidal cigarette pack of the hinge-lid-box type () is enclosed by an outer wrapper made of film. The latter has a tear-open thread () which extends obliquely or diagonally in the region of a front wall () and rear wall () and merges into side walls () via arcuate regions. This allows optimum opening and removal of the outer wrapper with the aid of the tear-open thread ().

Pack with tear-open thread, and process and apparatus for producing the same

A distributor or hopper is part of a cigarette production machine and serves for dressing the tobacco in the provision of a continuous tobacco strand. An integral part of a distributor is a metering system which prepares the tobacco for the production of the tobacco strand. To separate out undesirable constituents, such as foreign bodies, stalks or ribs, from the tobacco, at least one sifter () is provided. The latter precedes the metering system of the distributor in the working direction, in particular is arranged outside the distributor, so that sifted tobacco is introduced into the distributor.

Device for processing tobacco during the production of cigarettes

In the production of filter-tipped cigarettes (), an apparatus (filter attachment machine) is used, which consists of a main cylinder () and a plurality of assigned further cylinders. The elements of the filter-tipped cigarettes (), specifically a tobacco rod () or part-rods (), filter pieces (), cigarette units (), and the filter-tipped cigarettes () produced therefrom are transported by the main cylinder (), with the exception that part-rods () displaced at a distance from one another and with a filter piece () inserted for the attachment of a wrapping paper () are transported and connected to one another outside the main cylinder (), so that one-piece cigarette units () are returned to the main cylinder ().

Method and device for producing filter cigarettes

Process for producing packs made of thin cardboard with an outer wrapper made of shrink-wrap film. Folding tabs of the outer wrapper are connected to one another by full-surface-area heat sealing. The shrink-wrapping process for the outer wrapper may be initiated as a result. In order to ensure a correct form of the outer wrapper, the folding tabs, prior to the full-surface-area sealing operation, are connected to one another by a tack seal, with small, limited sealing surface areas, and are then sealed over the full surface area.

Process for producing hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes

During the production of cigarettes, but in particular in the region of a cigarette-packaging machine, a comparatively large amount of tobacco accumulates as waste. This is specifically removed by arranging suction-extraction elements and/or conveying-away elements for tobacco particles () in the region of elements and subassemblies of the machines with increased accumulation of tobacco. The air with tobacco particles () which has been extracted by suction is led through a tobacco separator (), which has a separating element () for receiving the tobacco particles. From time to time, these are removed from the tobacco separator () and recycled into the production process.

Apparatus for producing and/or packaging cigarettes

In the production of packs with outer wrappers which have a tear-open strip (), the latter of continuous material strips (), for the purpose of severing the tear-open strips (), are provided with printing, markings (), etc. Moreover, the film webs () from which the outer wrappers are made also are preferably provided with markings, printing or printed marks (). Sensing elements help to detect the relative positions of the tear-open strip () and the film webs () on account of the printing and the drive of the film web () and/or of the material strip () is controlled accordingly.

Process and apparatus for producing packs with an outer wrapper as well as reel unit

Multipack for a group of cigarette packs () that are arranged in two rows and are enclosed by a multipack blank () made of thin cardboard. The multipack blank () is designed and folded such that a top side () is free and it is possible to see the cigarette packs () positioned therein. The pack unit is enclosed by an outer wrapper () made of transparent or see-through film with a tear-open strip ().

Box packaging for cigarettes

Process for producing (cigarette) packs from blanks which are drawn off from a continuous material web wound as a reel, regions of glue arranged on both sides of the material web serving for connecting folding tabs. The regions of glue are positioned in different lines of the material web such that, in the would state, regions of glue on one side of the material web do not overlap with regions of glue on the other side.

Method for producing (cigarette) packets

Hinge-lid boxes for cigarettes, comprising a box part () and lid (), are frequently fitted with a closure aid for the lid (). Said closure aid comprises interlocking elements which can be brought into engagement with one another, namely a lid inner tab (), on the one hand, and a collar front wall (), on the other hand. In order to ensure operativeness as soon as the pack is used, it is ensured that the closure aid is already in engagement when the pack is completed, i.e. before it is used for the first time. For this purpose, the lid () is partially opened after being substantially completed and is then moved into the closed position again thereby ensuring engagement of the closing elements.

Method and device for producing flap cases comprising a closing accessory

In the production and packaging of cigarettes, the procedure for carrying out a product changeover is such that the entire production and packaging installation is largely emptied. In the region of a film packer ( ) and of a following multipacker ( ), subassemblies for producing web connections (splice) are controlled such that a last cigarette pack of the old configuration is assigned to a last cigarette multipack ( ) and this is then separated out.

Process for producing cigarette packs

Folding box (hinge-lid pack) for cigarettes of the like, comprising a box component ( ), a lid ( ) and a collar ( ), with a print carrier ( ) being positioned in the folding box between a collar front wall ( ) on one hand, and a box front wall , on the other hand. In a preferred embodiment, the folding box is provided with a window ( ) in said area.

The pack according to the invention, comprising a wrapper and a group of cigarette packs&mdash;cigarette multipack&mdash;the wrapper being produced by being folded from an, in particular, single-piece blank, is configured in the manner of a hinge-lid pack. This gives an immediate indication of the contents of the pack to the person looking at it.
