The present invention relates to radio frequency (RF) distribution systems for mobile communications. In particular, the present invention relates to a radio frequency network facilitating radio communication where the usual free space propagation of electromagnetic waves is hampered, undesired or impossible, for example in tunnels, mines, and buildings and in large complexes like exhibition grounds, shopping malls, and airports. The radio frequency network comprises a distributed antenna system having radiating elements, a wired distribution system feeding the distributed antenna system, at least one antenna amplifier between one end of the wired distribution system and the distributed antenna system, at least one line amplifier at the other end of the wired distribution system, and automatic self-leveling units included in the antenna and line amplifiers.

Radio frequency network

The invention relates to a method for wireless cellular indoor communications, the method comprising at least one base station connected to a cell management unit through a first digital connection interface, the cell management unit connected to at least one RF hub through a second digital connection interface, and the at least one RF hub connected to at least one remote radio head through a third digital connection interface, the at least one remote radio head providing service in a certain cell area inside a confined environment, and the cell management unit comprising means for providing efficient load balancing at and between base stations through adaptive cell reconfiguration; means for mapping carriers, time, frequency or time-frequency allocations to individual radio heads; means for alignment of individual delays accumulated on the digital connections between the cell management unit and each of the radio heads; means for synchronization of the signals between the cell management unit and the individual remote radio heads; and means for failure detection of the individual digital links between the cell management unit and the remote radio heads.

Method and system for wireless cellular indoor communications

The invention relates to an optical transmission system comprising transmitter and receiver devices and comprising automatic optical signal level configuration means which provide the same fixed output signal level for a received signal level range, and the system comprising at least one automatic self-level unit in the transmitter device and at least one automatic self-level unit in the receiver device.
